GREY CHAMPION ASSUMES COMMAND (PART TWO)

In Part One of this article I discussed the arrival of Grey Champions in previous Fourth Turnings; their attributes, deficiencies, and leadership skills; and why Donald Trump is the Grey Champion of this Fourth Turning – whether you like it or not. Now I will try to make sense of what could happen next.

“Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American people. The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election. For those who control the levers of power in Washington and for the global special interests, they partner with these people that don’t have your good in mind. The political establishment that is trying to stop us is the same group responsible for our disastrous trade deals, massive illegal immigration and economic and foreign policies that have bled our country dry.

It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities. The only thing that can stop this corrupt machine is you. The only force strong enough to save our country is us. The only people brave enough to vote out this corrupt establishment is you, the American people.” Donald Trump

Seventy year old Donald Trump has assumed the Grey Champion flagstaff. In an increasingly chaotic world, normal working class Americans in flyover country were seeking a leader who could bring order, defeat the corrupt establishment, make tough decisions, and capture the zeitgeist of this moment in history. The ruling elite oligarchs and their fawning minions, occupying their strongholds in New York, California, Illinois, and D.C., are infuriated the peasants have dared to resist. In their secretive secure spaces, the elites are plotting with one purpose in mind – this uprising must be quelled.

They are now fanning the flames of discontent, funding professional protestors, and convincing the useful idiot college student millennials, Trump is dangerous to their future. It seems these mathematically challenged snowflakes have already forgotten about the $10 trillion of national debt and $1 trillion of student loan debt loaded on their backs by the Obama administration in the last 8 years. This is not to mention the $200 trillion of unfunded welfare liabilities awaiting them as they graduate with degrees in LGBT Studies and great jobs at TGI Fridays in their future.

As the legacy corporate mainstream media outlets hyperventilate over Trump going to dinner without informing them, while scorning and ridiculing his cabinet selections (even when he hasn’t made them yet), this Fourth Turning chaotically churns towards its inevitable bloody climax. The current violence in the streets may be Soros funded domestic terrorism, but it still creates more anger, bitterness, and further unwillingness to compromise or meet in the middle.

This country is manifestly divided between red and blue, with the red geographically occupying 85% of the country and blue centered in the liberal urban bastions of corruption. There are multiple civil wars brewing below the surface, between the establishment and the people; left versus right; rural versus urban; Wall Street and Main Street; and the haves versus the have nots. It hasn’t turned particularly bloody – YET.

It appears Trump’s cabinet will be filled with establishment insiders. Many of his supporters will be disappointed. The daily minutia flogged by the 24 hour cable news propaganda machines is meaningless in the broad expanse of a twenty year Fourth Turning Crisis. Every president ends up with Washington insiders in their cabinet. At the end of the day, it’s the president who sets the policy, decides what to prioritize, and sets the agenda for the nation. In the case of a Grey Champion assuming command in the midst of a Fourth Turning, events and his response to such events will dictate the course of the country and most likely the world for the next four or eight years.

The market reaction to Trump’s ascendancy has a stench about it. On election night futures dropped 800 points, but markets turned positive the next morning and haven’t looked back since. The stock market hovers at all-time highs. It’s almost as if the big swinging dicks on Wall Street decided to send a message – they are still in charge. It doesn’t matter who’s in the oval office, Wall Street calls the shots. If you cooperate and do as you’re told, the markets will ascend. If you attempt to implement any policy they don’t like, a crash will be manufactured (ex. TARP rejection by Congress). The currency and bond markets are in turmoil across the globe. Something is clearly getting ready to blow.

You can ignore the day to day gyrations, as the three core elements of this Crisis – debt, civic decay, global disorder – will produce a chain reaction implosion during Trump’s reign of power. The national debt is on automatic pilot to breach $1 trillion per year for as far as the eye can see. A $1 trillion infrastructure plan, rebuilding the military, building walls, massive tax cuts, trade wars and no spending cuts are a recipe for fiscal disaster. Trump’s advisors seem to be following Dick Cheney’s advice that deficits don’t matter. Steve Bannon’s documentary – Generation Zero – was based on the Fourth Turning, so you would think he would understand what’s coming next.

