Yesterday, it was reported that the Canadian government will pay convicted terrorist Omar Khadr CAD$10.5 Million (about $8 million USD) in “damages” for his imprisonment at the US prison facility for terrorist suspects in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Fox News provided context on Khadr’s past crimes:
Khadr was 15 when he was captured by U.S. troops following a firefight at a suspected Al Qaeda compound in Afghanistan that resulted in the death of U.S. Special Forces medic, U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Christopher Speer. Khadr, who was suspected of throwing the grenade that killed Speer, was taken to Guantanamo and ultimately charged with war crimes by a military commission.
The Canadian-born Khadr pleaded guilty in 2010 to charges that included murder and was sentences to eight years plus the time he had already spent in custody. He returned to Canada two years later to serve the remainder of his sentence and was released in May 2015 pending an appeal of his guilty plea, which he said was made under duress.
When you’re talking the type of individuals released from Guantanamo Bay, clearly you’re dealing with extremely dangerous terrorists that often return to the battlefield. But it isn’t every day you equate that with paying a convicted terrorist for his “hardship” suffered at the hands of a government… that isn’t even the one paying out the settlement.
Even worse, The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), a taxpayer-funded Canadian conglomerate, released an “opinion” piece defending the government’s conduct using the flimsiest possible excuse – “brainwashing”:
Omar’s father, Ahmed Said Khadr, was a terrorist commander who raised his child to follow in his footsteps. Canadian-born Omar was enlisted as an al-Qaeda errand boy when he was still a tween. And the terrorist group’s website praised the father for “tossing his little child in the furnace of the battle.” Whether brain tissue is cut out with a scalpel or moulded by a sociopathic parent, the destruction of moral agency is the same. No one reading this can say, with certainty, that his or her life would have turned out different from Omar Khadr’s if he or she was raised as he was.
Finding the correct balance becomes impossible in a climate of hysteria and paranoia. Khadr deserves his apology, and his money — even if it won’t buy him back his lost Gitmo years. If the outlay helps us remember not to lose our moral compass the next time a child soldier comes up for judgment, it will pay dividends for years to come.
Yes, Canada thinks “torture” at the hands of the US government is grounds to not only release a convicted terrorist, it is reason to pay said convicted terrorist a monster lump sum… even when the government has its own veteran health issues to deal with.
And just in case you were wondering if this was just a “Canadian” thing or not, take a look at the example of Lee Boyd Malvo, the youth involved in the DC sniper attacks in 2002, who had his life sentence thrown out recently:
Malvo was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the sniper-style attacks committed around the region in October 2002 along with John Allen Muhammad. Ten people were killed and three others were shot during a three-week period.
Malvo appealed to the court saying he should not have been sentenced to life without parole because he was 17 years old at the time of the murders and he based his appeal on the Supreme Court ruling in Miller v. Alabama.
The decision in the Supreme Court case ruled juveniles are constitutionally different from adults for the purposes of sentencing “because juveniles have diminished culpability and greater prospects for reform,” which makes them “less deserving of the most severe punishments.” Judge Raymond Jackson agreed and ordered the overturning of the sentence.
Malvo’s case has been remanded back to Spotsylvania County Circuit Court to issue a new sentence.
So even though the US courts have agreed that juveniles are different from adults with similar risk of “brainwashing” by adults, no one in the Malvo case is arguing for his release, much less a multimillion dollar payout for his “suffering” in prison. Malvo will simple be getting… a new sentence, which will likely still amount to a long time in prison with the potential for release as an old man.
Yet, in Canada, youths who kill US and coalition troops on the battlefield get the red carpet treatment; release from prison “pending a new trial” and a monster payout for his “suffering” at the hands of a foreign government. Go figure.
And yes, you should be very concerned about what Khadr might do with his newfound riches. As Free Market Shooter previously pointed out, The Weekly Standard has demonstrated the substantial likelihood of Guantanamo detainees returning to the battlefield:
He wasn’t finished. “Keep in mind that between myself and the Bush administration hundreds of people have been released and the recidivism rate—we anticipate, we assume that there are going to be—out of four, five, six hundred people that get released—a handful of them are going to be embittered and still engaging in anti-U.S. activities and trying to link up potentially with their old organizations,” Obama said.
That wasn’t true. When Obama made this claim, 653 detainees had been released. Of that group, 196 had been confirmed (117) or suspected (79) of returning to jihadist activity upon their release. Those numbers came from the office of the director of national intelligence and represent the U.S. government’s official count of Guantánamo recidivism. Nearly one-in-three former detainees returned to the fight, not a “handful,” as the president suggested.
Oh, you don’t think Khadr is likely to return to the battlefield? Perhaps you should take a closer look at this:

