I could probably survive a dystopian future where children have to fight to the death…as long as I don’t have to have a beard like that younger guy. Either shave or don’t shave. I know I’m totally missing the point, but that was a fucked up beard – like en English garden.

The residents of Detroit are not paying their water bills, so the city has shut off water to those that are delinquent.

The fucking UN is now involved:

This United Nations Human Rights team has spent the last three days trying to figure out why the shutoffs are necessary. Leilani Farha and Catarina de Albuquerque led the mission.

“People are living without dignity it’s a human rights violation. the city should restore water to those unable to pay,” said a representative of the U.N. team.

Why the shutoffs are necessary………………I have little hope left.

Should access to water be a right? I think, so but population is the problem. There shall be no happiness until everything in the entire world is monetized. By the .1% of course.

If you live in the country and the water well breaks you fix it or do without. Urban people need to get a life. John

U.N states people are living without dignity when their water is turned off. Hummm, I see women in African walk many miles to fetch water for the family, daily by the way. I have noticed a very large lake by Detroit, and the water is free, just bring a bucket.

You are paying a utility for the convenience of having H2O pumped to your dwelling. Clean water is a very cheap commodity in the U.S. If I did not have a large yard and garden to water, my water bill would be about 30.00 per month. A dollar a day for clean drinking water, flushing your toilets, and washing your clothes and dishes seems like a real deal to me. My water company is not a government operation, but it is a well run for profit company.