Interest on the national debt was $433 billion in FY16. That colossal amount was with a near record low weighted interest rate of 2.2%. In case you haven’t noticed the 10 Year Treasury rate has skyrocketed from 1.32% in July to 2.36% today. A 1% increase in rates across the yield curve will result in a 50% increase in interest on the national debt to $650 billion. Soc Gen’s Albert Edwards believes the current bond route could drive the 10 Year Treasury rate to 3.25%. That would blow a hole in our annual deficits. Isn’t leverage great?

The housing market was already rolling over due to high prices and stagnant household incomes. With mortgage rates jumping by 1% and possibly more, housing bubble 2.0 meets pin 2.0. Auto loan defaults were already surging, as every Tom, Shaniqua, and Julio in America got a new vehicle with a low payment lease or 7 year 0% loan. Over 25% of all student loans are not being repaid. The stock market bubble has been sustained by corporate CEOs borrowing to buy back their stock at all-time highs. Their corporate earnings have been falling for several quarters in a row and now the interest rates on their record levels of debt are going higher.

In addition, the USD is now at a 13 year high, up 10% since May and 30% since mid-2014. This will further weaken the profits of our global conglomerates. Making America great again by bringing back manufacturing jobs will be DOA if the USD keeps rising. It just so happens earnings are falling with interest rates and currency rising, when stock market valuations are at record highs. The euphoria of the Trump victory will be short lived as the country officially enters recession and the stock market drops by 30% or more within the next year.

The civic decay already proliferating during and after the election will be exacerbated as bad debt wipes out financial institutions, corporations, and willfully ignorant consumer borrowers. The lesson of 2008 has already been forgotten. Rather than rolling out his grand vision, Trump will be dealing with a financial crisis which will make 2008 look like a walk in Central Park. Will he follow the same failed policies used after 2008 – NIRP, QE, and saving Wall Street at the expense of Main Street?

Or will he level with the American people, allow Wall Street banks to go bankrupt, let the free market purge the system of trillions in bad debt, tackle the unfunded entitlement liabilities, and have Americans endure a Depression in order to reset our economic system? It will take a Grey Champion with a high level of moral fortitude and courage to demand such sacrifice from the citizens of this country.

With the left already trying to provoke a race war, once the Depression takes grip and the social safety net of entitlements begins to fray, the civic decay in the urban ghettos will reach a tipping point. Cities will burn, looters will run roughshod as police refuse to enter lawless neighborhoods, and commerce will grind to a halt.

If social justice warriors, black lives matter terrorists, or any other group of useful idiots decide to take their protests and violence into the red zones, outright civil war could break out. The Grey Champion is likely to clamp down on this civil disorder with the use of troops. Civil liberties will be trampled as the Federal Government attempts to maintain control. Fourth Amendment fans will not be pleased.

With rigged markets at record highs and the establishment still holding this Ponzi scheme of a country together, so they can extract a few trillion more before the collapse, the illusion of normalcy has lulled tens of millions into a false sense of security. Global disorder expands exponentially by the day.

The Middle East is a powder-keg; Russia and the U.S. are one mistaken shoot down from war; Europe is being overrun by Muslim hordes even as their insolvent socialist paradise goes bankrupt; NATO provokes Russia on a daily basis; Japan’s decades long depression worsens; China’s debt bubble approaches the breaking point; and currency wars are waged across the globe. Delusional Americans willfully ignore the facts because acknowledging them would require painful choices and accepting the consequences of decades of bad decisions.

As Trump focuses on filling his cabinet posts and preparing for his inauguration eight weeks from now, the forces of evil are gathering strength and preparing for battle. We are in the midst of the lull before the storm. Nothing has changed since the election from a debt crisis perspective. It seems the mainstream media pundits are purposely asleep at the wheel as The Obama administration has dialed the government spending up to 11.

Obama has made it his mission to reach $20 trillion in debt before he departs. At the current rate of debt accumulation, he will reach his goal by mid-December. The Obama administration has increased the national debt by $324 billion in the first 48 days of the fiscal year. That’s a rate of $6.75 billion per day. The rate of accumulation last year was $3.3 billion per day. This is out of control, and not a peep from the propaganda media, or incoming administration.

