Ebola Travel Ban Now!

Ebola Travel Ban - Public DomainIs Barack Obama completely insane?  By not instituting an immediate ban on all non-essential travel between the United States and West Africa, he is putting the lives of more than 300 million Americans at risk.  Anyone with a shred of common sense knows that you keep more people from getting sick by keeping the sick people away from the healthy people.  Because the Ebola outbreaks in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone are raging out of control, it is extremely difficult to tell who is carrying Ebola and who is not carrying Ebola.  Therefore we need to keep everyone from those countries away until those outbreaks subside.  If Barack Obama had established an Ebola travel ban a month or two ago like he should have done, Thomas Eric Duncan would never have entered the United States, and we would not have two Texas nurses infected with the virus.  But because Barack Obama did not do his job, now we have a new Ebola scare popping up somewhere in the country almost hourly.  If this outbreak eventually evolves into a full-blown pandemic, we will know who to blame.

Will an Ebola travel ban work?

It has worked in Africa.  Even as the outbreaks in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone have spread like wildfire, the nations immediately bordering them are doing just fine.  And there is one primary reason why this is the case…

Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and Senegal, all of which share borders with at least one of the three most affected countries, have closed those borders.

At this point, nearly 30 countries have instituted an Ebola travel ban.

So why won’t Obama do it?

This is clearly what the American people want.  For example, one recent survey asked the following question…

Should the government allow people who have recently been in any of the countries in western Africa where there is a major Ebola outbreak to enter the United States?

Only 23 percent of respondents said yes to that question.

We aren’t talking about the flu or the measles or some other disease that we are accustomed to dealing with.

We are talking about a brutally efficient killer that could kill millions of us if it were to spread widely inside the United States.

Sadly, at this point Barack Obama and the CDC are dead set against a travel ban, and there are “experts” popping up all over the mainstream media explaining to us why an Ebola travel ban would be a bad idea.

They say that a travel ban would provide a “false sense of security”.

Of course they never mention that travel bans are working quite well in Africa.

They say that a travel ban would make the Ebola outbreaks worse by keeping people from going over there to help.

But very few people are suggesting that essential medical personnel should be banned from traveling.  So that argument makes no sense whatsoever.

They say that travelers would just find another way into this country, and that it is better for us to be able to screen them when they come through the airports.

What are they going to do?  Swim over here from West Africa?

If we ban all sea and air travel from those nations, the only way that they would be able to come in would be through the Canadian or Mexican borders.  And if Obama had secured those borders like he should have done by now, we wouldn’t have a problem.

Some “experts” are even suggesting that a travel ban would be “racist”.

Really?

What about all of the other African nations that have instituted Ebola travel bans?

Are they “racist” too?

Right now, the dead bodies of Ebola victims are decaying in the streets over in West Africa.  Ebola corpses are being dumped into rivers and are being eaten by animals.  Grave diggers can’t keep up with the number of bodies being delivered to them.  The Liberian government estimates that it will soon need more than 84,000 additional body bags as the death toll climbs at an exponential rate.

We don’t want that coming here.

But thanks to Obama, most Americans now believe that we will see a major Ebola outbreak in the United States during the coming year…

According to a Wednesday poll by the Harvard School of Public Health, 52 percent of Americans surveyed said they believe the country will experience a large outbreak in the coming year, while 38 percent said they believed they or a family member would be infected.

In a previous article, I blamed the current state of affairs on Obama’s incompetence.

But to be honest, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.

The truth is that Obama being incompetent is the best case scenario.

There is also a possibility that Donald Trump has raised.  We could actually be looking at a situation where there is something wrong with his mental health

Thursday on NewsMax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show,” real estate mogul Donald Trump called into question President Barack Obama mental health for refusing enact a travel ban on commercial flights from West African nations suffering with the Ebola outbreak.

When Malzberg asked if Trump, who had tweeted that the president was “psycho” for not stopping the flights, stands by questioning Obama’s mental health, Trump doubled down saying, “There is something wrong, and nobody knows what it is, but there is something wrong. There are so many bad decision. Can anybody be that incompetent? There is something wrong.”

