Stilton Jarlsberg created this portrait in honor of his neighbor who died today. I find it haunting and beautiful. To me, the tree appears to be a man carrying a heavy burden up a hill. What do you see?

It’s like a Rorschach test.
It looks like a tree during the final moments of sunset to me.
Edit:
A Treant!
1st time I’ve noticed knees on a tree trunk.
See edit. Very “Lord of the Rings”.
YES
I say perhaps a “Ent”?Would be formidable allies in the troubled times coming our way!
You need to visit a Cypress Swamp then. Cypress trees are known for their knees.
Atlas holding up the Earth.
Or maybe a tree.
A nuclear bomb, and a white right parenthesis under it.
It is very beautiful, and the man carrying the burden is immediately recognizable. It would be nice to know who painted it, and if they painted the tree to resemble a man on purpose.
Stilton Jarlsberg created it, I believe.
I see Treeman walking up a hill looking for something to eat in the grass. At the same time, Crescentmoonman is creeping up on him from behind.
“”Trees At Night” from Art Young features his collection of trees looking like something else in the moonlight.” printed 1927.

I see pastrami on rye.
It’s symbolic of taxpayers carrying all the freeshitters.
It is Iska carrying a load of bricks to help build the wall.
I see Atlas…
…Either that or Colin Kaepernick getting off his knee…
I see a taxpayer working into the night to support those who won’t support themselves.
