A day after we ran “Meet Your “Independent” Media, America“, in which we showed how prime time entertainment like 60 Minutes is strategically and voluntarily “planted” with propaganda trolls and “concerns” thus crushing any “unbiased” credibility mainstream US media may have, we dug into the archives to bring you “Conspiracy Theory Rock.”
This cartoon created by SNL cartoonist Robert Smigel in 1998 ran once in a “TV Funhouse” segment, and has been since removed from all subsequent airings of the Saturday Night Live episodes. As a reminder, 90% of US media is currently controlled by 6 corporations: General Electric, News Corp., Disney, Viacom, Time Warner and CBS…
… whose shareholders vastly overlap.

Well, it’s funny now because for once the propaganda facade of the mainstream media cracked from within, and the result was this critique of corporate media ownership, including then NBC’s ownership by General Electric/Westinghouse, and how only the stuff the owners deem appropriate is distributed for general consumption.
We doubt the current parent of NBC (and CNBC), Comcast, would play it either.
This has been going on for a very long time. However, the concentration of “journalistic power” makes it easier to fabricate “incidents” and “make news”. Even walter cronkite was a piece of garbage who was expert at manipulating “news stories”, no different than our current crop of journalist serial liars and news “fabricators”…the advantage we have now, is that the internet makes it possible to expose and shame those who use their “journalist credentials” to foment and disseminate lies and fabrications…
The criminal misreporting of the 1968 “Tet offensive” was but one example of outright lies and fabrication by this so-called “anchorman”…despite the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong suffering massive losses (that would have forced the North Vietnamese to the “bargaining table”) walter cronkite “aided and abetted” the North Vietnamese by declaring the Tet offensive to be a “military defeat” for the Americans and South Vietnamese. This single action gave the communists renewed resolve and extended the war for YEARS. Of course, cronkite and his “fellow travelers” never met a communist that they did not like.
cronkite is in the same boat as walter duranty of the ‘new york times” that dismissed the forced famine in the Ukraine while extolling the virtues of communism…
It seems that most journalists have an affinity for communism, although under a communist system, they would most likely be the first to be “liquidated”…
Show who owns the media and how they got the money to buy America. The current news shows clips but the adjectives used by the talking heads reading TPTB scripts is what gives them away. With sound, It’s pathetic comedy 10 minutes and ads 20 minutes.
Just as all 8 Hollywood major production studios are run by you know whoooos. So is the rest of the media.