Yes, this is video used at the trial of Khadr, which shows him constructing IEDs with other terrorists in Afghanistan. Canada seems to think he is worthy of release and a huge monetary settlement usually reserved for wrongful convictions. Certainly, $8 million can buy a lot of IEDs… as well as who knows what else that can be weaponized against American troops.
Thankfully, the US courts have seen what Canada is up to, and are working to prevent Khadr from being paid the funds, instead seeing the money go to the widow of the soldier who he killed:

Tabitha Speer and Layne Morris allege Mr. Khadr was responsible for the death of Sergeant Christopher Speer and Mr. Morris’s injuries in Afghanistan. Two sources say they are expected to ask the Ontario Superior Court as early as Wednesday to uphold a 2015 Utah civil court judgment ordering Mr. Khadr to pay them $134-million (U.S.) for his actions in Afghanistan.
“They are trying to get an emergency injunction in a Canadian court to have their award in the United States enforced in Canada,” one source said. “Their desire is to have U.S. courts enforced in Canada, which would mean that any money that goes to Mr. Khadr would go to them.”
But unfortunately, it looks like their efforts will be in vain.
A federal official said the prospect of the courts ruling in their favour is remote.
If you’re looking from an answer from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose government organized the settlement, good luck getting one, because he made sure to dodge the question. Free Market Shooter has been concerned with Guantanamo detainees being transferred to prisons in Oman, Bahrain, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia, because of the sympathies they might face within those governments, but did anyone expect to add Canada to that list?
Trudeau’s inability to answer the question is hardly surprising. At the end of the day, there is nothing you can tell taxpayers when the government is constantly slashing funding for veterans, yet doling out payments for frivolous lawsuits to convicted terrorists, who could very well use these funds to return to the battlefield against US and Canadian soldiers.
Because if Canada and Mr. Trudeau don’t make sure that Khadr doesn’t see a dime of these funds, that’s exactly what will be occurring.
Canadians from coast to coast are angry and appalled by this payment to a terrorist. However, 6 months ago Trudeau made 10s of millions in payments to 3 other suspected terrorists. Marxist-islamist Trudeau was elected with only 39% of the vote. However, he won enough seats to have a majority gvt, which, in Canada is an unchallenged dictatorship.

I disagreed with Obama letting Khadr out of Gitmo. I disagreed with Harper accepting him back into to Canada, despite treaties obliging him to do so. I disagree with Trudeau rewarding this enemy combatant terrorist who fought against the West and who murdered an American.
I hope the widow of Sgt. 1st Class Chris Speer, whom Omar Khadr murdered, is able to take every penny of Khadr’s $10.5 million gift from Canadian taxpayers as part of the wrongful death lawsuit judgement she won against him in 2015.

I can only hope you are right. My grandfather came from Nova Scotia and was a from simple farming family. I never met him, but I did have the privilege of meeting almost a dozen or so of his brothers, sisters and cousins. I would have to think there would have been a short ride out to the fields to take care of an issue like this.

