Obama to announce immigration order Friday: report

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) – President Barack Obama will announce what executive steps he will take to change immigration rules on Friday, according to a report Wednesday on CNBC, citing a person familiar with the decision. There have been several reports that Obama will visit Las Vegas on Friday, although the trip has not been announced by the White House. Obama’s overhaul of the immigration system would reportedly protect up to 5 million unauthorized immigrants from deportation. Many immigrants would be given work permits. Republicans, who are bitterly opposed to Obama acting alone, are mulling ways to block funding for agencies that carry out the executive orders.

A bill to end the National Security Agency’s bulk collection of telephone records failed on a procedural vote in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday after senior Republicans said it would benefit enemies of the United States, including Islamic State militants.
The “USA Freedom Act” was supported by an unusual coalition of Democrats and conservative Republicans concerned about Americans’ privacy, but failed 58 to 42, falling short of the 60 votes needed to move ahead.

I don’t see what the big deal is. These 5 million were automatically Democrat voters and govt teat suckers the minute they crossed the border. There were probably 2.5 million pregnancies just prior to or right after their crossing so I really don’t see the problem. Regardless of what Obama does, it has been clear for a long time that deportation is a non-starter. It’s one of the consequences of current Americans not having any work ethic.
If I were an illegal, the last thing I’d want is US citizenship conferred upon me. I’d sign up for all the free shit I could get and have ACORN and their ilk (Democrats) show me how to vote (illegally) for more free shit!
