Hey, I know I promised that the next Muck’s Minute would be on immigration and some possible ways and means to handle the problem. This came up first, caught my mind and I needed to cover it first. Never fear, more to come.
Can you believe that over 40% of a recent survey of millennial generation members believe that free speech should be curtailed to avoid offending anyone?
Can you believe that the University of Chicago recently fired a lecturer for language used in a class for prospective teachers to instruct them what they may encounter in inner-city schools?
Can you believe that a Florida cop recently was suspended without pay for uttering profanity when trying to arrest a convicted felon following a robbery and “offended” a nearby citizen?
Can you believe that on a recent visit by Iran’s HNIC (Head Nut in Charge) that the Vatican bustled around and modestly covered all the nude statues at the Vatican so that the bearded, turbaned (obviously innocent and unaware of sex) Iranian would not be embarrassed by them?
Can you believe that back in November of 2015, students of Amherst University staged a protest to remove “Free Speech” signs that were posted on campus. It offended them.
Can you believe that a law professor (at a sadly un-named university) called upon a limit to free speech because he feared that ISIS would use it to legally spread falsehoods, terriorist talk and such crap?
Can you believe that in Great Britain their “Advertising Standards Authority”, hence known as ASA banned an advertisement for a protein for weight loss because it featured a slick lady in a bikini might “offended” other women who claim they “body share the plump” (whatever the hell that means).
Or how about the same ASA banning an ad for hair products that “offended Christians by having Nuns in suspenders. Good Crap!
Can you believe that IN THE USA, a Minnesota school has banned Valentines Day, Christmas and other “dominant holidays” to prevent students from “diverse” cultures from feeling “left out”?
Or how about how about the Louisiana State University fired a professor for using rude words in a class designed to teach future teachers what they might expect to hear should they be assigned to inner city schools? No free speech at Louisiana State!
Further, the University of Chicago now has taken upon itself to banish experssion the “invades substantial privacy” and to regulate the “time, place and manner of expression” on any chance someone, (read minority) might be offended.
Can you believe that a Florida school board banned uniforms so as not to exclude those whose religious dress (read Hajib or head scarves) from a feeling of non participation.
It’s gone way beyond what I’ve listed – which is just a tiny list from one day’s news.
These are the very tiny tip of the iceberg of how free expression and free speech in our used to be great country are being whittled away, one rule at a time.
No one has a right to scream “Fire” in a crowded theater for obvious reasons. Free speech does not include threats of harm (bodily or otherwise) to another individual or organization. It is also in extremely poor taste to start rumors of disease, flooding, a natural disaster or some other rumor guaranteed to get a lot of people upset.
Political Correctness, however, has been taken to insane levels and it grows and grows like a cancer.
It must stop and STOP NOW.
Being so sensitive to another feelings to the extreme that prohibits language or actions that “may” offend them that our own free speech, celebrating traditional holidays and such is being threatened as never before and just reading a medium quality regional newspaper almost daily publishes yet another example of PC being used to suppress free speech, restriction of legal and proper behavior (discounting those who are arse-holes in the first place who prefer to disrupt and destroy rather than get along or work in concert with others).
The fact is that acclimation of people of a different culture takes time and effort – as the Swedes are learning daily. Their problems are surely to generate a vast backlash against taking in anyone of a foreign cultural regardless of the simple fact that the vast majority of would-be immigrants simply wish to escape death, starvation and extinction in their countries of origin. They seek shelter, minimal food and medical assistance and an opportunity to work and begin the long path to assimilation in their new country. Almost to a man(boy or woman) would rather have stayed in they own country but faced death, starvation and terrorism and so they fled.
Oh sure – with the refugees comes embedded bad guys who hope to spread the gospel of Islam but they are a tremendous minority and that minority is even smaller when they manage to get into a (relatively) free country where they see the possibilities of making a new life. Terrorists fight because of two things: They have nothing left to lose, so they lose it. They are so radicalized by their rotten religion that they cannot break free. More females are joining the ranks of these religious terror-mongers but I’ve never heard of an explanation for this trend. Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria seem quite adept in inserting female suicide bombers among fleeing populous then blowing themselves up to cause maxim death and mayhem. Perhaps if they don’t do as they are bid, they can look forward to a much harsher death than mere suicide.
I don’t know but if anyone has an insight, I’d love to know it.
All in all, if we don’t pull up our man (and women) pants, stand up and be heard in churchs, communities and schools, pretty soon our children will consider the limiting of free speech and the celebration of traditional holidays to be a normal situation..
Not a good thing for Americans and we need to stop it now..

Controversial film shown at VA high school slammed as ‘White guilt’ video

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) –
Some Henrico parents are outraged about a controversial video shown at Glen Allen High School. It tackles things like racial profiling and the school to prison to pipeline.
The YouTube video titled “Structural Discrimination: The Unequal Opportunity Race,” was shown to students at a Glen Allen High School Black History month program.
“Dr. King gave his life so that America would be a place where we are judged by the content of our character not the color of our skin,” said radio personality Craig Johnson. “Now we have poverty pimps being led by our current president Barack Obama who all they talk about is the color of skin.”
A concerned parent wrote a letter complaining the video is leading to tensions in school.
“Y’all are privileged. Get the — blank — over it,” read one of numerous tweets about the topic said the parent.
Don Blake’s granddaughter attended the assembly.
“They are sitting there watching a video that is dividing them up from a racial standpoint. It’s a White guilt kind of video,” said Blake. “I think somebody should be held accountable for this.”

The huge flow of people from the mid-east into France and Europe is in full flight. Many of these so-called “immigrants” are pillaging and raping their way across the lands in such numbers as has not been seen since the Crusades and middle ages.
