U.S. Special Forces Deployed To 70% Of The World In 2016

U.S. Special Operations Command launched a raid in Yemen’s Baida Province on Jan 29, targeting Qassim al-Rimi, the leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. The first high-profile special forces operation of Trump’s presidency, the raid resulted in the deaths of at least 14 Al Qaeda fighters, 20 civilians and Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens. Three other Americans were reportedly wounded and an Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft was destroyed by U.S. forces after it was heavily damaged in a forced landing. Over the past few days, it has emerged that al-Rimi survived the raid and he has subsequently released an audio message taunting President Trump.

Special forces operations like the one in Yemen are nothing new. America’s elite troops have found themselves on the frontlines constantly since 9/11, conducting operations everywhere from the dusty back alleys of North Africa to the snow-capped mountains of Afghanistan. Even though they have made headlines for high-profile operations like the prison break near Hawija in Iraq or the raid on Bin Laden’s Abbottabad compound in Afghanistan, the vast majority of special forces missions across the world involve training friendly soldiers to fight, mainly so Americans don’t have to.

American special operations troops deployed to 138 nations last year or 70 percent of the world’s countries according to official Special Operations Command data published by TomDispatch. 55.29 percent of deployments were in the Middle East, a 35 percent decease since 2006. In Africa, deployments of elite U.S. forces skyrocketed 1,600 percent during the same timeframe.

That is absolutely insane! Last I heard the U.S. was $20,000,000,000,000 in debt. Social Security nothing more than a Ponzi scheme. Bubbles in student loans, mortgages and credit cards. 95,000,000 working age Americans
unemployed. Many more if you count the ones severely under employed. A labor participation rate at a 40 year low. An infrastructure that makes Fred Flinstone’s era look like George Jetson’s era. Good grief!! Even 2nd Century Rome would be aghast.

Rojam,

Deficits don’t matter. The fiat scheme is working like a magic genie. Don’t worry friend.

Very true WIP. For now at least. But remember; every currency in the history of the world, every single one, has eventually gone to its true intrinsic value. Zero.

Rojam, breathe into a paper bag, your hyperventilating. Didn’t you ever hear the saying, I can’t be out of money, I still have checks. We won’t be out of money as long as they take our credit card. When the credit stops, then it is time to get creative. You trade what you’ve got. People cooperate as long as they have hope. Those who have nothing will resort to violence and robbery.

On that day, you will forget about the bubbles and broken promises. A crisis brings everything into focus. The rich will be sought out. Of course, a war conveniently will break out. Marauders will band together as mercenaries. Eventually, a leader will re-establish order. Whether that leader will be a George Washington or Attila the Hun, we don’t know.

13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

Rojam is right. If we cut welfare we could pay down the debt. Add in foreign aid, subsidies to green energy, and all those wasted education programs the government would be in the black. After 25 trillion wasted on the war on poverty its clear that blacks, lazies, and druggies will not change.

Stop the waste.

All of the above and we can cut the pentagon, CIA, etc. 50% too while we’re at it.

Phoolish:

I’d do what you suggest if we eliminate all the social welfare spending. The libtards are just vampires, always ready to spend someone else’s money.

Ok kids. Let’s sing the refrain from that golden oldie and neocon number one hit; “Spreading Democracy.” Ready? One…two…three: THEY HATE US FOR OUR FREEDOMS. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH. THEY HATE US FOR OUR FREEDOMS.

It is definitely crazy. If/when America loses the upper hand militarily, God help us.

I much prefer libtard warmongering and military adventurism. The thrills of killing people for no reason to install dictators and radical Islamic regimes is so libtard. This is why we still have troops in the Balkans and throughout Africa. Better yet I love it when libtards snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

From Vietnam to Afghanistan you can see the left pull a Kennedy-Fonda surrender. And they always invest your sons while theirs flee to Canada or do their virtue signaling.

While they embrace our true friends like Tehran, Havana, and North Korea.

The Left always tells about peace while leaving us open for the next assault. And they sing loud and clear “Der Kommisar.”

We really don’t even need a military for self-defense. There isn’t a single country with the military capability to invade us.

The real reason for the military is to keep Japan and Europe as occupied territories, maintain access to oil in the middle east, as well as keep other countries in the dollar system.

Your last paragraph is an absolutely spot on analysis General, sir. That last thing you mentioned, the dollar’s status as the reserve currency? I’m afraid that, as well as the even more important and less talked about petro dollar, is slowly starting to unravel.

Last time I heard something as crazy as this someone flew into the world trade towers. Then again that’s what the peaceniks said too, just about the time the Japanese decided to use the fleet for target practice.

Do tell us about your vast military experience. I bet you spent years playing with GI Joe dolls with your husband.

And how many times has America done exactly this, only to have the people we trained and armed turn on US?

Yup those Japanese, Germans, Koreans and Vietnamese are not to be trusted. Not when Obama tells us our allies in Tehran, Havana, and North Korea can be relied on.

Yup tell us about your years of military experience. Nothing better than getting the opinions of veterans of the gender wars.

The cliche comments here reflect what is taking place in our nation, and it had begun with Newt and his willingness to close down the government and has worsened since, that is, both parties unwilling to work out what might be best for our nation…the situation is, for better or worse, like marriage: you give you get…compromise, sharing. Name calling, ie, libtard or trumpanista, is merely a schoolboy attempt to puff up a chest rather than present a rational response to one who does not believe as you do.
I have seen my nation change. Went into the army when it was segregated (1947). Went back in shortly after the Korean War broke out and served there and our forces were integrated. I am over 85 and I weep for our country now.

What would really solve the whole debit issue is the 10% across the board tax, our lovely country would be debit free in less than 5 years, then we could fry all the terrorist we want guilt free.
