Dr. Tim Ball: How the world was deceived about global warming and climate change

Via The Rebel

Current weather is normal; that is, it is well within the range of all previous weather and climate variations. There are no dramatic increases in temperature, precipitation, hurricanes, tornadoes, or any other severe weather. The climate is changing just as it always has and always will and the rate of change is perfectly normal. Of course, that is not what the government, environmentalists, or the media promote and as a result most of the public believe. The misconception is deliberate and central to the exploitation of global warming and climate change as the vehicle for a political agenda.

One phenomenon that creates the illusion weather is abnormal is the attention given by the media. We all experience being introduced to a person then seeing them pop up every time we turn around. It’s the same thing with cars after you buy one you see them everywhere. In both cases they were always there, but not part of your awareness. Weather and climate events seem to occur everyday, but it is because they became a media story. They always occurred. Now the story appears and is amplified by the sensationalism of the media with their “Extreme Weather Reports.”

Picture1.jpg

The entire objective of those pursuing the political agenda was to create the illusion that current weather is abnormal and therefore unnatural. They wanted to show that all this occurred in the last 100 years as a result of human industrial activity. The objective was to create false science, which was easy because few people know about weather and climate, a fact confirmed by a Yale University study that created a High School exam. Figure 1 shows the raw results with 52 percent getting an F and 25 percent a D for a total failure of 77 percent.

Picture2

Figure 1

Promoters of the false story also knew people know even less about climate. Indeed, most don’t even know the difference between weather and climate. Weather is the atmospheric conditions you experience at any point in time. The climate is the average of those conditions in a region or over time.

A few years ago I wrote, but didn’t submit, a story for the Globe and Mail with the headline, “An Area of Arctic Ice Twice the Size of Vancouver Island Melted today.” The story then revealed that this was a normal amount of melt. Imagine my surprise when recently it appeared in reality! The headline I tongue-in-cheek considered writing was in a national newspaper:

Melting in the Arctic reached an all-time high in June: Ice has been disappearing at a rate of 29,000 square miles a day.

This is near the average daily rate of melt in the brief Arctic summer, but few people know this is natural. Approximately 10 million km2 of ice melts every summer in approximately 145 days, which is a melt rate of 68,965 km2 (26,627 square miles) per day. The amount mentioned is well within the wide variation in melt from year to year.

Figure 2 provides a brief context to show the wider natural range of temperature over the last 10,000 years. It shows the temperature of the Northern Hemisphere derived from Greenland ice cores.

Picture3

Figure 2

The current temperature is on the right (red line). Some salient points that expose the lies and distortions;

* The world was warmer than today for 97 percent of the last 10,000 years, a period known variously as the Climatic Optimum, or more recently the Holocene Optimum. We have known about this warmer period for at least 75 years.

* The world was 2°C warmer than today 1000 years ago during the Medieval warming. Remember, you are told that the world is going to warm by 2°C, and that is catastrophic.

* The world was 4°C warmer than today during the Minoan warming.

* We are told the amount and rate of temperature increase in the last 100 years (shown in red) is abnormal. Compare the slope with any of the previous increases.

* The green line indicates the larger trend and shows that the Earth has cooled for approximately the last 7000 years.

The CO2 changes over this period, but those changes follow the temperature. The global warming proponents tell the public it is the opposite. As in all temperature changes, there is a logical explanation that does not include CO2. In this case the longer trend fits what is called the Milankovitch Effect (ME). These are the collective changes caused by Sun/Earth relationships, including orbit, tilt, and precession of the Equinox (Figure 3).

Picture4

Figure 3

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) does not include the ME in their computer models that are the source of predictions about future climate. No wonder they are always wrong.

The existence of the ME explains, beyond lack of knowledge, why the public is susceptible to the natural/unnatural ploy. Most people think the Earth’s orbit round the Sun is a small, unchanging ellipse. Science knew this was incorrect years ago. Joseph Adhémar (1797-1862) proposed that the likely cause of climate change in the earth’s solar orbit.

James Croll expanded the idea and calculated orbital eccentricity effects on solar radiation for different latitudes over 3 million years, and published the results in 1867. The primary cause of the orbital change is the gravitational pull of the planet Jupiter. It is a significant change. (Figure 4).

Picture5

Figure 4

The cycle is 100,000 years, but that is from minimum to maximum ellipse and back to the minimum. The solar energy currently received when the Earth is closest to the Sun (perihelion) varies from +3.5% to -3.5%. When furthest away (aphelion) 20,000 years ago the difference was +8.5% and -8.5%.

Today, 149 years later, this is little known to most. The main reason is that it contradicts the philosophical basis of Western science, uniformitarianism. This is the idea that change is gradual over long periods of time. A quick look at the geologic or any other natural record shows it is false. However, it means people are easily persuaded that a change, especially sudden change, is unnatural.

