The RCMP are now making and enforcing their own version of criminal law in Canada. Good for them. So far civilian compliance with this ‘interpretation’ is zero.
Way to go boys!
Nothing like pissing off the most upstanding and law-abiding people in the country. Based on this sort of underhanded and unethical behavior I am predicting that the Liberals, assuming they do nothing to discourage it, will not be re-elected.
As for the RCMP, the average Joe’s trust and regard for them here drops yearly. They will be lucky if they are not disbanded in my lifetime. I know I for one will be heartbroken when it eventually happens.
Please note: This video is intended for consumption by the general public. It needs to go viral in both the US and Canada. It has had tens of thousands of shares on Facebook and now has over ten thousand views on youtube. Share it and help us Canucks spread it. Let our wannabe fascists know they can’t get away with this crap. They need to be held accountable for their very “undemocratic” behaviour.
Link to CCFR’s fact sheet on this issue is here.
I can envision the day when an RCMP is wasted due to his zealous (stupid) behavior for the 22 LR Mags.
What I want to know is: What would Renfrew and Sgt. Preston say? I thought the Mounties were very cool guys sixty years ago.
60, even 30 years ago, yes. There are still a lot of good guys on the front lines too. They have a tough job in many aspects and it gets even harder when the administrative wing of the force starts to run amuck. Imagine trying to conduct a legitimate criminal investigation in an environment where the general public does not trust you. That’s the direction we’ve been headed for well over a decade now.
And Dudley Do-Right can’t wag a finger at Snidely Whiplash!
Looks like the RCMP are trying to do what the State of Connecticut attempted in 2012.
Didn’t work there, either.
It won’t work here either. The first time someone gets charged the RCMP will be revealed for the paper tiger they really are. All bark and no bite.
I used to have a lot of respect for the force when I was a kid. They used to be guys and gals that we looked up to when we were young. We were proud of them and what they represented to not just us but the world at large.
These days they are nothing more than the enforcement wing for the marxist globalist cabal trying to take over the country. But that cabal’s days are numbered here. And so are the RCMP’s in many ways. Without the trust and respect of the people, they will either be shrunk and have their role diminished or disbanded altogether.
The world is realigning itself politically. Brexit and Trump were just the beginning. Canada will fall in line as well – the old guard’s days are numbered here as much as anywhere else. The marxists, metaphorically speaking, are dead men walking here too. Canada is not an island and it will fall into line with the new, new world order. Next federal election will prove it. Mark my word.
Once again, Marion, you show your pitiful lack of understanding about our legal system.
You think that “democracy” means that only politicians make the law.
There’s also a guy who lives at the North Pole and brings presents at Christmas.
The “law” in a Democracy has several sources. The more complex the law, the more specialized its ‘creator’. At the local level, it is much more basic, written at council meetings by councilors. It’s usually very sloppy, relatively speaking.
As you move into areas of more general concern and impact, the law is created by several consultations, also known as “readings”. Specialists are called-in, and the expertise of a professional law-writer is often used. Criminal law relies on experts in criminal activity, corporate law relies on fiscal and business experts, environmental law relies on environmental researchers.
These people come from all walks of life, but the actual legislator (or author) of the law is always a trained jurist. These folks move on to enjoy great careers in the businesses these laws affect as sought-out ‘rainmakers’ and special ‘consultants’ for their business employers. Imagine you are an electricity-supplier who has access to the person who wrote the law on energy production?
So why wouldn’t the R.C.M.P. be called on to write a law regarding firearms?
Racist,
Thinks he can educate me about “the law” in Canada. If you believe it is the job of our national police force to essentially rewrite existing laws and/or enforce their special “interpretation” of said laws then you need to go back to high school. Don’t lecture me about the law unless you know what you are talking about.
If you are so incredibly stupid as to believe it is the RCMP’s duty to rewrite/interpret not only the law but the _history_ of said law (in other words to lie about its implementation over the past 20 years) without respect or regard to the system that is established in this country for doing so then you are a complete and utter dishonest and disingenuous fucking moron.
If you actually read the primer linked above what you would find is that the law has not changed. Should the RCMP be stupid enough to press charges based on this ‘interpretation’ it is unlikely that crown will even press charges as a result (think 0% chance). They would lose in court and they know it. The only reason for this egregious error is because someone at the RCMP has overstepped their boundaries due to an overinflated sense of importance and ego. Unfortunately, in the process, they have put a lot of people at risk financially/legally as a result. They have created a de facto moratorium on the trade and use of these goods in spite of the fact that the charges would be tossed. Average people cannot afford lawyers and businesses cannot afford to be shut down to test the waters legally.
I think before you respond to my posts with the type of idiotic blather you wrote above you might want to do a little background reading first. Judging by some of your previous posts I would suggest that you are way out of your depth here. Go back to the Globe and Mail. It is better suited for idiots like you.
I can’t pretend to know the details of the Canadian law in question, but if it is so lacking in specificity that it gives the Mounties the latitude to re-categorize these magazines, then it must be a pretty shitty law. In that case, blame parliament more than the Mounties. If the Mounties are overriding a specific and well-crafted law, then blame Trudeau for letting them. Then blame Canadian voters for electing a poof.
Careful there Francis, Racist aka Dougie Pecker is a Sheriff working for the courts in Canada as well as being a dhimmi for the local inbred muslim mullahs. Hims knows what hims talking aboot!
I know.
You should never mess with a guy who has a sociology degree.
I guess I just never learn.
Have you ever known a cop to be an expert on the law? Most couldn’t pour piss from a boot with the instructions written on the heal. Go ahead and ask a cop to name the 5 rights listed in the 1st amendment to the Constitution and watch their eyes glaze over.
A “Police State” is when the police make the laws of their own accord and decide who they will and will not apply to for their own purposes.
Of all the things that are wrongly called a “Police State” when they aren’t really that, this is one that actually is a Police State action since this law is newly made up by the police themselves for their own purposes (assuming the video presented the situation correctly).
Unbelievable. Talk about a police state. Who needs a Parliament when they already have Dudley Do-Right to make laws unilaterally and ferret out the hundreds of thousands of evil Snidely Whiplashes with suddenly illegal 22LR magazines? Ten years in the slammer? What in the name of Nell Fenwick is next? Confiscation of all twenty-twos? An outrageous act and a scary portent.
