Democrats Seek to Make the Enlightenment Die in Darkness

If you just accept that everything progressives say is a lie designed for the sole purpose of enhancing their power, your life will be a lot more pleasant. You are going to be able to relax, secure in the knowledge that you are not hearing things, that up is not down, that you are not crazy, because you understand that each individual syllable leftists utter is a self-contained capsule of pure deception. And once you embrace that reality, you will see clearly that as a conservative dedicated to truth, personal liberty, and our Constitution, your only course of action is to destroy their putrid ideology and crush their hideous pinko dreams before their beady eyes.

Maybe that will convince them that they should return to a politics based upon rights and reason instead of pure power, but if it doesn’t, so what? You’ve still destroyed their putrid ideology and crushed their hideous pinko dreams, and thereby kept yourself and your fellow patriots from the perma-serfdom or worse that they intend for us. No, we won’t lose unless we give up, and the only way we will give up is if they pester us into submission.

Time to get conserva-woke to the new reality. Time to stop pretending that leftists are participating in good faith in what was the old paradigm of American politics. They aren’t, and we can’t go on as if they are. Understand that; don’t be some whiny, bow-tied conserva-dork pretending our current system is anything but the Octagon – and we better choose to be Chuck Norris. We’re just blessed that those who wish to make us serfs decided to conduct their coup using unelected bureaucrats and PC nagging as their primary weapons systems. Luckily, we now have all three branches of the government and a whole bunch of AR-15s.

Advantage: real Americans. Now is the time to press it.

Oh, there was a time when we had a system composed of laws and rules and norms and customs, some formal (in the form of statutes and the Constitution) and some informal, like shared commitments to the rule of law, to media objectivity, and to reason. But now we don’t. Sure, we have laws on the books and a Constitution, but without a commitment to the rule of law, those are just words on paper. Worse, they’re the words of dead white males on paper, none of whom identified as gender-fluid. Well, maybe Hamilton – there’s got to be some reason the libs are now so in love with xim.

And don’t even start on about the media’s commitment to objectivity. On CNN, you have the otherwise unemployable Fredo of the Cuomo Nostra basically saying, “Oh, they had to bug the Republicans because of the Russians, who are now bad according to this DNC memo!” We’re in the middle of Watergate to the nth power and the media is actively covering for Barack Hussein Nixon. Also, Ben Rhodes makes for a super wussy G. Gordon Liddy – I expect their respective federal prison experiences will be significantly different.

But it is progressives’ total rejection of the norm of reason that is the real problem. It’s actually a wholesale rejection of the Enlightenment by those who babble loudest about being enlightened. Facts, evidence, logic – they have determined that these are horrendous obstacles to the imposition of their progressive dictatorship, and they are trying their best to stamp them out. In the place of offering Fact A and Fact B as the reasons to accept Conclusion C, they instead offer Hack Cliché A to lead to Pre-determined Conclusion B – as in “Be Silent and Obey Us.”

A conservative might argue, “Studies and experience show that the government giving free money to people tends to make them less likely to work and causes disintegrating family structures, leading to more poverty.” To which a progressive would respond, “You racist!”

Or a conservative might argue, “History has shown that military weakness and strategic indecision emboldens dictators.” To which a progressive would respond, “You racist!”

Or a conservative might argue, “Cheeseburgers are better with bacon because bacon is awesome.” To which a progressive would respond, “You racist! Plus I’m differently-abled due to lactose intolerance and also bacon offends our Muslim friends. So you’re ableist and Islamophobic too.”

Responding to reasoned points with personal attacks is not an argument. It’s throwing a tantrum in the hope your opponent will simply grow frustrated and give up. Now, there’s nothing inherently wrong with appropriate personal attacks – I love them, because stupid people need to know they are stupid – except you can’t run a democratic republic solely based upon invective and hope to have it remain a democratic republic. But that is the entire Democrat agenda: “You people are deplorable and are morally required to obey us!”

If you can’t rely on reason, you can’t have a functioning democratic republic. And we don’t. Look at how the climate change scam debate typically plays out:

“You should give us more of your money and more power over you because carbon in the atmosphere is bad because it will change the weather and make it hotter and, uh, hurricanier.”

“Well, the unadjusted data shows the weather isn’t getting any hotter and there have been fewer hurricanes in recent years, so maybe before we spend a trillion dollars…”

“IT’S ABOUT CLIMATE, NOT ABOUT THE WEATHER!”

“But didn’t you say carbon would affect the weather, so isn’t it reasonable to look and see if the weather is changing…”

“97% OF SCIENTISTS SAY SOMETHING THAT I CAN’T ACTUALLY EXPLAIN COHERENTLY! ALSO, RACISM!”

A liberal will tell you that he, she, or xe loves reason and logic and science, and then the next moment will tell you with a straight, often-horsey face, that a man can transform into a woman via the magic of wanting. It’s actually quite liberating for them, since the manifest results of leftism have been so uniformly appalling. No longer are they enslaved to the patriarchal paradigms of chromosomes and genitalia! They are woke from the coma that is the tyrannical oppression of objective truth.

Which brings us back to the essential point – “Everything a liberal says is always a lie.” And to deal with it, we too must move beyond our attachment to old-fashioned reason, at least for the time being. Instead of reasoning with them, we must embrace the raw power of our raw power. Nuking the filibuster is just the start; we must jam every conservative policy we can conceive of right up their collective Schumer.

While we have the power, we need to go at them fast and hard, with such a volume of conservative change that their defenses of SJW fussiness and media whining are overwhelmed in a righteous onslaught of right-wing awesomeness. Think of it as political dodgeball. You can dodge one ball pretty easily. But three balls at once? Six? A dozen? And now, instead of dodgeballs, imagine you are throwing wrenches. Yes America, let’s get all Patches O’Houlihan on these simpering pinko femboys.