People were vulnerable and therefore easily fooled. Worse, the deceivers deliberately changed the record to enhance their deception. They created what is natural or normal. Watch the video by Tony Heller (aka Steve Goddard) in which he demonstrates the changes made to the instrumental temperature record, all deliberately designed to enhance warming. These are the people who brand those who question the science as deniers and criminals. This is why it is the greatest deception, but worse, a deliberate deception.

Where is Alex Ac. Please drop by and refute what the Good Dr. Ball, how apropos, has to say.

It does beg the question. There must have been quite a few Minotaurs farting methane all those years ago to create the exceptional greenhouse conditions that were present at that time. The Greeks must have been quite efficient at killing them off because temperature dropped off a cliff in the succeeding centuries after that age ended.

Yup it was the minotaur holocaust is what was responsible for cooling of earth.

I’m sitting here in Minneapolis, where 10,000 – 12,000 years ago was covered in one mile of glacial ice.

What happened to the ice? It warmed up and melted. But I guess it was OK then.

So don’t you think it could warm up some more? Besides, we’re eventually going to have another ice age.

Make a GloBULL Warmers head spin by asking :

“Have We Ever Had An Ice Age ” ?
Yes.
“How Did It End ” ?

Ah it got warmer

“OK,How many factories were around during the last Ice Age ” ?

One more question to screw up their minds.

“What should the ideal temperature World Wide be and how do we achieve it ” ?

So let’s see- Dr. Tim Ball is not even a physical scientist. He’s a geographer. He has NO standing in the scientific community.

So we have thousands of climate researchers, hundreds of universities & other involved insitutions from different institutions and countries. These researchers and universities are in full competition with each other- they are not buddies who joyfully cook up stuff together to make a little cash. They are competitors- even enemies.

These scientists make their names in science by DESTROYING each other’s research and conclusions. They try to discredit each other’s research and put their own research out front.

Do you REALLY believe that top scientists seek orders from corrupt politicians about making up scientific evidence? Do you REALLY think that Dr. James Hansen of NASA got together with pols like Al Gore and liberal polticians to cook up climate change evidence in exchange for a little cash?

And do you REALLY think that climate scientists from Russia/China/EU would really corrupt their entire career and profession to cut deals with US politicians whom they hate? It would take only one Russian scientist to derail such a conspiracy- by presenting his own accurate research.

Well

Follow the money and see what happens to researchers who question the Religion of Global Warmists. Have you looked into the Carbon Derivatives market? You say Tim Ball has no standing as a scientist, yet you can’t interpret a simple graph which any grade schooler could easily read. How’s your standing and credentials?

Sanity is not statistical.

So to answer your final question – when it comes to money and power the answer is yes. You see – no one is questioning whether climate change is real or not. Anyone with a set of eyes can see that it is. The question is not whether or not it actually happens (which it does) but whether or not it is a natural part of the cycle of the planet – which it indeed appears to be.

Besides “a single study” is not required to debunk the propaganda – common sense is. That various studies backing Mr. Ball’s assertions are ignored along with common sense is a testament to the power of government and propaganda to get us to believe whatever the hell they want us to. This might explain why ‘scientists’ from various competing nations appear to agree on the topic. Because they all benefit. Government from taxes. ‘Scientists’ from the grants which the taxes produce.

Next question please.

Not all climate scientists agree with you as is implied in your comment. Rather than engaging the facts presented in article you instead engaged in a personal attack on Dr. Ball’s credentials. Is that what it has boiled, pun intended, too! I guess I can assume that you are the arbiter of those who should be part of this Priestly class that you imply in your comment. A long time ago when I thought I knew everything I graduated from University. It took some time but after some years I concluded that there was still much to learn. And when I mean learn, I mean listening to people who never had the fortune of a formal education. The problem with climate debate is that everyone is part of this experiment and can draw conclusions based on observations each and every day.

About eight years ago my wife, who works at STFX, and I sat down with a Prof and a Grad student in local pub. Eating fish and chips over a glass of beer this Grad student launched into her Proposed thesis on salt water incursion caused by rise in sea level as a result of Global Warming. I listened to her Theory. I was unimpressed at the scope of problem. I told her that 6 inches or a foot rise in sea level would not have a great impact at least in Nova Scotia where she was conducting her research. Was even more so when she went on to state that what she was talking about was over our heads. I disagreed because I knew a bit about Ghyben-Herzberg relation and how it effects water supply.

You sir are like that Grad student. You assume, incorrectly like her with me, that Dr. Ball isn’t informed enough to make reasoned comment towards climate debate. As for the conspiracy there certainly is one. The universities survive on research grants like the one given that Grad student. The government is not interested in handing out grants trying to debunk current status quo. Why is that? Well that is easy. A carbon tax if imposed will be ultimate form of control over every aspect of our lives. Something I don’t want. Why? Well because I live by credo that more government means less freedom. But go ahead insult Dr. Ball and everyone else who doesn’t agree with you. Let me know how that works out.

