Unbelievable How Mainstream Media Has Become Just Liars

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

Thomas Friedman of the New York Times demonstrates why mainstream media is just becoming so bought and paid for. You have to wonder if they should not be in prison for attempting to overthrow the government and start a revolution. Here he is still ranting about how Russia hacked the election and asserting that this is somehow a Pearl Harbor and 911 event. I suppose this is implying we should start world war III because Hillary lost.

The Homeland Security and the FBI both said that Russia’s hack of the DNC did not involve altering the vote. In fact, it was his own paper that reported on November 25, 2016: “The Obama administration said on Friday that despite Russian attempts to undermine the presidential election, it has concluded that the results “accurately reflect the will of the American people.”

Spaniards_search_women_1898The constant lies and manipulations seem intent upon creating war exactly as took place with the Spanish American War. We have returned to yellow journalism which is based upon sensationalism and crude exaggeration. Pulitzer and Hearst went head to head. I remember grade school history class blaming the Spanish American War on fake news. There is one such story that male Spanish officials were strip searching American woman tourists in Cuba looking for claimed messages from rebels. This was the front page of Hearst’s newspaper showing what has become known as “yellow journalism” whereby the illustration was by Frederic Remington published in the New York Journal, February 12th, 1897.

Hearst’s New York Journal was called out for this fake news by its rival Joseph Pulitzer’s, New York World,  reporting that this story was erroneous and its graphically illustrated strip-search of a woman aboard U.S. passenger steamer was fake. The Journal article was written by Richard Harding Davis, who reported that Spanish authorities boarded the U.S. steamer, the Olivette , as it prepared to leave Havana and searched several passengers for contraband. Among the passengers was a young Cuban woman named Clemencia Arango, whose brother was a leader in the insurgency against Spanish rule. The Journal’s article was ambiguous, implying the woman was strip-searched by men, which was created by the accompanying illustration of Frederic Remington.

The New York World attacked the Journal’s fake news, quoting Arango as denying that men had strip-searched her. That task, she said, had fallen to a matron, or “inspectress.” The Journalist Davis, in a letter to the World, then blamed Frederic Remington for having drawn “an imaginary picture” and insisted his dispatch had not report that men had conducted the search.

Nevertheless, this story of the strip-search discredited the Journal as being unreliable and prone to publishing “fakes” and other thinly documented reports. Welcome to the present where the New York Times and Washington Post seems to be carrying on in the same unreliable manner as well as ABC, CBS, NBC, and of course – CNN.

Friedman ThomasOf course, Thomas Friedman of the New York Times has won the Pulitzer Prize three times – it seems it has become the award that does celebrate yellow journalism for whom it was named. If the Democrats were clean, then even if Russia hacked the DNC, there would have been nothing to release. Moreover, nobody has accused Russia of altering one single email. This is outrageous blaming Russia for their candidate losing instead of admitting they got caught.

This interview is a disgrace to the New York Times and to MSNBC. Comparing the hack of DNC to Pearl Harbor and 911 where thousands of people died is just insulting.

Apparently this Russian “hack” is now being accepted as fact.

Has anyone ever actually given any definitive proof Russia did it or was behind it?

Or has it just been repeated so many times people have come to believe it?

That’s right. Accepted fact.

RUSSIA INVADED CRIMEA!! People who believe these lies are hopelessly clueless deluded dumbfuks. Or, about 75% of the country.

In today’s fake world, fake news needs no facts to be accepted. Makes sense though. We live in a fake world (suburbia in most cities), populated by fake people (botox, skin treatments, face lifts, “cosmetic surgery”, Hollywood). We live in a fake economy (unemployment lowest in 8 years, and housing “affordable”, incomes are great, college is affordable etc.). Fake news just fits right in.
I am afraid that the only way this is going to end is when nature eventually intervenes and shatters all of this fake everything with a huge dose of sudden reality. This is the moment that will separate the sheeple (in the fake world) from the real men / women that deal with life in “the real”. Unfortunately, for everyone, real bombs and real war, REALLY does kill people and ruin lives, but don’t tell that to the sheeple, as that is nothing more than “fake” lies by us deplorables.

There’s no doubt that Friedman is a laughable bullshit maestro. He couldn’t be otherwise and write for the NYT. But I think it’s not only that the news just got so much more dishonest as we all got better at detecting it. It’s obvious to me that the intelligence cabal has been directing the “news” for a generation. After all it was they who invented the term “disinformation”. That is likely the cause of their venom aimed at Trump. They now hear the ice cracking beneath their feet.

Thomas Friedman is a member of the Rockefeller/CFR, along with Andrew Sorkin, Michael Bloomberg, Bill Clinton and George Soros. See member lists at cfr dot org. He was also a speaker at the Davos WEF this year.

Agreed, no definitive proof of anything. The DNC hack could have been a leak by Bernie Supporter, Podesta Hack could be anyone that can guess a simple password or they said it was a Phishing Attack. Both cases never denied the email content…..still crying little babies that they got caught with dirty underwear and a poor candidate. at least Trump was a CHANGE candidate, Hillery ran on Obama’s failed policies. However when Hillery called Trump supporters Deplorables & Irredeemable that sort of derailed her lead at the time , while Obamacare premiums rose 25-150% a few weeks before the vote and the FBI second take of emails on Weiner’s Laptop 1 week prior to voting…wonder why she lost. Bottom line, they lost Obama voters in the blue wall who were voting for change as they were losing jobs…..it’s the economy stupid (Bill tried to remind them).

