Trump and the GOP Border War

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

In the 2016 race, June belonged to two outsiders who could not be more dissimilar.

Bernie Sanders is a socialist senator from Vermont and Donald Trump a celebrity capitalist and legendary entrepreneur and builder.

What do they have in common? Both have tapped into what the bases of their respective parties believe is wrong with America.

Bernie is the Willie Nelson of national politics, a leftist voice of a working class whose jobs and factories have been exported and whose wages have stagnated as banksters and the Davos-Doha crowd amass mammoth fortunes by playing games of three-dimensional Monopoly.

The 73-year-old Sanders may have no chance of beating Hillary. But the size of his crowds testifies that he speaks for millions.

Trump’s success comes from the issues he has seized upon — illegal immigration and trade deals that deindustrialized America — and brazen defiance of Republican elites and a media establishment.

By now the whole world has heard Trump’s declaration:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. … They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

Politically incorrect? You betcha.

Yet, is Trump not raising a valid issue? Is there not truth in what he said? Is not illegal immigration, and criminals crossing our Southern border, an issue of national import, indeed, of national security?

Women and girls crossing Mexico on trains are raped by gangs. The “coyotes” leading people illegally across the U.S. border include robbers, rapists and killers, who often leave these people to die in the desert.

State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America” by this writer in 2006 cited researcher Heather Mac Donald of Manhattan Institute. She reported that two-thirds of the 17,000 outstanding fugitive felony warrants in Los Angeles were for illegal immigrants, as were 95 percent of 1,200-1,500 outstanding warrants for homicide.

Of 20,000 members of the 18th Street Gang operating across Southern California, 12,000 were illegal immigrants. One of the Beltway Snipers, who terrorized the D.C. area, shooting 13 and killing 10, was a 17-year-old illegal immigrant from Jamaica, John Lee Malvo.

The reaction to Trump’s comments has been instructive. NBC and Univision dropped his Miss USA and Miss Universe contests.

Macy’s has dropped the Trump clothing line. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is talking of terminating city contracts with Trump.

The reaction of Trump’s Republican rivals has been even more instructive. Initially, it was muted. But when major media began to demand that GOP candidates either denounce Trump or come under suspicion or racism themselves, the panic and pile-on began.

As The Washington Times relates, at a July 4 parade in New Hampshire, Jeb Bush said Trump “doesn’t represent the Republican Party or its values.

“I don’t assume that he thinks that every Mexican crossing the border is a rapist. … So he’s doing this to inflame and to incite and to draw attention, which seems to be his organizing principle of his campaign.”

Sen. Marco Rubio also found his voice. Trump’s comments “were not just offensive and inaccurate, but also divisive.”

Imagine that, “divisive” politics.

Ex-Gov. Rick Perry said Trump’s remarks were “offensive,” as “Hispanics in America and Hispanics in Texas, from the Alamo to Afghanistan, have been extraordinary … citizens of our country.”

But most of the Hispanics at the Alamo were in the Mexican army of Santa Anna, not under Col. Travis, and hardly “extraordinary citizens of our country” as Texas did not even belong to the USA then.

Sen. Ted Cruz on NBC’s “Meet the Press” took a different stance: “I salute Donald Trump for focusing on the need to address illegal immigration.”

“The Washington cartel doesn’t want to address that. The Washington cartel doesn’t believe we need to secure the border. The Washington cartel supports amnesty, and I think amnesty’s wrong.”

Trump “has a colorful way of speaking,” said Cruz, “It’s not the way I speak. But I’m not going to engage in the media’s game of throwing rocks and attacking other Republicans.” Cruz might have added, “like Jeb and Rick and Marco are doing.”

What Trump has done, and Cruz sees it, is to have elevated the illegal immigration issue, taken a tough line, and is now attacking GOP rivals who have dithered or done nothing to deal with it.

Trump intends to exploit the illegal immigration issue, and the trade issue, where majorities of middle-class Americans oppose the elites. And he is going to ride them as far as he can in the Republican primaries.

In the coming debates, look for Trump to take the populist and popular side of them both. And for Cruz to stand by him on illegal immigration.

Americans are fed up with words; they want action. Trump is moving in the polls because, whatever else he may be, he is a man of action.

Trump is a goof who uses other people’s money and labour as if it were his own. He is a buffoonish parasitic crook. How embarassing it must be to live in a country where he is actually running for public office. US is truly licking the bottom of the shit barrel this election.

Jim Webb looks plausible.

God help us all.

“Illegal aliens left an estimated 1,000 tons of trash while crossing the Arizona border into the United States last year, according to state officials.” http://cnsnews.com/news/article/epa-s-border-environmental-agreement-ignores-damage-done-illegal-aliens.