The ongoing Soros funded protests in liberal urban enclaves across the country are setting the stage for a major confrontation in Washington D.C. on January 20, 2017. Obama continues to fan the flames of faux outrage from the left. Soros and his domestic terrorist co-conspirators are planning violent demonstrations in the midst of the inaugural celebration. Obama will order the police to stand down and allow the situation to get out of control.

Picture the 1968 Chicago Democratic convention. There is one major difference. There will be hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters who will not stand idly by and be abused by millennial snowflakes, BLM thugs, and feminazis. This event is likely to trigger clashes across the country. The gloves will be off and the situation could spiral out of control.

Those hoping for the Trump presidency to somehow derail this Fourth Turning are delusional. Fourth Turnings never de-intensify. They build to a bloody crescendo, with the existing social order left in tatters and clear winners and losers. I think it is useful to describe this Fourth Turning in terms everyone should understand. J.R.R. Tolkien wrote his Lord of the Rings trilogy in the midst of the last Fourth Turning. It’s not a coincidence the heroic figure of Gandalf the Grey saves the day during the Battle of Helm’s Deep. He was the Grey Champion.

In today’s parlance, Helm’s Deep is occupied by normal working class Americans (aka the deplorables). George Soros is the evil Sauron, creating an army of Orcs with his immense wealth to destroy the good people of Helm’s Deep and abolish their way of life. Through relentless propaganda, violent protests, and the creation of useful idiots through our government indoctrination camps (aka public schools & universities), Soros is attempting to conquer our society and turn it into a global socialist playground for himself and his oligarch cronies. They had us surrounded and were breaching the walls. Two weeks ago the battle seemed lost. Soros had his Orc General Clinton positioned for certain victory.

When the situation looked darkest, the Grey Champion materialized on the horizon with reinforcements indispensable in turning the tide. The feeling in flyover country when Trump ascended the podium to assume the mantle of the presidency was on par with the feelings of the Helm’s Deep citizen combatants when they realized Gandalf the Grey had arrived to save the day. As we know, the victory at Helm’s Deep did not win the war. Sauron regrouped and resumed his attack on humanity in short order. Soros is regrouping as we speak and girding his forces of evil for a final showdown. This war is still being waged. And the victor will not be crowned until the mid – 2020s.

The deplorables were in search of a prophet generation (Boomer) Grey Champion to lead them through this era of darkness, adversity and peril as this Fourth Turning careens towards its climax. The Grey Champion doesn’t have to be a good person, but they must lead and display tremendous confidence in their cause and path. Humbleness, thoughtfulness, graciousness and building consensus are not the traits of a Grey Champion.

Lincoln and FDR have many detractors, but during their Fourth Turnings, they most certainly led, casting aside impediments (often illegally), initiating conflict and enduring many dark days, with bleak prospects for a successful resolution. But they forged on despite the setbacks, failures, and tragedies. Both died on the doorstep of victory. Those of a libertarian bent, thinking Trump will restore Constitutional rights, will be disappointed, as he is likely to strengthen and expand government control of our economy, healthcare system, speech and communications.

As this Fourth Turning traverses obstacles towards its ultimate climax, the intensity will escalate to an earth shattering dimension. Bold decisions will need to be made, requiring a leader who displays incredible confidence, unflinching determination and inspirational leadership. Political correctness and cultural warfare gibberish will have no place in the coming trials. Trivialities will be disregarded; techno-narcissists will be forced to abandon their iGadgets and pick up a weapon; financial oligarchs will see their fortunes evaporate in the blink of an eye; revenge and retribution will be meted out in equal portions; and the possibility for worldwide annihilation will be ever present.

Winter has arrived, bitter winds are blowing and Spring is many years away. Grim times have befallen the planet. The prospect for a tragic outcome grows by the day. The storm clouds loom on the horizon. There will be no avoiding the coming tempest. Trump cannot defuse the banquet of consequences, decades in the making, headed in our direction. The best he can do is maneuver the country through this minefield of history without blowing the world up. There will certainly be financial chaos, widespread death, colossal destruction, and an all-out war to the finish. Let’s pray the Grey Champion can lead us through this valley of death to a new High. There are no guarantees and our choices will matter.

