According to the Digital Market Outlook (DMO) by Statista, the country with the largest share of adults paying for a dating service is the United States. At 26.4 percent, over a quarter of Americans are spending their money on trying to find love (or a sexual encounter) online. The DMO analysts classified ‘dating services’ as either ‘matchmaking’, ‘online dating’, or ‘casual dating’. Making up the top three were the UK and Germany with 20.8 and 17 percent respectively.
Wow. 26%? With people everywhere you look, people have to pay to find love? Maybe adults are scared shitless to approach another adult in a romantic way for fear of offending? Especially at work I assume.

Dating services may be a way of saving time and weeding out those types.

I find it hard to believe as well. I told my wife once that if I had never met her and I was young in this day and age I would run the table. I know I would have more than 2 kids for sure. Seriously though, there are thousands of ways to meet people without paying. I feel sorry for anyone who can’t find someone.