I’m a Canadian, and can say with absolute certainty that I and many other Canadians believe that he should have never made if off the battlefield. Live by the sword, die by it.
The only mistake made was putting him in prison. They should have executed him in the streets, and 10.5 million less would be going towards terrorism.

If someone told me a revolution was underway I’d be on my way right now to buy a pitchfork and tiki torch at Canadian Tire to march with among the mob. As it is, all I can do is complain online. I went to university but the government wouldn’t even give me enough for the full tuition. I had to work to pay my remaining tuition, buy 1200-1600 in books and equipment each term, plus pay my rent, and my food bills. I experienced slow starvation every month as I couldn’t work full time and attend university full time. They wouldn’t give me enough to cover the full tuition because I couldn’t check the Visible Minority box.
But if I had just arrived in the country (on the Canadian dime), as a Syrian. I would have been given $25,000 for free to get started, handouts for me, my nine wives, and my thirty children for as long as I want to stay on social assistance, since there is no time limit on how long parasites can leech off a Socialist governments welfare system. My dad remarked about this because he’d worked his entirely life and when he retired he liked to go to Tim Horton’s to read his morning paper. He would talk with other retirees doing the same, and made friends with two who had been on welfare their entire lives. They were both getting as much as he in old-age pension.
So you do nothing all your life accept take handouts from the government, then you get as much as someone who worked their whole life to pay the taxes that were used to pay for your life of leeching.
These immigrants are given free education payed for FULLY by the government while all their housing and food bills would be paid for by the same Canadians that they are being given the tools, training, and ability to eventually lord over in the future.
America is seeing the same thing, you just have a stronger Christian/Republican presence to let you hold out a little longer. Also, you are large enough that you have multiple news outlets that may be mostly for the terrorists and socialists, but at least there’s a couple voices speaking out against them. You already have Muslim terrorists fighting to fundamentally reshape your Congress from the inside. Take a lesson from Canada. Where there’s one rat, a nest of them is being raised nearby. Where there’s two or three rats, a full-scale invasion is already underway.
And if anybody wonders just why would the elite Liberals be willing to accept known terrorists, give them handouts, embolden and enrich them?
Easy answer: Christians are morally and fundamentally opposed to the ideologies of Liberalism, Socialism, and Communism. They do not coexist very well. This is evident every time the Liberals try to push something that seems absolutely insane. The Christians get up in arms and make a fuss, forcing them to back down. The Liberals already tried for the past century to demoralize and destroy the Christian opposition, they’ve certainly weakened it from the time of the Constitution when the entire government were religious and proud of it. But even having many of the country becoming deluded, Christianity is not going anywhere. So they have an alternative that will fit well with Biblical prophesy of the future.
Let me be a prophet for a moment: The Muslims will be brought in with little control or regulating of their immigration (already been done, but more are coming). They are fundamentally opposed to Christians (and all other religions, including atheism).
The majority of Christians will still retain power however. So the government will gradually institute laws to support Muslims, while simultaneously stripping rights from Christians (already being done). Christians, being oppressed by Muslims who see all white people and Christians as slaves and less than human, will eventually be pushed too far.
Conflict will arise. Meanwhile, the government will first issue arrests and break up protests where possible, while simultaneously increasing police presence in surveillance and domestic security (already being done, see New York’s new 300 man strong police force being developed with high tech equipment, specialized training, and gear for rapid tactical response geared entirely at population control and using metadata to predict and stop crimes before they begin (Minority Report, except using metadata and predictive algorithms instead of fortune-telling triplets). Or look at Obama’s increased spending to develop covert mobile surveillance units like those used in V For Vendetta, that are currently patrolling neighbourhoods and spying on the populations private residence and communications).
Once you have the tension levels just right, and the population control and policing infrastructure in place, you have developed a turn-key Socialism. You can declare an emergency. Shut down the rights of religion for a new science based nation that will no longer be swayed by the influences of the religious. The Christians and Muslims conflicting, with the flames being fanned by Liberals, will lead to an end to rights and freedoms for the religious, or the conservative or republican, or the free willed person who doesn’t think the next step is the right one… once enough nations are on board, Socialism makes way for Globalism. One people – the global citizen with no national history or identity. One belief – A united religion of all world religions, but with globalist propaganda and spiritualism as it’s only beliefs or sermons. One united governing body – A single governing council made up of representatives of the formerly independent nations. This is what they will create.
Interesting facts: Since the beginning of recorded history, many wars have been recorded for posterity. One almanac combining the statistics of all known and recorded wars puts the death toll at approximately 360 million killed in wars since recorded history began documenting the deaths.
Of that 360 million, nearly 150 million are attributed to nations that were under the control of atheistic government parties.
So in approximately 6,000 years of recorded wars up until the 18th century they were all ruled by theistic government parties of one form or another. That means that in only a couple centuries, with only a handful of Socialist/Communist countries, they have committed half of all the number of deaths. This is because life has little value to someone who believes that all came into existence by chance. What does it matter if you have your commanders shoot your own troops for trying to retreat after they were thrown at an enemy with bullets but no gun? (Germany-Russia) Or what does it matter when you know you are losing but decide to tell your soldiers to kill themselves with swords and grenades, or to kamikaze their planes into ships? (Japan-US/Australia) Or what dose it matter if you invade a peaceful religious neighbour and regularly arrest, torture, and oppress their population for nearly a century (China-Tibet).

