There is no obvious replacement for the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Any interim period after a dollar crisis will likely bring conflict. Eventual restoration of the dollar’s reserve status after such a conflict is inevitable due to the US’s natural geopolitical strengths.

OMG, those periods seem to coincide with their age of empire. Could there be a correlation, does loss of reserve currency status lead to the end of empire? Does this mean the American Empire will soon end?

EC- We are toast.

In other news, it was announced today that a man in Montana plans to marry wife #2 due to the decision by SCOTUS regarding marriage. It is now game on for polygamous marriage and don’t count on your SS check in the future as all of these WIVES will want to draw as spouses (gay, straight or whatever).

All TBP guys who would like to have a few extra wives, start shopping.

Bea, are you drinking right now? . C’mon, man, who wears the yoga pants in your house? Exactly, now go tell her you are going to pick up a few extra wives..

Extra wives, more leeches, fuck that. Women expand their domain and take over every room of the house, take control of the remote, count your drinks, pick shirts out for you, insist on you picking up clothes when nobody is even coming over

Ah Anthony, thank you Sir for your drop by sharing of your marked intelligence and future forecasting.

You made me laugh, it felt good.

What’s going to bring back the reserve? Our economy that consists of government enforcements and regulations, or our “health” care that is 100% created by creating permanent (well, until dead) victims that never stop coming back for further harm? Or maybe our banksters that are stealing from us all and taking a kife on the above and welfare?

Yep, thanks again, I truly needed a laugh.

Greetings,

I am not at all convinced that a loss of reserve currency status will be bad for us in the long run. Right now we can create fantasy money to acquire the energy we need to run our economy. The loss of that status would mean that we would once again have to work for the things we use. It would also immediately bring an end to the FSA and many of the other shenanigans currently going on.

The initial loss of that status would be difficult as the free ride would come to an end. The crafty and the owners will come out just fine but there will be a lot of pain. It is going to happen sooner or later.

Yeah, 500% deflation of the dollar will just be a flesh wound; it’ll be up and partying again in about a day or two. .

My one quibble with that graphic is that I suspect that it was gold and silver that were the real reserve currencies of the world up to the evil reign of the british pound.

Agreed. England/UK did just fine and depending on their station in life, their citizens did ok as well. Most of the former middle class in the USA will have to prepare to afford less stuff though because the govt reaction is going to be to increase taxes, fees and penalties for just about everything. One of the biggest increases will be the tax on energy. Your only chance to get ahead in that environment will be to own your own home or some productive land before the loss of reserve status.

WTF is a “natural geopolitical strength”??? I suppose by today’s standards it’s “natural” for the US to bully every other country. It’s what the they’ve done for decades now.