Others have suggested that Obama may even be doing this on purpose.

Whatever his motivation is, the truth is that he is endangering all of us and our families.

Meanwhile, the CDC also richly deserves all of the criticism that it is currently getting.

This is an agency that is absolutely showered with money.  It gets more than $6,000,000,000 a year, and it is supposed to be preparing our health care system for events such as this.

And without a doubt, the money is in their budget

This lack of response is despite having these line items in its budget (2012 numbers):

  • Quarantine (non-add) $25,866,000
  • Healthcare-Associated Infections – PPHF (non-add) $11,750,000
  • Workplace Wellness – PPHF $10,000,000
  • Surveillance, Epidemiology, and PH Informatics $262,129,000
  • Personal Protective Technology $16,791,000
  • State and Local Preparedness and Response Capability $657,418,000
  • Public Health and Social Services Emergency Fund Transfer (non-add) $30,000,000

How much of these funds were used to monitor, consult, advice the nurses in Dallas who were treating a man with deadly Ebola? $0.00

“Incompetent” is far too kind a word to describe the performance of the CDC so far.

But of course this is just par for the course for federal agencies these days.  This has become so glaringly obvious that even CNBC is talking about it…

The CDC is just the latest in a line of federal agencies viewed as bumbling and incompetent. First it was the botched rollout of Obamacare by the Department of Health and Human Services and the IRS seemingly targeting conservative groups for extra scrutiny. More recently, the Secret Service came under heavy criticism for allowing a knife-wielding intruder to burst in and run wild inside the White House, among other appalling lapses.

The CDC now is under heavy scrutiny for not moving more swiftly to ensure that Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan did not spread the disease to American nurses and for apparently unclear direction to one of those nurses, Amber Joy Vinson, about whether she could fly after treating Duncan.

As political pressure has mounted, Obama has finally made a “big move” to get a grip on this crisis.

He has appointed an “Ebola czar” to oversee the federal response to Ebola.

His name is Ron Klain, and he is a Democratic political hack best known for his work during the “hanging chads” episode of the 2000 presidential election.

The White House says that they were not looking for an expert on Ebola.

Mission accomplished.

The “Ebola czar” heading up the response to what could be the greatest health crisis in U.S. history does not know anything about the virus.

Let us hope that this Ebola outbreak fizzles out somehow and that by some miracle no more Ebola victims travel to the United States.

Because it has become exceedingly clear that our government is not equipped to deal with something like this.

Matt Drudge recently sent out a tweet warning that we need to be ready to “self-quarantine” if necessary.

I think that is very good advice.  Obviously the government is not going to be able to protect us if Ebola starts spreading like wildfire.

The only people that you are going to be able to depend on are yourself, your family and your close friends.

I encourage all of you to get prepared while we still have time.

Admin,

Have you changed your mind about the possibility of a major outbreak? Should I simply not kiss an African?

I agree completely. I have been saying this again and again that unrestricted travel from those areas where Ebola is raging out of control is an INSANE POLICY.

The single most basic, the single most useful tool in dealing with infectious diseases is isolating the sick from those that are healthy (quarantine). This has been well known for thousands of years. Even an animal knows enough to move away, isolate or distance itself from danger. And yet Obama stubbornly refuses to do the right thing to protect American lives.

The why of his motives is a distraction. The fact is his actions don’t protect American lives; his actions clearly put Americana lives in danger.

Hussein Obola would make Romel the Desert Fox proud in his defense of the fatherland Africa.

Contain the virus by sealing the boarders of neighboring African countries through travel bans. And open the gates of the Great Satan America.

Long live Hussein!

Africa – Burn the whole fuckjng continent to ashes and dust. Think of how much easier it would be to extract the precious minerals and oil without all the nasty diseases, animals, people, and jungles covering it. Fuck Africa, and all the adopted celebrity babies, Kony movies, killer bees, viruses (HIV and Ebola), refugees, Nelson Mandella, underwear bombers, and other bullshit that comes from there.