“The risk of catastrophe will be very high. The nation could erupt into insurrection or civil violence, crack up geographically, or succumb to authoritarian rule. If there is a war, it is likely to be one of maximum risk and effort – in other words, a total war. Every Fourth Turning has registered an upward ratchet in the technology of destruction, and in mankind’s willingness to use it.” – Strauss & Howe – The Fourth Turning

EA very excellent synopsis of situation Admin. I wish more people in this part of world could read and absorb what is laid out in post. There are dark days ahead as it appears that so-called progressives funded by Soros and his minions plan on making governance impossible.

The crisis looms and the only question left is the colour György chooses. Once that happens Trump needs to act, be Marshall Zukov during Battle of Berlin. No quarter asked and none given.

Addendum

A Canadian doing his best to poison the ground, salt the earth. A deadly game of poker. How can there be compromise when those with such bad hands refuse to fold and instead move all in.

Trump has to call their bullshit. Crush them at every opportunity. The canvas is the crisis and the end game is a war of anihilation. It is winner take all.

They ‘move all in’ because they realize that is the only choice left open to them. It is a war of ideas, a war to the death and they know it. The problem is, you don’t. You still think of them in terms of your own morals and idea of what’s fair when judging them. Out grow your naiveté, it truly is, you or them. Sorry to say that! Most defeats in war occur because of underestimating your enemy.

Some of you dear readers get it. No Quarter! That’s their end game, why isn’t it yours? I don’t mean you have to stoop to the depredation that they employ, but that you don’t give their ideas or excuses credence. You strip from them the moral and philosophical basis supporting their authority. Once that is universally understood, the power that they get from you evaporates and they become a failed idea in the dustbin of history.

In a post the day after election I tried to lay out how subversive it is to hold non-leftist views in Nova Scotia. I Curl in a league on Monday Nights. Out of 40 men of various ages I was only one who openly supported Trump over Hillary. This was before the election. The metrics have sadly not changed since Trump won. If anything the rhetoric has grown progressively worse.

When I was a younger man I watched the movie. The Body Snatchers. Like another Donald, I feel now that I am one of the last not reborn.

The time to be polite has passed, I agree. Maybe one could cast dispersion or two on my naiveté years ago but I disagree with you about credence I give in the here and now. I don’t negotiate anymore but I do have to navigate and live in the Hive.

A University town in Canada where leftist twaddle is dispensed much as bowls of rice by the Khmer Rouge. Approval is expected and contravening thoughts deplored. That said I have decided to take on this label of a deplorable with pride. Be Winston.

Maybe it is my Celtic heritage but I am at heart a subversive. Even my wife has noticed the change. She had a long talk with me on Sunday and implored that I refrain from opinions that stray too far from conventional groupthink and dogma. I told her that I would give it some thought but I didn’t make any promises. So most days I just go about my business but I have given up hope that the left can be reasoned with. As for moving all in, I am more inclined to follow the advice of Sun Zhu…..

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

So there is no need to strip them of their moral and philosophical basis supporting their authority. They are doing a fine job of discrediting themselves. The only thing I can do is get out of debt, buy some guns and wait for the calamity.

@ RiNS the deplorable
Don’t waste your time arguing with the Left & Libtards. They don’t understand reason. Since modern Liberalism is a mental illness (different than classical) their only retaliation is ad hominem attacks – name calling.

However, there’s a mental bias you can use to your advantage. We human beans might remember knowledge, but not the source. You can tie your shoelaces, but do you remember who taught you?

When someone disagrees with me, I don’t argue. Having said my piece, I leave it at that. Arguing only solidifies their brainless position and then they never change. Often, after a period of time, they’ll tell me what I told them. They’ve forgotten who told them in the first place. As tempting as it is to say “I told you so” I suppress my ego, bite my tongue and thank them for the information.

Be Johnny Appleseed. Infect minds with ideas and let the seed sprout and grow.

I do remember who taught me how to tie my shoes.. and yes, I still wear shoes that have laces needing tying. Same guy who taught me more than half the knots I know and use regularly, and what they are all good for. I DO remember the source of useful and/or valuable information.