“But most of the Hispanics at the Alamo were in the Mexican army of Santa Anna, not under Col. Travis, and hardly “extraordinary citizens of our country” as Texas did not even belong to the USA then.”

In 1830, Mexico passed a law prohibiting Americans to immigrate to Texas and specifically banned slavery. There was also a border dispute between the US and Mexico, and Old Hickory wanted as much Mexican Texas land as possible. The 1830 law and the border dispute could not be enforced by Mexico because of the corruption and political turmoil in Mexico City. After a revolving door of presidents, General Santa Anna finally took over power. He crushed a rebellion in Zacatecas, and the Americans in northern Texas believed they were next so they started to prepare militarily. The American “rebels” captured San Antonio and forced the Mexican army across the Rio Grande. Santa Anna wanted the rebels out of their lands and won victories at the Alamo and Goliad. However, he was captured at San Jacinto by Sam Huston’s army and gave the Texans their freedom. The US bought Texas and California from General Anna for 3.5 million dollars.

Andrew Jackson did not want an independent Texas. He felt it would be a threat to America and Mexico because he believed an European nation (France or England) would be able to conquer it.

This man has had 4 chapter 11 bankruptcies (so far), he has left a path of destruction in the industry he inhabits, causing many “little people” untold financial problems. He has been married three times (so far.) He is supposed educated however speaks like as a school yard bully would. he is a clown complete with the circus hair (Bozo would kill for that look).
The most troubling issue is that nobody has called him out for what he truly is….a morally bankrupt narcissist.
The only thing that exceeds his arrogance is his ego…cant wait for his 15 minutes to be up

Trump is saying crazy crap in the name of the Republican Party to give progressives an opportunity to marginalize those who defend the soverignty of the USA. He is the Manchurian candidate whose job is to discredit the conservative and libertarian movement. He is a fascist insider who does not believe the thing he is saying.

American productive class wants a fighter and he is perceived as such. In our gut we know that borders must be secured. Intuitively we know that Repukes and Demok Rats are feeding us bullshit. Trump is just an excuse to paint us as bigots and racists. He knows what he is doing and will still be rich and privileged when this is over.

@ tbone,
I heard a story about how Trump was prone to contract for work (building, etc.) and then stiff the contractor, telling them in effect “go ahead and sue me, I have an army of lawyers I pay just to stonewall people like you.”

He’s no more honest than is Hillary Criminal. These people are ALL scorpions, they are demons in human form, the scourge of humanity.

Trump is, however, focus-grouping an important thing, and that is…when the current antebellum period (in economics) ends and we plunge into an abyss of financial chaos and broken promises, BOTH existing political parties will be utterly destroyed, abandoned (finally) by previously complacent but now ENRAGED voters.

There will be a window of opportunity for a properly placed “new” politician, someone not too much associated with the previous gang of criminals but “known” enough (with name and face recognition) to splinter into a new political party.

Trump may well be trying to pre-position for this. If so, he’s among the most cunning predators in the sheep’s pen.

I’ve had a close encounter with more than one beautiful Mexican Señorita, sitting in my most favorite Mexican resturant drinking my second jumbo Margarita as I post this, so trashing the brown people from the land of the Aztecs is difficult for me. Why? My waitress is fucking gorgeous, her English is less than perfect, makes me feel better about my less than optimal skills, so a clear unbiased view point is impossible for me, regardless, here’s my solution to the illegal immigration dilemma. Let’s seal the border now, create a two mile buffer zone, anyone in that zone is extinguished no questions asked, no exceptions made. If you are undocumented and commit a crime you are deported instantly no question asked, no appeals process. Then create a ten year step by step process to citizenship, Number one, learn English to a minimum standard of a redneck from Arkansas.

Another absolutely brilliant policy crafted by Sensetti
Make it so!

@dc.sunsets
I know personally of cases of Trump declaring bankruptcy leaving his suppliers and subcontractors to twist in the wind. Trump is on TV, and they are picking through garbage cans in Atlantic city looking for dinner, and Trump brags about.
I agreed we will emerge from the antebellum period into a new political reality, kind of similar to the aftermath of the Reichstag fire, this time instead of the new leader persecuting Gypsies and Jews DT will be hunting Mexicans and Chinese.

BTW I think the next political order will not be organized by “voting” if you know what I mean.

Hail Trump!

“The 73-year-old Sanders may have no chance of beating Hillary. But the size of his crowds testifies that he speaks for millions.” ———- from the article

I wonder if you, like me, see the insanity revealed in those two sentences.

Sanders literally fills STADIUMS. Hillary has to hire/pay folks to show up at her photo ops.

