The Syrian Gas Attack Persuasion

Guest Post by Scott Adams

According to the mainstream media – that has been wrong about almost everything for a solid 18 months in a row – the Syrian government allegedly bombed its own people with a nerve agent.

The reason the Assad government would bomb its own people with a nerve agent right now is obvious. Syrian President Assad – who has been fighting for his life for several years, and is only lately feeling safer – suddenly decided to commit suicide-by-Trump. Because the best way to make that happen is to commit a war crime against your own people in exactly the way that would force President Trump to respond or else suffer humiliation at the hands of the mainstream media.

And how about those pictures coming in about the tragedy. Lots of visual imagery. Dead babies. It is almost as if someone designed this “tragedy” to be camera-ready for President Trump’s consumption. It pushed every one of his buttons. Hard. And right when things in Syria were heading in a positive direction.

  • Interesting timing.
  • Super-powerful visual persuasion designed for Trump in particular.
  • Suspiciously well-documented event for a place with no real press.
  • No motive for Assad to use gas to kill a few dozen people at the cost of his entire regime. It wouldn’t be a popular move with Putin either.
  • The type of attack no U.S. president can ignore and come away intact.
  • A setup that looks suspiciously similar to the false WMD stories that sparked the Iraq war.

I’m going to call bullshit on the gas attack. It’s too “on-the-nose,” as Hollywood script-writers sometimes say, meaning a little too perfect to be natural. This has the look of a manufactured event.

My guess is that President Trump knows this smells fishy, but he has to talk tough anyway. However, keep in mind that he has made a brand out of not discussing military options. He likes to keep people guessing. He reminded us of that again yesterday, in case we forgot.

So how does a Master Persuader respond to a fake war crime?

He does it with a fake response, if he’s smart.

Watch now as the world tries to guess where Trump is moving military assets, and what he might do to respond. The longer he drags things out, the less power the story will have on the public. We’ll be wondering for weeks when those bombs will start hitting Damascus, and Trump will continue to remind us that he doesn’t talk about military options.

Then he waits for something bad to happen to Assad’s family, or his generals, in the normal course of chaos over there. When that happens on its own, the media will wonder if it was Trump sending a strong message to Assad in a measured way. Confirmation bias will do the rest.

There is also a non-zero chance that Putin just asked Assad to frame one of his less-effective Syrian generals for going rogue with chemical weapons, and executing him just to calm things down.

I don’t think we’ll ever know what’s going on over there. But I think we can rule out the idea that Assad decided to commit suicide-by-Trump.

My first thought also–almost immediately upon hearing the story I thought, ” what the hell could it possibly benefit Assad in the slightest to commit a nerve gas attack?”
He’s in a good spot with Russian allies, the Turks more intent on the Kurds and a POTUS who is fine with “letting those over there settle their own affairs.”
ISIS has been getting decimated and has essentially been driven out from their “capital” in Mosul as well as the Aleppo airfields have returned to Syrian govt control…
I’ve seen enough behind-the-scenes footage of “Pali-wood” fake sufferings and the propaganda of the dying little girl in Syria for me to at least question immediately the validity of a story/scenario that makes no sense except to the uninformed.

The tell will be this weekend AFTER the Senate vote on SCOTUS. Once McCain and Lindsey vote to put Gorsuch on the bench, then maybe Trump can back off. After all, he’s good at talking book, and then doing either nothing or changing. If he screws the pooch on Syria… well… he’s still better than Hillary. He’s gonna screw up on something sooner or later. But my hunch is, he’s playing the press and probably using this to get something from Putin or Assad or McCain , etc… in a week it will be a nothing burger. Especially with Xiu in Florida…. this story will get eclipsed soon in the MSM.

Trump is not trying to take out Assad, just trying to adjust his attitude; but needs to get his attention first, hence the Tomahawk two-by-four.

Teatard, let’s hear your spin on this latest Trump fuckup. Your usual blurb answers won’t work. Trump just fired missiles at a country with whom we weren’t even at war, in direct defiance of everything he claimed to be about during his campaign.

You’re going to find it hard to maintain the fiction that you aren’t a blind GOP koolade drinker if you confuse neocons with brave men.

May be a CIA operation, or, may be it’s a Russian trap. There are too many sociopaths on both sides.

Russia has been humiliated in the past (like when Turkey shot down a Russian plane) to make them look as paper tigers. It would not be a surprise if Russians are staging this to show that America lacks resolve and strenght his standing in the middle east.

I imagine a situation to evolve as follow:

Trumps promises to do something, Russia say there is no proof, that it is a false flag, that they won’t allow Americans to convert Syria in another Libya. Then deploys S300, S400, Su’s and Mig’s, Kalibr, T90’s and troops all over Siria.

They also put their nuclear forces on high alert.

And China issue a veiled threat to the US not to continue with its “imperial” nation building experiments or “else”.

