But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. People talk about Trump tearing down Obama’s legacy.

Do they not realize that Trump is Obama’s legacy?

damn…that’s good…..why didn’t I think of that. All along I thought that people were suffering from the ” tingly leg” syndrome…I guess Trump was the cure.

We better hope…

1) Trump stays true to his campaign promises.
2) Is elected to a 2nd term.
3) Isn’t terminated.
4) Is truly working for the middle class since
everyone else is being or has been taken care
for the last 30+ years.

That’s an extremely misleading article. Selective breeding of plants is not genetic modification. It is a natural, God-made process, which farmers have used for thousands of years.
On the other hand, genetic modification is a process in which scientists go in and alter the DNA of a plant with genes from other plants or animals, including fish, insects, and even bacteria. But unlike God, these scientists don’t know what the outcome will be. Some unforeseen things can occur. These scientists cannot selectively alter specific genes. It’s hit or miss and any gene can be altered without their realizing it. And altered effects can change from unit to unit. It’s not consistent. And if the “mistakes” are let loose into the environment, they can take over the “normal” plants. There’s no taking them back out again.
No thank you!

Actually, Vic, your definition of genetic modification is partially incorrect. Genetic modification in agriculture today generally means turning on or off different genes, through the plant’s ability to create or react to natural enzymes. For example, you create flowers that don’t wilt as quickly by turning off (or slowing down) the flower’s ability to produce ethylene gas. Likewise, you can create an apple (just recently released) that lacks the enzyme that makes apples turn brown when cut. No enzyme in the apple, no browning. Millions of apple slices no longer wasted.

Transferring genes from one species to another is called transgenic modification. That includes inserting a bacteria gene into corn so the corn will kill any pests that feed on it, thus reducing the need to spray it with insecticides that kill all insects including beneficial honeybees. They’re working on a transgenic orange now that splices in a spinach gene. The spinach gene helps the orange avoid a disease called citrus greening that’s killing orange groves. It’s likely the only way humans will keep oranges from dying out and going extinct.