Hussein needs Obola to infect Americans in order to get proper funding an intensive resolve to stop the pandemic in Africa.

Closing the border on adjacent African so called nations in Africa is a first step to contain further spreading of the virus in Africa.

@ Hager

That has got to be far better then the current so called screening that they are doing at the airports at this time which is nothing more that “just for show” which everyone knows will still let infected people through.

But they wont be using anything that will actually work. Every action Obama has taken is going to result in more Ebola in America.

Even to die hard Obama supporters this should be obvious by now.

I attended a webinar this past week put on by Emory university regarding care of Ebola patients. The head infectious disease Doctor explained their set up and procedures. It cost a freaking few million dollars to successfully treat one of these patients. I could go into the whole show but won’t, just know it cannot be replicated on a large scale out break, won’t happen, it’s cost prohibitive and not enough staff to man an outbreak. If the disease reaches a point where it’s feeding on it self from host to host modern medicine and first world countries won’t mean shit.

What people don’t seem to be able to grasp is the potential for the large number of deaths that can result from just ONE unfortunate misstep.

If someone was trying to transport an atom bomb into the country that would for sure get everyone’s attention. There would be a massive mobilization of every agency in the government to prevent that from happening.

But here we have a situation that could so EASLY result in the death of millions, much more than any atom bomb and not only is no one doing much to stop it, the PRESIDENT is doing everything in his power to make sure it happens!!!!

This idea that “well I’ll worry when it looks like it might turn into and epidemic” just blows my mind.

People you just don’t get it, you have to stop it before it starts. It’s like standing in a lake of gasoline, once you light that match, it’s too late.

—————————————
“Top Scientist: This Version Of Ebola Looks Like ‘A Very Different Bug”

“we could be dealing with some sort of “super Ebola” that nobody has ever seen before.”

,”a top Ebola scientist that is working in the heart of the outbreak in Liberia says that this version of Ebola looks like it could be “a very different bug” from past versions. Other leading scientists are echoing his concerns. And yet Barack Obama and Thomas Frieden continue to publicly proclaim that we know precisely how this virus behaves. Not only is that bad science, but it could also potentially result in the unnecessary deaths of a very large number of people.”

“viral loads in Ebola patients are much higher than they are used to seeing.”

“viral loads are coming up very quickly and really high, higher than they are used to seeing.”

(person becomes contagious faster to a higher level of contagion)

This explains why their existing protocols have been failing to protect health care workers.

“’It may be that the virus burns hotter and quicker.’”

“Gary Kobinger – has found that the current strain of Ebola appears to be much worse than any strain seen before … and that the current virus may be more likely to spread through aerosols than strains which scientists have previously encountered.”

All you need to do to understand Hussein Obolas policy on any issue. Is ask your self a question?

How can I best help my people. That is Africans and Blacks.

You ll see that. Infecting Americans will expedite vacines to save Africa. Sealing of African boarders to east and leaving the airports to the west is the escape rout.

I just which someone in the media or government would go “listen , this is what his policy looks like to me”

There are some, as yet unconfirmed, reports that the boyfriend of Nina Pham has been hospitalized in Dallas with “symptoms”.

If he tests positive for Ebola, that can mean one, or all, of several things:

1) People who are only mildly infected are capable of infecting others. (The mode of infection here will have to be, ahem, clarified).

2) That the viral load is higher for this Ebola strain for a given level of symptoms that in previous outbreaks. There is some experimental evidence that this might be the case. (That will be bad.)

If Duncan’s family remains free of Ebola after their 21 day quantine, that might mean:

1) People who are very symptomatic are not capable of infecting others. (Even when they are spewing infectious bodily fluids. That would be good.)

2) That Liberians may have some innate immunity to Ebola and thus may take a higher dose of Ebola to get infected. There are survivors of Ebola even in terrible healthcare systems, so there must be either due to luck or to some degree of innate immunity.