And Iran “tests” a nuclear device (probably provided by the Russians)

And then play chicken. May bee the public opinion in the US swerve away from neocons when faced with nuclear war. There is a difference now than when the Cuban missiles crisis happened. At that time, people trusted the government to work for them, but now….

To which I add the, “why is this in any real way our business” — i.e., the business of the good ole USA to intervene ?

If two of my neighbors are beating each other shitless, why would I want to intervene and risk a bloody nose ?

And no, I am not my brother’s keeper, whatta load of bullhockey that line is.

Actually, the quote, “am I my brother’s keeper?” has nothing to do with being a “line” or about protecting your brother/neighbor…
They were the words issued by Cain ( who had just MURDERED his brother Abel) when God asked him about it—so actually, the context is the exact opposite of what you think it is.

Just some info FWIW–otherwise, I also say screw them, maybe they could have a mass scale Islamic war and reduce the Muhammad followers by a billion or so….( the whole world would sleep more peacefully at night)

I call complete and utter bullshit on this entire “Syrian Sarin Attack”.

1) Why would Bashar do this? He knows that it will bring in the US, which under Trump is not going to prance and preen about Red Lines and then go play golf. Who really benefits here? I am betting it is the Al-Queda affiliates/ISIS that wants to draw the US into this quagmire since that worked out so well for us in the Gulf War 2 in terms of American soldiers dead/injured as well as the hit to our economy and international standing.

2) Russia and the US supposedly got rid of all of Bashar’s stockpiles several years ago. It didn’t make a lot of news at the time. Putin is many things but he knows these Middle East maniacs well enough to know that even if he supports them right now that is no guarantee that there won’t be sarin gas in the Moscow subway the next week. He might “support” Bashar or the Iranian mullahs but I guarantee you that Putin is not letting these maniacs get their hands on the real goodies. It is mainly to show opposition to the West that he does this.

3) The pictures of the rescue people treating the “victims” of the gas attack is totally bogus. Sarin is a liquid, that rapidly volatizes to a gas. It is spread by skin contact and by inhalation. As an oily liquid, it is very persistent in the environment. If these victims were drenched in sarin then why the hell aren’t the “rescuers” suffering sxs of Sarin exposusure while they assist the “victims” WITH THEIR BARE HANDS???? I did NBC training during my stint in the US Army Reserves and had additional training as a medical officer. We did training kitted out head to toe in these heavy rubber outfits, with an NBC mask, which was no picnic in the Central Texas heat/humidity of Ft. Hood I assure you. Did any of these rescuers in Syria have ANY kind of protective gear? No.

4) Any kind of persistent agent like sarin totally contaminants the entire area in which it is deployed which is why no sane person deploys it in an area he/she wishes to someday occupy. Why would you use it in a Civil War when you will later want to bring this territory under your control?

No, I fear Trump has been played by the neocon shitweazels like McCain et all who have been jacking off about US involvement in Syria for the last 5 years.

I have been worried about Trump not getting rid of the Obama hold overs fast enough and being co-opted by Goldman Sachs and the Deep State. I pray to God this isn’t true, becuz if it is, we are DONE.

Ron Paul had it right, again, the Gandalf of our age. This is a total false flag designed to draw the US in yet another worthless war in the ME, to enrich the MIC, to satisfy the Deep State and to divert the American People from the fact that TINVOWOOT.

We survived the cold war.

Is this the same ? Will we survive this ? It surely feels different . . .

For example, JFK surely seemed adult in his handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis. But then he was a spoiled child like Clinton or Wilt Chamberlain, ( and others ) pursuing any woman he wanted to bed. Is that a dis-qualifier for being an adult ? Damned if I know.

If I may offer an opinion here : TRUMAN WAS THE LAST GREAT PRESIDENT. He was certainly the best President in the last 100 years, bar none.

Study the man. I recommend starting with the book “Truman” , by McCullough.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truman_(book)

A truly great man for all seasons, going back to WWI when he raised his own Artillery Company, led it to France, and kept all of his men safe but for a couple who died in accidents over there ( from memory ) .

From Truman to Trump in just two generations . Sheesh ! And Trump coulda been great ( I think ) but he has already been co-opted by the cult of Washington and the NeoCons.

How sad for America.

Attention Assad…..and Putin, Iran, Jong-Un, China, ISIS, Obama, Hitlery, and terrorist everywhere: after 8 years, America has it’s balls back. DON’T MESS WITH THE DON. Assad can stay, but must “behave” according to International conventions. Don’t gas your citizens, especially children & babies. This is NOT war, but simply an up-side the head attention-getter.

IF the intel on the gas attack is accurate, then you are all wrong about this pin-point strike. It should turn out to be an effective, well timed attack with many international and domestic benefits without significant loss of life of anyone.
