I like the knee drop to the head near the beginning, real classy and so effective at getting your point across. I met a gentleman the other last weekend who was a cop for 5 years on the south shore. One of the reasons he quit was the type of people that were getting into the profession. He said the number one thing cops do is protect each others back under any and all circumstances. That sounds all well and good until it starts protecting the thuggish behavior that is so often coming to light now. I wonder how much they got away with before cameras on cell phones and dash cams.

The man identified by The Daily News as Alando Brissett, 25, reportedly got into an argument with an employee at the Target retail outlet in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn on Saturday night, when he demanded a receipt after returning bottles. Police were summoned when he refused to leave the store.
In a video recorded by Brooklyn resident Michael Rolland on Saturday evening, five NYPD officers hold down a young man on the floor of a Target shopping center in Brooklyn and beat him with their fists.
According to Rolland, he shot the video at around 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, inside the Target on Flatbush Avenue near Nostrand. (Better known as the Brooklyn Junction Target.)
Rolland says on Facebook that he’s not sure what the young man did, but that the police response seemed ”totally disproportionate and put his life at risk.”
An NYPD spokesperson says that the incident is under internal review.
In Rolland’s video, officers can be seen pressing the man into the floor as they pummel his back and neck. Although parts of the video are obscured by a growing crowd of NYPD officers and concerned Target customers, the beating appears to last about 20 seconds.
“Stop hitting him!” one woman yells repeatedly in the background.
According to Rolland: “From what I can tell they were beating him on the back because he refused to let go of the Bible (or other large gilded book) he was holding onto.”
Patch has reached out to Target for more information on the incident.
UPDATE: An NYPD spokesperson says the man in the video, “who refused to identify himself,” was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, trespassing and disorderly conduct.
And Target’s press office says in a statement that Target employees were the ones to call police:
“At Target, we take the safety and security of our guests, team members and property very seriously. Following concerning behavior by one of our guests, the team contacted law enforcement.”
Rolland, the Brooklyn resident who shot the above footage, is a 31-year-old graduate student at CUNY.
He says in an interview with Patch that “about five minutes or so before that happened, I was walking toward the registers, next to the women’s section, and I believe already two officers were trying to get him to leave Target. And it seemed like he didn’t want to leave.”
Minutes later, as Rolland was about to head downstairs on an escalator, he says he heard a commotion coming from the front of the store — so he ran over and started to record.
As of 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Rolland says YouTube’s analytics tool tells him his video has been viewed nearly 50,000 times.
”I think it needs attention,” he says. ”I think it should be investigated.”

Teens Mistakenly Knock On Door Of Cop – Shots Fired, Manhunt Ensues
New_Jersey_State_Police.svg(PSD) Three teenagers were shot at and hunted down like dogs early Saturday morning after mistakenly knocking on the door of a New Jersey State Trooper in Sparta.
The teens reportedly had left a high-school graduation party and were attempting to meet a friend at his home on West Mountain Road.
Instead, they erroneously went to the home next door, and after repeatedly ringing the doorbell and loudly knocking, the unidentified trooper came to the door and yelled at them before they ran away.
The three got into a vehicle and the officer fired three gun shots as they attempted to flee, disabling the car about a half a mile away where two of them – John Baker-Marasco and Jesse Farcorn – were apprehended and taken to the Netcong Trooper Barracks for questioning and processing.
The third, Matthew Mayer, fled on foot, witness say.
Sparta Police and the New Jersey State Police were quickly dispatched and a manhunt ensued involving a helicopter equipped with a spot-light, canine units, foot patrols, and vehicles – which scoured the scene, questioned homeowners and searched private property.
Mayer was eventually found and arrested.
It is not clear what the teens were charged with and involved police agencies have said they cannot comment on the possible charges since the attorney general’s office is conducting the investigation.
The Press Office of the attorney general’s office has not yet responded to requests for comment made by local news outlets.
The startling story precludes the reality that police envision themselves as a protected class in society – to shoot first and ask questions later – even when off-duty.
The reaction has troubled local residents who were awoke to a martial law type abuse of private property rights in the wee hours of the morning during the search.
One homeowner complained that their home and property was searched and another said the police officers came to their home and questioned them about Mayer – but it is not clear how many total homes were combed through during the “investigation.”
