And the irony is the other two guys are really willing to work for their pay, while the other guy bases his worth off of the contract agreement.

Unions created the middle class, right?

Not long before Kaiser Aluminum went under, the steelworkers there went on strike. Moron union members made more money than the vast majority of area citizens, had better health care, retirement, vacation, sick leave and every other perk. As the strike dragged on, they started going door to door asking people to put “I support Kaiser Steelworkers” signs in their windows. I got quite a few laughs deriding them for walking out on a better job that most in the area would ever have.

Sometime later Kaiser relented and the morons began a big celebration with huge processions for each shift returning to work. A VERY short time later Kaiser announced the permanent closure of one plant and 95% closure of the other. Got a huge laugh out of that! I still laugh about it.

L3 Communications in town, formerly General Dynamics, formerly Teledyne Continental Motors.

At one time they had two plants running three shifts and employed 5,000+ where in the 80’s you could get a job starting out at $15.00 an hour.

Muskegon had quite a few union shops, and working in the trades I was union as well. All through the 80’s there seemed to be a shift in worker mentality from being union worker proud to Fuck the company.

No shit, there were machine operators at Sealed Power that would intentionally sabotage their machines thinking they were somehow punishing management.

At Teledyne the contract was “an honest days pay for an honest days work” So these union dregs could quickly fill their quota and go sit down and get paid.
They couldn’t leave the factory so on my 21st birthday I worked on the large room where the factory rats could sit and play cards, watch tv, read, or sleep, while they got paid for the day.

The kicker was there was no provision in the contract for quality work, so the UAW cocksuckers could fill a bin with rejected parts and still get paid. My engineers said the Muskegon plant produced 45%, the rest was scrap.

That plant now employs about 200. The union fucked themselves.

People forget why the Labor movement got started in this country. Soon enough, they will remember again.

Did it get started to extract money from the workers and eventually destroy their jobs? If so, I haven’t forgotten.

My Dad was union, and it was the only way he was able to raise 5 kids on a pipefitter’s wages. Mom stayed at home raising us. Unions are needed in the trades. I don’t agree with gov workers unions.

You union haters will not be satisfied until we are all making Mexican wages and shopping at the Wal Mart…..
