A record amount of shit was flung on TBP last month. Yesterday produced the 2nd highest daily visitor count in TBP history at 32,000 visitors. The daily average topped the 18,500 mark, the highest monthly average in TBP history. The total visitor count of 555,000 for the month was up 50% over last November. We surpassed the 5.5 million mark for the year and should end the year above 6 million. There isn’t much different about the site versus last year, so I’d attribute the 50% increase in visitors to the worsening of our economic, social, political and global outlook. More people realize they are getting lied to by politicians, bankers, government drones, and the dying corporate media. They are seeking the truth elsewhere and are ending up here. We’ll keep the shit flinging and see what 2016 brings. Thanks for your support and the commentary stream that is often better than the articles posted.

I see TBP articles, especially the Fourth Turning series, posted all around the Internet at patriot sites, alternate news, right wing sites, uber-right wing sites, conspiracy sites, etc.
This place is unique, that’s all there is to it. It goes to show what a good mix of humor, social commentary, philosophy, cartoons, movie clips, politics and some very serious topics can do in a free and uncensored Internet.

I too wonder why more people don’t leave a comment. There are quite a few new people just in the last month who have continued to comment which is great.
I think it is mostly Admin’s fine articles and his bending to allow alternative views to the “official story” as people ARE seeking the truth and the truth is sometime hard to embrace. Even Stucky has written a article that challenges the owners veil of lies and a year ago I would have bet that would not happen.

@BeaLever…for a couple years I didn’t dare comment because of the SFMs (see? I AM trainable and can use the acronym with ease now). After the loss of AWD (may he rest in peace in paradise or in a room full of very large women with cottage cheese thighs and buttocks), I, like others, had to enter to at least say something nice about his commentary and his odd taste in women. (Yes, I know it was a joke and that he probably* did not like extremely obese women.)
It was strange though, now that I look back and think about it. I felt a sense of camaraderie here at TBP that prompted me to speak up then out of respect for a unique personality that came through in his writing and his comments.
I think there are a lot of other readers out there who sense the same.

this site only reminds me of how critical the 1st amendment is to any hope the republic has any chance. i thank jim, all the articles and posts, generally very civil. i enjoy zerohedge and the comments can be humorous and informative yet brutal. we are fortunate not to have trolls that disruption is considered informative. maybe the on negative to increased readership. i for one corrupt the numbers by visiting many times during a normal day.

I don’t actively keep track of such things but it seems to me that admin put out an monumental number of original works this past year. Despite the antics of we STM’s, I’m sure that is the major draw for most readers. TBP gains a small number of demented regulars each year but I’d bet most readers fear they’ve stumbled into a mental ward when reading comments here.
I should add that it seems like admin got his fighting spirit back in the latter half of this year! I like the feisty admin much better than the one who was burnt out and ready to bail!
Makes me wonder how much has to do with people like rush limbaugh mentioning TBP on the air. Its good for you, and good that more people may wake up. It worries me that with rush fans coming here, the comment section is going to get overrun with republitard/neo con types. I TBP from the articles being posted on zerohedge a few years ago, and the ZH comment section is WAY different since drudge started occasionally linking to it. A lot more of the garden-variety republican types there now. The way the comments go now vs leading up to the 2012 election is quite different. Wouldn’t want this site to take the same path, but it seems like in the couple years since I started occasionally posting here, its mostly the usual suspects. But thanks for doing what you do, admin. I know it takes a lot of work, and would be happy to help in any way I can. You do run a great site.
