Mom gets 800 rounds of ammo from Toys r us when she ordered a Minecraft sword.

Maybe the kid was running Flan’s Mod?

All a Virginia Beach mother wanted to do was order a foam Minecraft sword for her son’s eighth birthday from Toys R Us. Well, apparently, someone in that supply line had a sh*tload of ammunition they wanted to get rid of.

Because when the online shopper opened the UPS delivered package Sept. 30, that’s what she found.

Local channel 13 News Now has the story:

Jasemin Stephenson says she ordered a “Minecraft Foam Diamond Sword” from the toy store’s website last week.

When the package arrived Tuesday, Stephenson says she found 800 rounds of 9mm ammunition in the box, along with the sword.

Fail of the Day: Police Break Open Car Window to Save One Very Realistic Doll

What started out as a rescue mission to save a baby left laying in the front seat of a locked car ended in embarrassment for police in Dudley, West Midlands.

After a concerned citizen notified the police of an infant in danger, officers jumped into action—smashing Delesia Rattray’s car window. But they didn’t find what they expected.

When Rattray returned to her car she found a note from police telling her to call the station. Fearing that a baby’s life was in danger, the police smashed her window to save what turned out to be Rattray’s 10-year-old sister’s baby doll.

The doll was wrapped in a blanket with only its head poking out. Police have since apologized and agreed to cover the cost of replacing the window.

You tried, Dudley police. You tried.

Wow, when I ordered my daughter’s Mindcrap sword, all I got was a lousy foam sword.

WHY did she turn this in? Wow, I definitely don’t live in the same world as most do.

And, can someone tell me how on a cloudy, cool, British day, the baby needed to be saved?

Whatever happened to “no harm, no foul” and “mind your own business?”

A sleeping baby in a cool car is a cop emergency? Our safety needs have gone over to the insanity side. Won’t be much longer and bubble wrap will be the new mandatory dress code for Western schools.

TE – it is an offence to leave a child unattended in a car. The Police had VERY reasonable suspicion, and so acted on that suspicion. Simple as that.

Dudley Police are really under no “obligation” to meet the costs of their actions – the financial consequences for leaving a VERY realistic Baby doll in a car lies with the owner of said car. The fact that Dudley Police are mitigating the loss of others (even when the “loss” is directly attributable to lack of thought on behalf of the car owner) says a great deal, when we compare the standards of UK vs US “Policing” doesn’t it . . . . . . .

As for “cool, cloudy” day – cars act as very efficient greenhouses, and it takes VERY little infrared absorption to raise the temperature very significantly, as you must certainly know from leaving your car unattended on a cold, but sunny, day. Also look up thermoregulation in neonates: It takes VERY little overtemperature to cause very significant injury, hence the numbers of very well-reported paediatric deaths in unattended vehicles – even in “temperate” climates.