Yet …. Sanders has “no chance”, and Hillary is still in the running and has a great chance. Why does Hillcunt even have a chance when it is clear she’s being ignored? Because SOMEONE ELSE, not the voter, decides who will be president. That quote above couldn’t make it any more clear.

@Stucky: Agreed 100%. Americans are fed up with all the gravy flowing to the top .01% who could give a shit about America or Americans.
Regarding Trump, my understanding is he employs illegals on his various “projects”. If this is proven then the gas will be out of the bag.
On the subject of illegal aliens, are we not a nation of laws? And by crossing the border illegally you’ve broken our laws. I don’t get how these fucking politicians can abide by that; aren’t we good Americans supposed to abide by our laws? We sure as hell don’t need more suckers on the gov teat, do we? All this current “dreamer” bullshit does is grind down the American standard of living that much lower with each illegal that crosses. And what’s with this “sanctuary city” bullshit?
I say deport ’em all and let their country of origin foot the bill.

I don’t care anymore.

I’m just going to keep on stacking it high and deep, tribe up with like-minded folks and just “wait for the asteroid”, so to speak…

Nobody’s gonna do shit anyways… except serve themselves and rob/rape as much shit for themselves as possible while they’re in office. It’s just kabuki theater. This country is done. Some of the folks are worth saving though, and that’s what I’m gonna concentrate on…. what I can affect within my sphere of influence.

Wall. No wall. Illegals. Amnesty. Wall Street imploding. Flash mobs/robs. The knockout game. Phony-assed “war on drugs”. Neverending “war on terror”. Thug cops indistinguishable from their thug criminal counterparts. Junk-grabbing incompetent TSA. NSA sticking cameras up my ass.

I’m just fuckin done… fuck all this shit.

Paulo says: “Trump is a goof who uses other people’s money and labour as if it were his own. He is a buffoonish parasitic crook”

Sounds like a politician.

Yes, this nation is fucked, this world is pretty well fucked, it would seem. President elections have become multi-year, multi-billion dollar circle jerks where not one real issue is debated and not one honest, critical thought is expressed. Trump is a goof, a megalomaniac, a narcissist, a thief and a scoundrel. He is, however, NOT named Clinton or Bush, he is NOT bought and paid for by billionaires (being one himself) and he is NOT a professional politician. I won’t vote for him should he ever make a ballot, I probably won’t vote at all, but I at least recognize that it will make ZERO difference in the long run who makes it into the White House in 2016 and Trump makes the whole thing both more entertaining and more absurd. It would be truly funny if whichever psychotic egomaniac that does get elected were not given nuclear launch codes.

Get some popcorn ready.

Rand Paul has to much common sense to win. Rubio seems like he would have a chance.

Either way,Were screwed. Congress is what it is. The debt will be our downfall. Any so called enemy? They don’t have to fire a shot. Obama is overloading the country so it will fail.Cloward and Piven stuff.

Hell, I would take Trump over any of the main-stream knitwits who the MSM say are the real contenders. He is not bought and paid for, at least. He can say or do anything he wants. Wealth and age have that effect on some folks.

I suspect hi is in it for fun. Stirring the pot can be a real hoot. He should come flame newbies on TBP. I bet he would enjoy that.

Lipoh – I’m with you. Anybody that thinks any mainstream Dem or Rep is going to care about the citizens is absolutely stupid. Obama enriched the Banksters, Mega-Corps, Hedge Funds, and Private Equity Groups and gave a hearty Fuck-You to the everyday citizen..
Rep’s just recently passed the TPP. The problem is Career Politicians bought and paid for by the Corporate Masters. Bonehead and McConnell wouldn’t allow Ron Paul to be a Pres. candidate.

Fuck all the registered Dem’s and Rep’s.
A rusty beer can as Pres. is better than a Dem or Rep.

Jim Webb voted to keep the Patriot Act and Yea to NDAA in 2011. No thanks.

Sanders voted the right way on those and other things (he voted against TARP and repealing Glass-Stegall, for example) but he also gutted Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill, and recently said that Paul Krugman and Robert “Koch Brothers Evil, Soros Great” Reich would be perfect for his cabinet. I’ll pass.

In terms of it being predetermined: well of course. Ron Paul pulled bigger crowds in 2011 than Sanders is pulling now. But like Hillary, Romney had already been chosen.

The Republicans won’t let Trump run or any other candidate that would change the direction our country is heading.

They put on a little show of being different than Democrats, but in the end they are the same. That’s why they give Obama everything he wants and asks for without regard to what those who elected them want.

If necessary, they’ll throw the election to make sure nothing changes as demonstrated in the last two elections where they ran their weakest candidate against Obama to insure his victory.
