Roughly Half Of All Illegal Immigrants Live In these 10 Metro Areas

As Trump getsset to ramp up pressure on so-called “sanctuary cities”, and sanctuary states in the case of California, here is a look at where the majority of illegal immigrants in the United States are currently residing.  Per data from the Pew Research Center, approximately 60% of all illegal immigrants live in just 20 metropolitan areas across the country.

Most of the United States’ 11.1 million unauthorized immigrants live in just 20 major metropolitan areas, with the largest populations in New York, Los Angeles and Houston, according to new Pew Research Center estimates based on government data.

The analysis shows that the nation’s unauthorized immigrant population is highly concentrated, more so than the U.S. population overall. In 2014, the 20 metro areas with most unauthorized immigrants were home to 6.8 million of them, or 61% of the estimated nationwide total. By contrast, only 36% of the total U.S. population lived in those metro areas.

By far the biggest unauthorized immigrant populations were in the New York and Los Angeles metro areas (1.2 million and 1 million, respectively). No other metro area approached a million. Among the top 20 areas, the smallest unauthorized immigrant populations included Orlando (110,000) and Austin (100,000).

Illegal Immigration

Meanwhile, the top 10 metropolitan areas alone account for nearly 50% of illegal immigrants and just three states, California, Texas and New York, make up roughly 37% of the total.

Illegal Immigration

Of course, these numbers will become increasingly important over the coming months as the Trump administration continues to develop policy related to what will undoubtedly be a controversial topic for the next 4-8 years.  In a recent interview on Fox News, President Trump intimated to Bill O’Reilly that all options, including the defunding of entire states, would be on the table for places that refuse to enforce federal immigration laws.

“I think it’s ridiculous. Sanctuary cities, as you know, I’m very much opposed to sanctuary cities. They breed crime, there’s a lot of problems,” Trump said.

“If we have to, we’ll defund,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News host Bill O’Reilly before the Super Bowl. “We give tremendous amounts of money to California, California in many ways is out of control, as you know.”

Trump told O’Reilly that he didn’t want to defund a state or a city and would like to give them “the money they need to properly operate.”

But the president added that “if they’re going to have sanctuary cities, we may have to do that. Certainly that would be a weapon.”

And, with $27 billion of federal funding at stake, we suspect that at least a few rogue cities will be forced to fall in line.  Here is some data on which states/cities receive the most federal funding (see “Deplorable? Obama Sent $27 Billion Taxpayer Money To Fund Sanctuary Cities In 2016“):

Here are the top 10 takeaways from our findings:

  1. $26.741 billion in annual federal grants and direct payments flowed into America’s 106 sanctuary cities (FY2016).
  2. On average, the cost of lost federal funding for a family of four residing in one of the 106 sanctuary cities is $1,810 – or $454 per person. A total population of 46.2 million residents live in the 106 sanctuary cities according to census data.
  3. Washington, D.C., and Chicago, Illinois governments received the highest amount of federal funding per resident and, therefore, have the most to lose by maintaining their sanctuary status.Washington, D.C. municipal government received the highest amount of federal funding on a per capita basis: $3,228 per person; $12,912 per family of four; or $2.09 billion total. The City of Chicago, IL received the second highest amount of federal funding on a per capita basis: $1,942 per person; $7,768 per family of four; or $5.3 billion total.
  4. In cities with populations of 100,000 and above, the communities with the least per capita federal dollars ‘at risk’ are St. Paul, Minnesota ($47 per person, $14.2 million total); Downey, California ($36 per person, $4.2 million total) and Miami, Florida ($67 per person, $29.7 million total).
  5. $15.983 billion in federal funds flowed into just twelve major American cities where 1 in 5 illegal entrants reside (FY2016).
  6. Department of Justice grants to law enforcement – i.e. city police departments – totaled $543.97 million (FY2016). Typically, this funding was only a small percentage of the local law enforcement budgets.
  7. $4.23 billion in federal funding of the 106 sanctuary cities flowed via the ‘direct payment’ type. These payments funded municipal services such as housing, education, community development, and schools.
  8. $21.5 billion in federal funding of the 106 sanctuary cities flowed via the ‘grant’ payment mechanism. These payments funded local police and fire departments, schools, housing, and city services.
  9. In Los Angeles, fully 1 in 5 city residents (22-percent) are illegal entrants. However, the amount of federal funding amounts to only $126 per resident; $504 per family of four; or $502.5 million total.
  10. In Newark, New Jersey, 19-percent of city residents are undocumented entrants. However, the amount of federal funding amounts to $733 per resident; $2,932 per family of four; or $206.7 million.

It really is a pity that Jerry Brown only has 2 years left in office…a four-year, Trump-Brown battle would be a glorious thing to observe.

Control the discussion, control the thinking of the people in it.

Kinda’ like a mexican punkin’ chunkin’

The reality of the conversation is that there are one whole hell of lot more than these numbers would have you believe. There are between 30 and 50 million illegals and lapsed visa scoundrels loose in the secondary…….and I would bet my last dollar we are paying a boatload for them to be here……..

I could get a goodly percentage of them who work (not for cash) to leave right now.

Take the monthly FICA contribution data – and query for SS#’s that have multiple contributions. Using the employers zip code – compute the distances between the multiple filings. Say if it’s more than 25 miles – we send each employer a letter that states they have to E-Verify the person, or get a $5000 fine.