But you are correct, few do. Which is a good part of HOW we got to this pretty pass….. a lack of generational continuity is at the root of much of this. WHY is Trayvon Martin dead? Of Michael Brown? Or any number of other young black thugpunks? Simple… their pappies never taught them to respect other people or their stuff. That is one value upon which this nation was built. It was not that long ago I never locked my house, even when I was to be gone a month. The moral values we held closely when this nation was founded have been tossed out along with the bath…..

Don’t be one who underestimates the enemy and loses the war. There will be people who won’t even know a war was in progress until they read it in a history book, 10 yrs after it was over. Don’t be one of them!

I don’t ask much, but that I do ask! A few minutes of your time. Just a few minutes.

A teaser–“To sum up the situation, we believe that: 1) Populism is spreading into the Forbidden Zone of currency and money; 2) To prevent Monetary Populism from becoming a “movement” that they cannot contain, the Deep State Oligarchs have declared a War on Private Savings, as part of a larger conflict, a War on Human Liberty…”–Stewart Dougherty

“Rights”? You don’t know what the word means. You couldn’t possibly defend a right, because you don’t understand anything but state sanctioned privileges.

That’s why you are afraid of an authoritarian taking your “rights away”.

Go somewhere else where someone else is responsible for telling you what your rights are. I know my rights and YOU have nothing to do with them except a high risk of infringement.

Authoritarians can’t take your rights away, they can only force you to defend them.

Although , I have a thought. Piss poor as it is lol .
When Gandalf sent the Eagles to find Frodo , after the Ring was destroyed.
Why didn’t Gandalf just send the Eagles to drop ship Frodo to the end goal to start with?
Would have saved some turmoil with all Middle Earth having a Way overall less death toll .
Now Trump , Well if he sends his Eagles first ,as a comparison , might the Toll be much less ?

3 Reasons:

1) It would have made for a poor story. The protagonist(s) must overcome obstacles, including one perceived as impossible.

2) The Eye of Sauron would have seen the Eagles flying in and an in-air battle would have ensued with the Nazgul, since they wouldn’t have been deployed to Minas Tirith because of the timing. No guarantee that Frodo makes it to the Mount Doom. The Hobbits were picked particularly because of their diminutive size, making it difficult for the Eye of Sauron to see them.

3) In context of the book, one must make the journey and handle the trials and tribulations of such a harsh journey. This must be done in order to keep the memory elongated. Hence, why the 4th turning is 80ish years (the length of memory).

Harsh journey , I agree as per so called 4th turning.
Although 3rd point you make is outrageous due to the thought that you propose that memory is 80 years !
Really ? I say it is about less than a day .
Due to the programming of shortened thought process aka TV , Twitter, facebook and all the other institionalized programming to make your thoughts smaller. To make your language smaller.
If you cannot hold a thought in your head longer than years, how can you possibly achieve something like Einsteins theory of relativity ? Which took him about 38 years .And he had a plaigeristic head start which is another story .
I enjoyed the LOTR books but in a 4th turning situation where everyone has been taught short term thinking um how the crap do they live?

One of the most doomiest of doomy articles ever. Delicious, My Precious! Why don’t we all just kill ourselves … today … and get it over with?

Why is The Fourth Turning book treated as if it was handed down from God himself? Who says that its pronouncements must come to pass, as if it contains some immutable law(s) of the universe? Is the book now on the same level as the Bible … flawless and without error?

Fourth Turnings never de-intensify. Says who? Why can’t there be an exception, just once?

I’m calling it here first; everything will be just fine. Relax. This Fourth Turning will fizzle out just like Jesus’ INEVITABLE return in the Year 2000. Remember that one? America will be great again in short order, and we’re gonna party like it’s 1958. Trust me on this.