You are quite correct, Tim Ball is a pathetic excuse for a scientist who would be deservedly forgotten but he does have a PhD and likes attention so he is willing to be trotted out by deniers as if he has some credibility, which he most certainly does not.

You ask valid questions which will have no impact on the sad wretches who populate this blog as they have utterly surrendered their reason to avoid taking any responsibility for their actions, that and they are utterly paranoid that any global agreement must, by definition, be a socialist plot to restrict their (imaginary) freedoms.

Learn to embrace climate change – Nature’s way of bringing an out-of-control species back into balance (too bad a lot of wonderful species will get extinguished but Nature’s ok with that).
Of course, it is highly likely that a nuclear war will break out as America is way too immature to decline and fall without taking everyone with her, in which case climate change will be moot.

Peace and Love,

As far as I’m concerned these low IQ fear mongers shot their wad trying to convince me that we were entering a new ice age back in the 1970’s and that before my life was over the northern latitudes of the USA would be uninhabitable due to thick layers of advancing ice. That didn’t even come close to being true so they shifted gears and went with Globull Warming. That is turning out to be a farce so they’ve gone full retard shifting gears to rebrand Globull Warming as Climate Change. They’ve finally hit on a winner.

The climate will change today……….and tomorrow………..and the day after that………and so on……..ad infinitum like it always has.

Usually, I tend to avoid commenting on these climate change posts because, well, to me, talking about the weather is boring. But whenever I read comments like Cdubbya’s (and others) above, I am reminded of what Aldous Huxley once claimed. He said:

“In their propaganda, today’s dictators rely for the most part on repetition, suppression and rationalization: the repetition of catchwords which they wish to be accepted as true, the suppression of facts which they wish to be ignored, the arousal and rationalization of passions which may be used in the interests of the Party or the State.”

If ever I have seen the above in action, it is glaringly apparent in the climate change debate.

Furthermore, in his book, Brave New World, Huxley describes a totalitarian dictatorship using scientific mind control to dumb down the masses and make them compliant. In fact he actually coined the term “Scientific Dictatorship,” and explained how the sheeple could be programmed to love their slavery via the implementation of scientific propaganda via “repetition, suppression, rationalization”, and the use of “catchwords” that will trigger all of the politically correct neurons within the hive mind.

So, I think about all this as I watch Cdubbya (and comrades) brag regarding their “tiny houses” and “Smart” cars. They must all be very pleased as their ascended masters smile down upon them with contempt and pleasure.

Huxley was bang on the mark – the masses (especially Americans) really are too stupid to be given any real control over important decisions. Unfortunately the oligarchs of ‘Western Civilization’ act primarily in their own self interests and, in the American case have achieved mind control and collective stupidity of the citizens by a life-long diet of garbage food, garbage entertainment and unrelenting worship of a silly red, white and blue rag (no science required!).

P.S. You dont know shit about me so dont bother guessing and FYI I like my big house and dumb truck.

I am reading the book Brave New World now. Cubw would fit perfectly into that world. Eager to swallow pronouncements without question.

What bothers me most about the debate is there isn’t one. Rather than arguing the substance they insist on invoking credentials. The graph is the one piece of information telling in it’s symplicity. I learned how to plot a two axis graph in grade 5 or 6. Yet the warmers insist that I require a Phd to have an opinion. The plot shows clearly that temperature has varied wildly over last 10000 years. It also shows that it has been much warmer than it is now. One thing is for sure, there has always been climate change. Just the same as day follows night. The only debate should whether it is man made or not.

Still what difference does it make. Carbon emissions are going to continue one way or another. We are conducting grand experiment whether Al Gore likes it or not. In twenty years or so we should know who is right. Now the warmers will likely say that I, Rob in Nova Scotia, am a heretic. That I don’t love this planet as much as them.

All I have to say is prove it. Shouldn’t be hard seeing as all you warmers subscribe to scientific method.

The only way to truly break away from carbon economy is to embrace in a big way Nuclear Energy. But I suspect that the same people whinging about CO2 will be first in line of self-righteous protesting it’s expansion.

The eggs have been broke and are in frying pan. It is telling that none have even tried to refute Dr. Ball’s premise. I must conclude that they are deniers of the Greenland Ice Core data.

How ironic that they are the deniers.
That I am in turn the warmer..

Two separate thoughts on climate change, global warming, or whatever it is.
1. Solar activity is changing and all the planets in our system are experiencing changes…tilting of poles, warming, orbits, and so on.

2. Our government and others are trying and ‘succeeding’ in modifying the planet’s weather as well as local weather….HAARP, Chemtrails, and other as yet unknown activity.

Since I now know that most of what I thought I knew is not, and now can no longer believe or have any faith in anyone or anything, then “what difference does it make at this time?”

But, I am voting for Trump! (Even though I know not who will count the votes.)