Trying to start a war over this is the ultimate in insanity, cognitive dissonance. Even if it was proven that one of these was russian government supported, it is sort of ironic as we have been directly involved in over 100 elections and dozens of overthrown elected leaders and govts. Iran is responsible for all the issues in the middle east today…so in 60 years we still have not learned anything. Overthrowing Latin American country’s elected govt for fruit companies, War with Vietnam over FAKE news….on and on and on.

In future elections I can already hear the wailing…….If a Dem wins, it is ‘the will of the people’ but if a Rep wins….’Russia did it’ !

When they start telling the truth about “CO2 Global Warming”, Chem-trails, Economic Statistics, sterilizing vaccines and GMOs, UFOs; race, crime & education; vote fraud and MSM Polls, etc then I might watch the news (but I doubt that will be in my lifetime).

Who? I have been ignoring the media for so long, I am afraid I don’t even know most of these carnival barkers anymore….On a side note, but related. If you ever meet one of these asshats in person, and want to really effect them emotionally, just don’t acknowledge who they are. Most of the Hollywood and cloud people are all about who they are. If one comes up to you and says their name (like in a hotel lobby, or at a function), simply ask “Who?” The look on their face is precious. They will get all indignant for not recognizing their “greatness” and have a mini temper tantrum on the spot. In my line of work, I meet a lot of these “people” at functions and meetings. The worst thing for a cloud person is not be recognized for their “accomplishments” and suffer anonymity. Funny really, and oh so much more effective than disagreeing or refusing service etc.

I always liked him better than Hannity – even though I disagreed with him – because Hannity just regurgitates talking points. Now, if Ezra Klein or Krugman or Charles Blow died, I think I’d throw myself a party.

I agree Iska. You may remember in Ron Paul’s 1st run when he faced down Guiliani on blowback in the So. Carolina debate (I wonder when Caroline Kennedy will give him the “Profiles in Courage” award for it)? It was Colmes who came to his defense against the simpleton Hannity. There’s much worse out there.

The false flag promoting press is the lapdog of the oligarchy . Always has been. The purpose of liberating Cuba from the Spanish oppressors was to exploit the cheap agriculture labor -mostly sugarcane. Same with liberating Vietnam from the Chi-Coms . Cheap labor albeit this time, industrial labor. And of course Dubya’s WMD excuse for invading MENA. BTW, the Bushs owned about 2000 acres in Cuba that was lost after Castro overthrew the CIA puppet regime , which is why GWHB supported the Bay of Pigs fiasco. All wars are resource wars.

George Herbert Walker, maternal great-grandfather of George W. Bush, member of the wealthy family headed by Prescott Bush, was a director of seven companies operating in Cuba since 1920. These were dedicated to the production of sugar, distillation of rum, and railroad infrastructure. They were called The Cuba Company, The Cuban Railroad, Cuban Dominican Sugar, Barahona Sugar, Cuba Distilling, Sugar Estates of Oriente, and Atlantic Fruit and Sugar.

These were merged in 1942 into the West Indies Sugar Company, which was nationalized in 1960 by the Cuban revolutionary government [of Fidel Castro].

In 1953, George H. Walker died, but his namesake son, George H. Walker Jr., the uncle of George Bush, took up the reins of those seven companies. That same year, George Bush, father of George W. Bush, entered the oil business and founded the Zapata Oil company in Houston, Texas, creating Zapata Offshore as a subsidiary.

In 1958, Zapata Offshore signed a contract to exploit petroleum deposits 40 miles off the Cuban shore, north of Isabela de Sagua in the province of Las Villas. This venture was cut short by the triumph of the Revolution in 1959.

However, even with the possibility of business and investments with Cuba ruled out, George Bush Sr. remained president of Zapata Offshore until 1966.

Zapata Offshore and its head, George Bush, are both linked to the CIA, as was shown by declassified documents from the US Secret Service. Also because the records of Zapata were destroyed. A good while after 1960, the Secret Service moved to protect George Bush when he began his political career and destroyed all the records between 1981 and 1983, when he began his term as vice-president. There were motives.

What is true is that regarding West Indies Sugar and Zapata, it is very likely that the Bush family, as well as being hurt in its business relations and investments in Cuba, may have maintained some “right” to reclamation after the nationalizations of the Revolution. Recall that many companies have continued to maintain these “rights” up to now, hoping to recuperate the properties or a higher compensation [than originally received], under the complicity of the government and laws of the United States.

Fletcher Prouty, an ex-CIA officer, confirmed in his 1973 book, The Secret Team, that two of the ships used for the Bay of Pigs invasion–the Barbara and the Houston–were renamed and repainted by Agent Bush in the naval base of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, before being sent to Cuba, and that his company, Zapata Offshore, was used as a front.

In summation, there is no “black hole” in the relationship between the Bush family and Cuba. Everything is clearer than water, and there is nothing hidden to investigate.

Flash- The Bush crime family is just one example of how the press never told the truth, the whole truth, and nuttin but the truth about the cabal members we get as our (cough) presidents. Don’t look for that to change either.
“Dark Legacy” is a good doc about the subject matter of your post and the first half is about the coup and JFK.

Matt Taibbi is a leftist but he’s written multiple reviews (epic mockings) of Tom Friedman’s so-called thoughts. Google Taibbi Friedman and you can have yourself an enjoyable hour or two. That Friedman has three Pulitzers is hilarious. If I had a Pulitzer, I’d sent it back.
