It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. The truth and only the truth.

Legendary investor Warren Buffett was famously quite candid about the perverse incentives surrounding wind energy. “I will do anything that is basically covered by the law to reduce Berkshire’s tax rate,” Buffet said, “For example, on wind energy, we get a tax credit if we build a lot of wind farms. That’s the only reason to build them. They don’t make sense without the tax credit.”

That’s entirely true. The EROEI of mis-named “renewables” is not necessarily >0.
[But that doesn’t have anything to do with whether scientists are right or wrong about global warming.]

It’s time to cut the climatons budget lines and be done with this crap once and for all. If Al Gore wants to chase this this goose he can…with my blessing for he has much more money than I do.

Former Energy Department Undersecretary (under Obama) Steven Koonin –

“What you saw coming out of the press releases about climate data, climate analysis, was, I’d say, misleading, sometimes just wrong,” Koonin said, referring to elements within the Obama administration he said were responsible for manipulating climate data.

Scott has gone off the reservation since the election. I suspect Dilbert will start disappearing from newspapers soon. TPTB don’t want a popular cartoonist making fun of the company line.

Is Al Gore a fake scientist, a trans-scientist, an Alt-left scientist or just a Useful Idiot?

Civilization (not just industrial civilization) is a heat engine. Organized human activity produces waste heat: the more activity and the more humans, the more heat released.

Is Global Warming Unstoppable?

Heat + ice => melting.

[All of this so-called “debate” is like the bible-literalists who want to “teach the controversy” of evolution as though evolution were still somehow controversial. (Somehow these bible-literalists keep breeding and “improving” domesticated plants and animals, though…)]

Scientists warned that burning a lot of fuel would warm the planet back in the 1800s:

I dare say Svante is a hell of a lot smarter than Scott.

Physics =/= Economics. In the above cartoon, Adams takes the fact that economists do crap work in justifying the parasitical nature of “the economy” and turns it around to imply that all scientists do crap work. This is offensive and perfidious, but it shows the magician’s distracting sleight-of-hand about which Adams has written knowingly.

The “Limits to Growth” MODELS from MIT show that we are exactly where they said we would be back in 1972, including the values for pollution (of which waste heat is one form, and CO2 another).

3 downvotes? Buckos, Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away. (Philip K. Dick)