You could do the same for SS#’s of dead people, and fictitious numbers. We could mine that data for quite a while.

Further it’s a Federal offense (like they give a fuck) to illegally use a SS#. We should make an example out of a small number – and charge them with identity theft, etc. See how fast they leave!

That’s a good idea Dutch.I’m generally against e verify because I believe that it is too intrusive but on a case by case basis it is justified.
However,I still believe that many people do not understand the lowlifes we have among the lower classes in our society, which is why we need many of these immigrants.
If we would cut off all welfare and concentrate on deporting felons & repeat misdemeanor offenders we would solve many problems.
And btw,I’m hoping that someone else is using my ss#.I could use the boost in earnings credits.

Tamper, my nephew got caught in this. He had to go to an audit and explain unreported income. He said he lives in Texas, how could he have commuted to Indiana to earn that unreported income?

Pochos are more often the victims of identity theft. Green card holders and Hispanics born here are also the preferred victims of document theft, I wonder why?

The numbers that are presented are only part of the story. The real story is the fact that residents of CA are helping to fund the stay of illegals. One possible solution: cut your own lawn, trim your own shrubs, don’t hire out of Craigs list, don’t hire contractors without seeing workers-comp ins documents, only donate to your church if the money helps your church and its families, don’t donate to big organization like Catholic Charities, wash your own car, grow your own food, stop drinking Ca wine, don’t hire from a Home Depot parking lot, clean your own gutters, be responsible for your family elderly…take away the cash, dry their resources up. This will put the burden on the state govt which will in turn increase taxes and maybe this will piss off the tax paying voters to vote differently, vote with your shoes and leave, or drive the illegals back across the border because the freebies have dried up and they can’t work for cash.

Garcia de Rayos – the woman who was recently deported had a felony conviction for using someone else’s SS#.

Her attorney, Ray Ybarra Maldonado, said there aren’t many legal avenues for her to come back to the U.S.

“Getting back to the U.S., legally, there’s really no route for her. There’s no avenue for her. There’s no application she can submit. There’s no waiver she can submit,” Maldonado said. “I mean, this is a prime example of our failed immigration system.”

The Magic Negro has fucked everything up. We now have a lawyer saying we have a failed immigration system – did this SPIC get his law degree at ITT Tech?

“I mean, this is a prime example of our failed immigration system.”

How can you describe the forced deportation of a criminal as a failure? That’s a resounding SUCCESS, and altogether too rare!

I don’t hate Hispanics; they are people too, and usually much superior people than the Pizzagate Podestas, for example. But if you are a foreigner and commit a crime, you have forfeited any reason for us to keep you here!

I said last year that we could expect this mass deportation, so far, Trump is playing the Obama game plan. Obama also staged mass deportations in ’08.

It isn’t a Trump deal either, the plan was shovel ready even before the election, which means the deep state is firmly in control running the show.

If you think Trump is steering the ship, ha!

In other news, the Mexican marines staged a raid on Narcos in Nayarit. They rained bullets on the luxury compound of drug trafficking criminals, several dead. Pena Nieto’s marines must have been offended that Trump suggested they are scared of Narcos.

Enrique captured El Chapo twice but he gets no credit for that. Calderon put troops in Juarez for several years. EPN brought normalcy back to Mexico, whatever else you say about him.

Mexico deserves more credit for doing as well as it is doing while prosecuting a war on drugs that involves the torture and murder of civilians by both sides. To paint a picture of Mexico as a sleepy little place full of retards is retarded.

So they stormed a druglord’s palace and shot it up. Killed a few at that. Doesn’t that mean:
(1) Someone in the Mexican government, intelligence service or police knew exactly where the palace was, who it belonged to and therefore what he did for a living? Why wasn’t it raided before, who was paying (and ACCEPTING) protection money all this time?
(2) If all it took was Trump suggesting that the Mexican armed forces were running scared to collapse the scam / protection / safe zone and get a couple of narco kingpins slaughtered, then why doesn’t Trump do this more often, say once a week until Mexico runs out of druglords? Then once a calendar quarter or so for preventive maintenance?

Jimbo, did you read LLPOH’s comment on Mexico? Starfuck’s?
They eliminated the middle class, there are super-rich and there are the poor.
Drug-trafficking is a means of survival.
The US has been fighting a drug war forever.
Maybe we should launch a Tet offensive here.

were these comments by llpoh and star on another thread? I can’t find them up above.
Were they along the lines of all Mexico’s problems due to US influence / interference?
Do we own Mexico now? Or just their problems?
Doesn’t Mexico still jail Gringos that fall afoul of their laws? Is that another sign of our control over them?
Given how many things the US has screwed up lately overseas (due to Hillary’s SOS stint, a lot of them) I can have some sympathy that the US somehow caused Mexican economic collapse; but still, don’t they still have citizens? If the Mexicans wanted another revolution to throw out the druglords, would it happen?
Do we have sympathy for American druglords that ruin lives and enslave addicts?
Can we get rid of the Americans that import and sell dope? Is this the charge that brings down the GOPestablishment?

You just put your finger on why we will never win the war on drugs as it is currently being fought.Demonizing the people who simply provide a product that others want is no way to stop it.The demand side must be stopped but how many of you are willing to see a young person locked up or executed for simply using drugs?