The reason the Fourth Turning, at least THIS Fourth Turning won’t just go quietly in the night, very, very simply put is that it takes two to tango…. When I spend just a few minutes updating myself on what has happened on any given day it is beyond obvious that the left scumbags pushing for war in the streets — that is the crisis of the/our Fourth Turning — will not just go quietly in the night…. As much as I wish your perspective were true and come to fruition, I just don’t see any way it can without a 180 degree reversal of all the rioters and specifically the globalist… anyway, no matter how much we “wish” something like this Fourth Turning won’t follow the pattern set out throughout history, the sad truth is it is beyond our ability to stop this madness without a it coming to a head… just pictured a pimple bursting on one’s forehead… yeah, it’s disgusting but I kind of think that is what we are going to be faced with (no pun intended). Pray, prep and protect…

“Fourth Turnings never de-intensify. Says who? Why can’t there be an exception, just once?”

This time around I’d suggest that it won’t be an exception because close to half the country (and the western world for that matter) does not want it to.

Trump saved us from Hillary’s disastrous foreign policies and pulled us from the brink of world war. But domestically and throughout the rest of the western world the debt is too deep and the left too mathematically challenged and violently aggressive to change things. I don’t think Trump can change that, all he can do is try and manage us through it. It’s the reason I posted Collins’ essay on genocide the other day. The left and its financiers such as Soros will not stop until people start to get hurt. And when they do they will point the finger at the other side. Assuming they survive whatever it is they start.

Ask yourself this: socially speaking do things feel like they are calming down or winding up? Even up here the media is in full Trump and deplorable hate mode. 24 seven they are relentless. The silent mass of conservatives here say very little except amongst themselves as they listen to the left and their lapdog medial spew lies and hate. It cannot go on forever. Something will give eventually. All this caldron lacks is an Archduke Franz Ferdinand moment to ignite it.

And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. Mark 3:25

The question now is – what will the US and the rest of the west look like as it comes out the other side of this thing?

Stucky sez, “Why don’t we all just kill ourselves … today … and get it over with?” O.K., you first!

I kinda agree with Stuk on his comment. As Mark Twain said, “History may not repeat, but it sure does rhyme.” Which means it’s similar, but not the same. I agree, why does the “Fourth Turning” have to come to pass? I’ve forgotten more predictions, no matter how well documented, that didn’t come to pass, then the few that did. Eventually all Prophets are right if they make enough predictions.

Why are we as a species so captivated by the future? Why do we augur it so religiously? We seek out fortune tellers, read horoscopes, listen to guys with holes in their shoes about the next great move in the stock market. Go figure! I guess there are some winners that keep us chomping at the bit, but not many I suspect.

I still buy a Powerball ticket when the payout is 1/2 billion. I know the odds of me winning is about the same as rowing out to center of Lake Michigan and spitting in the lake and coming back the next day and finding it. But…What the heck, somebody’s gotta win!

I knew I should have chosen the numbers that the guy on the corner with holes in his shoes told me to pick saying they were a sure winner. I guess I’ll never learn!

The central metaphor of Lord of the Rings is very useful. The power of the “one ring that binds them all” comes from its ability to confer invisibility on its bearer. With invisibility comes impunity and unaccountable power and all the evils that have been brought to us by the shadow government. The “all seeing eye” wants to see you without being seen. Tolkein understood dystopia better than most and experienced the banality of evil in the trenches of WW I. I have no idea whether this “gray champion” will halt the spreading turmoil or plummet us straight into chaos.

All the left ever had to do was leave people the fuck alone and the “racists, bigots and misogynists”, what few of them there truly were, would have gone gently and quietly into the night. Now everyone outside of the elite protected liberal/snowlflake/progressive class is a racist, bigot and misogynist. So not only have those words lost their meaning and their impact but they have become something which people who didn’t ever fit into those categories are now wearing as a badge of honour. Any Civil War will be centered, and end quickly in, the urban infestations of Sorosism. They will simply have their food supply cut off. The truckers will simply refuse to go there, and essential electrical, water, and sanitation services will cease. Mass starvation will begin in about 6 days.

Mobs of marauders in the islands will first plunder their cohorts, then attempt to move against outlying Red areas, but spontaneous militias, supported by the local Police, will resist the attempts, and contain them in the enclaves. The telecommunications providers will voluntarily end services in the affected areas, making coordinated action by the rebels with diminishing supplies difficult. The rebellion, especially in the “Clinton Islands” will die out quickly, and literally.