We will see about Amber Vinson’s relatives….

So many questions!!!!

Well our media as usual doesn’t report much about world news, but Obola cases are now in Germany, UK, Spain, Norway, and France. The good news is there are NO direct flights from W. Africa to the U.S. The airlines drop people off in Morocco or Brussels.

I believe we have a 75% chance of beating Obola, but the knowns and unknowns are shakey at best.
If the disease gets a foothold in the U.S., I believe we are screwed. The CDC response reminds me of the old FEMA during Katrina.

If any of the passengers on Amber Vinson’s flight from Cleveland back to Dallas come down with ebola, that’d be really bad. If none do, that’d be reassuring. As we hear more about how the nurses’ protective gear when treating Duncan had been not merely insufficient but almost nonexistent, it decreases the probability that Pham and Vinson had been infected in an extraordinarily extreme manner – like a tiny aerosolized particle that had wafted around a protective face shield and onto their eyeball. If, as it now appears, they had vast swaths of exposed skin, it makes more believable the assertions that transmissions can only be caused by direct contact with bodily fluids. TBD.

Hope, I think you nailed it. Klain was probably hired to keep a lid on shit until Nov 5th. What the hell happened to Nina Pham’s boyfriend? Is he or is he not in isolation? If he is, where is he? Has he been diagnosed? It’s been 8 days since he was admitted, according to the message posted on his employer’s website. http://www.alcon.com/news-center/news-item.aspx?id=322

It’s also been reported that there’s another unnamed male being treated for Ebola @ Emory.

I understand that to incubation period can be as long as approximately 45 days in some cases although the average for most cases is around 21 days. Mr. Duncan was treated by medical personnel until he died on Oct. 8. Shouldn’t the quarantine period end on Oct. 29, 21 days after the last exposure and not on Oct. 20, 21 days after he was first diagnosed with the virus. With a low load 45 day incubation period this would extend the possibility of contracting the disease well into November and for Vinson’s flight to Dallas on Oct 13 the first week in December for exposed passengers.

MIA, I believe that Duncan’s family’s quarantine ended yesterday because that was ~ 21 days from when Duncan was admitted into the hospital (9/28/14). If ay of them had contracted Ebola from something within the apartment in the first week after Tomas Duncan had been admitted (since the virus can supposedly live outside the host for a week), then they would have a goo week left until they’re “clear” – even assuming a 21 day incubation period. With Amber Vinson having flown on Oct 13th, the 21 day period would be up ~ Nov 3rd. If none of the 132 passengers turn up sick by a week into November, it would seem unlikely that any of them had been infected by Vinson.

According to multiple sources, Nina Pham’s boyfriend (friend) has been admitted to the hospital on Oct 12-13 only three days after Nina was diagnosed with the disease. This means that that if he has contracted ebola it was about the same time Nina was first exposed on Sept. 25. If by chance he had not contracted the disease it would surely be all over the news by now instead silence.

This is disturbing news, simply because how many other cases are we not being told about? Since Pham’s boyfriend has now been admitted, there are reports of others as well being admitted that we are not being told about. The actual number of ill patients seems to be around six.

Amazingly the third patient Vinson was allowed to be on a plane with 132 people. She was cleared by the CDC, what incompetence are we dealing with here? Now, how many other places has the Ebola virus spread? This nurse also among other things attended a conference in Ohio for nurses. Those other nurses who also attended the conference have now been exposed to the virus whether or not they will fall ill no one knows yet. However, that is not the biggest problem.

Now a university has come out with studies claiming Ebola is airborne as well as Canadian, and other researchers around the world. The CDC is completely ignoring the fact that Ebola could be airborne. Well, Ebola can be spread through coughing and sneezing in large air droplets, or according to the universities study, small droplets.

New York – A team of physicians with experience in epidemiology and health science research applying scientific methods and statistical analysis have concluded that as long as travel from West Africa remains open, there is no way to stop the international spread of Ebola.
