LMAO!!

Good commercial!

Thoughts:

– Not a Glockenspiel fan… there’s two camps.. The Glock camp and the HK Camp. I fall into the latter… Nothing personal, I just don’t like Glocks.

Nice Bowie knife, tweaker! You got the pointy end turned right, but holding it like that? A 4 year old could take it away from you… since you don’t know how to use it, wanna sell it?

– Gotta love Gunny! Every time I see that guy, I get flashbacks to Basic… funny how abuse is remembered fondly…

1911: It’s like a Glock for men!

Just like the character says in “Ronin,” in response to being asked what gun he prefers. “It’s a toolbox. I don’t care, you put the tools in for the job, that’s all.”

Bottom line: If it goes bang when it’s supposed to, (including being there when needed) it doesn’t matter that much. It simply devolves to subjective preference. I enjoy 1911’s, but find they’re too heavy for use away from the range now that lighter, easy to use and reliable alternatives exist.

I have my doubts about claims by people that they daily-carry a 3 lb (loaded) pistol concealed. Perhaps some do, but most I suspect are full of it. Even a wonder-nine (Glock or otherwise) with 15-17 rounds in the mag must get awful heavy.

It’s not just the gun being carried.

@ ragman

Oh, I own one of Saint John’s finest… the 1911A1 my daddy carried during the Korean War… when I shoot it, I don’t have to wear ear protection. I can’t hear anything over the sound of how awesome it is…

My comment was directed more towards Combat Tupperware… and my USP is in .45 ACP anyways…

You know HK’s company slogan: “Because you suck. And we hate you.”

I love 1911s. They are REALLY fun. I do not carry, but if I did, I suspect I would go with something lightweight. I always have liked small Brownings. I think they stopped making some of my favorites, though.

Beretta 92 has just as much sucking about it as the Glock does, Frenchie…

Alloy lower, steel slide. Aluminum has an affinity for steel, so you’ll eventually get galling, once that black finish is worn down some. That long, grindy trigger in DA. Plus, it’s got an exposed transfer bar (this is the long, thin piece of steel that connects the trigger to the sear) which allows all sorts of crud into the workings of the pistol.

And did I mention it’s in 9mm? Bleah…

The only reason we adopted it is because of a treaty that the US needed Italy to sign… since we weren’t allowed to adopt a foreign made pistol, we cut Beretta a sweet deal on building a factory here in the US, just so we could adopt their crappy pistol. And “Beretta USA” was born…

If I was being forced to carry a 9mm, then I choose the Browning Hi Power. Best 9mm design of all time.

Here. Old model Hi Power with the internal extractor. Blued steel and walnut. Nothing to break. No way crud can get inside. Simple. Even designed by Saint John himself…

It’s awesomeness on a bun…

Billah, hon, I know what yer talkin bout, that awesomeness on a bun and whatnot.

I got some kind uh awesome boil on my left bun, and Billy Jr went to town tryin to git that devil broke, but it’s still there, and it feels like hell. Do me a favor. Bring home yer vise grips and a box cutter, and maybe some goggles and a bandana cuz last time we did this there was an explosion and the trailer smelt like rancid tuna fer a week.

Billy I agree for the browning. a friend of mine has a Gp from Belgium

as for the Beretta, I agree it’s a sack of shit as is.
mine is modified at the lower, is cerakoted everywere including the internal sides of the slide and the corresponding area of the lower, trigger course is shorten and there’s a LPA rear sight. the slack of the side is reduced to extreme levels. rosewood grips and titanium gray… in term of accuracy it can now allow to punch 5 holes side by side at 25 yards.
it cost me 300€ used and 150€ of components…

regarding the 9mm round, I wouldn’t sniff at a hollow point. regular rounds have a pretty good penetration on cars. last but not least, it’s the cheapest round here in france
I’m not a gun nut, but I shoot 50 rounds every saturday morning. zombies can come, no problem.