Washington DC will be under martial law, of course. Mob action will be quickly and forcefully crushed. The bureaucracies will be eliminated that are truly non-essential, with entire Departments ceasing to exist.

At the same time, the US will not be encouraging international conflicts, and our military forces will be as strong as before.

The great Red land mass of the election will be relatively peaceful, with known-in-advance- pockets of resistance. These will voluntary submit to the new status quo, or suffer elimination.

Trump is not mentioned in Bible prophecy, nor is the USA, so this is not a signal of the Rapture & Tribulation to follow. Conversely, it might be a cause for extra hundreds of years before those events. The technology for an embedded chip economy is rapidly approaching, but not imminently deployable, as shown in the resistance that elected Trump. Europe is another matter, but I can’t be concerned about those folks.

It won’t be pretty, but the parasites are genuinely not self sustaining producers or planners.

Damn, that’s quite an insult. I will read it, and I will do so with an open mind. I would like to say I’ll read it without preconceived ideas, but after all these years here that would be totally impossible.

Why would I post trash about it? Have I posted 4T trash here before? No, I have not. What I have done is ask questions. Sometimes I raised doubts about the premise of the book … but, I have never actually criticized it. That would be pretty fucken stupid considering I haven’t actually read it. It would also be a slap in the face at Admin, and I have no intentions of doing that. Bottom line, I am NOT anti-4T!!

The whole point of my post above should be pretty obvious. I have seen this play many times before … where an enormous amount of faith is placed in a book, or a person, or a movement. The end result of such enormous faith is usually disappointment.

ALL that I said was that the 4T scenario COULD be wrong … THIS time. There’s absolutely nothing profound or earth-shattering about that. It’s almost a mundane observation, really. Nevertheless, when folks get so tightly wed to an idea, it often keeps them from seeing the forest for the trees.

Stucky,

I found the book compelling, if exceedingly dry, scholarly material. But the topic was of interest, my major was psychology with a history minor, so I gladly endured the slog.

As to your question of “why?”, it is inherent in mankind to follow certain pathways. The individual step vary with the unique circumstances. Each set of generations forget what their forbears experienced while following each path. The results don’t repeat, but they certainly seem to rhyme. The 80-ish year cycle allows generations to forget what occurred the last time such pivot points arose.

Consider the War for Independence vs. the Civil War vs. the Great Depression/WWII; each transformed society, but in different ways. None was universally supported, but divisive. My Granddad was a farmer, and FDR is still a devil in our family. 1776 had more Tories than Founders. Much of the North was willing to let the South go, but a ruling group deemed otherwise. Could either of these gone a different way? Of course! But they didn’t, and those other paths would have been just as devastating to the prior status quo, we just don’t know how.

Any global war that is part of this 4T isn’t going to be a years-long slog (like WWI/II) that requires an industrial base – it’s going to be fought with what’s on hand (and there’s quite a lot of it – look at a Google Map satellite photo of Sierra Army Depot in CA, for example). If the war goes into low earth orbit, it could be over within hours as the GPS and TELECOM constellations are taken out. Then we’d be back to the 19th century in pretty short order. Actually, that may not be a bad place to start over. I will miss the internet, though.

You are absolutely correct. Look at what Russia has done about Soros’ Open Society Foundation’s meddling. The only problem here is the lawyers would attempt to tie it up in court for years. So the answer, as it has been so many times in the past (by various parties) would be for the Trump administration to ignore the Constitution, shut OSF and all of it’s affiliates down, seize their assets and arrest Soros for high crimes against the American people (as a start). The only problem with that will be that the same sword they use against Soros and his fellow travelers can easily be turned against anyone else (including us) that the new “powers that be” deem “undesirable.” No matter what, things are certainly getting interesting!

Mike,
You are adding value connotations to the words that don’t necessarily jive.
Champion, as in Grey Champion, doesn’t mean he will be your ‘champion’ or if he is, that he will have success.
Hero, as in Hero Generation, really just means kids your age are going to be ground zero for the real shit. Some hero’s may in fact emerge, but most of you are at the front lines of Admins Helms Deep, yeah on that first wall, those kinda ‘hero’s’.
For generations respect has been earned, not handed out in blanket coverage.

November 21, 2016 9:03 pm

Can’t say that I’ve ever believed in the Great Man Theory. I look at history as proposed by Admin, and Strauss and Howe, as cyclical, repetitive, and inevitable.

In the olden days, education for those who could afford it, was always centered on the classics – theological, Roman, and Greek classics. The reason being was that every aspect of the human condition – good, evil, or indifferent – can be learned in the works of the ancients. It’s a truism that all the great masters of the Renaissance understood, including Shakespeare.

Of course, all that is lost now. The god of technology has convinced everybody that the human condition has, and can continue, to be improved. Bullshit! For the time being we are, sort of, well behaved. Massive welfare entitlements, easy credit, rigged markets, and cheap goods from Asia have made it so – as Picard would say. Problem is, that’s about to end, and all of sudden we’re back to the savagery of old.

As much as I admire the gumption and determination of Trump, history has passed by the hero meme, and it’s about to assert itself in a manner that hasn’t been seen in generations.

Author seems to try to bend elements of Fourth Turning to his views way too much. What is missing the moral authority component of the Grey Champion. In Twice told tales, the old Puritan was a symbol of spiritual and moral authority. Lincoln and FDR may have lead during the crisis, but Grey Champions they were not. Our converging crises have not climaxed yet, that moment of greatest danger still lies ahead. Only then, will the grey champion appear.

Great read. But BLM thugs, and feminazis ? Why is the author negatively identifying groups that are mere pawns in the grand scheme of things. Would have like more details on the like of the G. Soros of the world who are actually fanning the flames of division among us and benefiting from this clash of citizens. TO Divide and rule as always been the mode of operation by the ruling elite. Plan is in full effect and as usual the pawns are sacrificed on the altar for public consumption while the unseeing hand remains at large , operating in the shadows.

Debt levels and the size of the FSA make it nearly impossible that it will end well. But more like a whimper a la Greece and Italy than war. Although I do hold on to the hope that the guilty will get theirs.

I’ve read “Generations” by Strauss and Howe but I think that they put too much faith in this “Grey Champion” notion, which I think is more based in fiction than in fact. As best as I can tell, it’s generally not aging religious reawakeners who assume leadership during a political crisis era, but what they call the “nomads”—the generation born during a religious revival era, who generally include a “bumper crop” of economists, political scientists, political philosophers, and champions of human rights, along with both tyrants and criminals. So, I’ll take this idea about Donald Trump being this era’s “Grey Champion” with a figurative grain of salt.

Gandalf refused the Ring of Power.

Trump is NOT Gandalf.

Trump is SAURUMAN.

Trump is not Gandalf, Gray or White!

Trump is not Saruman either!

Trump is Trump!

He can’t be evaluated by any standard other than his actual performance. His words are malleable & flexible. He will react and change with any change in circumstances, and will do his level best to confound his critics, especially those in the media.

But he is a patriot, so he will aim to strengthen the nation, and those segments of society who have been left behind during the period of the Clinton/Bush crony-capitalist plundering.

If we get a constitutionalist on SCOTUS to start, I’ll be happy. That is the cherry on top of the cake that was vanquishing Hillary!

IS…Trump the “GREY CHAMPION”???

It’s been said in so many words, and I wish I could credit the author– that, “We look for a leader on a white horse to save us, but there are a lot of people in the wings with brown horses and a bucket of whitewash.”

Is Trump one of those? The truth will be revealed in the first 100 days in office. I hope it is truly a white horse. Or…maybe…This is the possibility…

“On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”– H. L. Mencken

His fisrt course of action should be utilize NDAA to whack some rats…
next, penalize anyone making a buck off this…start by pulling DOT
certificates form those bus companies…. next, create and activate militias
to sweep up any dirt that the shovels miss.
Anyone who thinks our freedoms can be restored inside of 20 years
is an idiot (literally) ! nearly 50% of the people in this country are sporting a sub -90 IQ ! 90 was reserved for the mentally retarded
in the JFK era…. today its our bread and butter,
150 million US people are never going to work again…
some are too old, other untrained, others too stupid,
and the rest physically unable, or unwilling !
WE are entering a great purge….be it natural , or engineered.