Can only come to the conclusion that all people have equal rights and worth, and the Liberals flawed ideology whereby they always elevate the smallest part of a population to a position over the majority is only a scheme to keep power in their hands and continue towards their goal of Socialism.
Why Socialism? The Liberals owe their voter base to the minorities of the nation and to many government employees, since a more conservative government will cut social programs and government jobs, they are in direct opposition to the Liberals voter base. In contrast, when a Liberal government is in power they are able to repeatedly bolster their future. This is done by bringing in as many dependants as you can find from foreign nations. This creates more people dependant on your government. Having more dependants means you must have more government employees to tend to them. So Liberals are a self-eating snake. They bring in dependants, who vote for them out of fear of losing handouts. Then they bloat government to tend to the dependants, and many social programs, which in turn creates more voters since they vote Liberal for fear of losing their jobs at the tax-payers expense. However, this slowly creates a state that is non-producing, all-consuming. Look at Greece. They had almost their entire country on social assistance of one form or another. With almost everyone living off hand-outs from the government the only option becomes to keep the most Liberal government in power so they keep printing money for their dependant voters. Until you try joining a union and the EU investigations show that you are a Socialist sinkhole full of leeches.
This is what they are doing to Canada (NDP killed our oilfield by driving away companies with greedy taxes. Then they give themselves a raise because they state that “we work harder during economic downturns”, without accepting the fact that they created the same downturn that they are using to extort the now jobless taxpayers. And now Trudeau says that if the oilfield picks up by the Alberta government reducing costs to attract companies, then the Feds will step in and slap Alberta with a hefty Carbon Tax. So basically, if you try to get out of this slump, we will punish you for it).
And it is what they are working on in the US. I won’t get into Europe, most of them have gone too far already and couldn’t recover if they tried. It makes sense though. The Roman Catholics mobilized almost every European nation against the Muslims the first time they tried to dominate the whole world. It only makes sense that the Muslims would begin by infiltrating and weakening them beyond redemption.
We are at war, a war for independence, a war for liberty and freedom. We are in the middle of WWIII, whether people decide to open their eyes in time is a question for posterity. People are too distracted by pop culture to bother. Another part of Liberal agenda I should quickly add. The movement to legalize marijuana as a recreational drug. I have used it extensively in my youth, and it is by far the most influential reality suppressant you could ever release on a population. It makes people complacent, encourages unhealthy lifestyle that can lead to psychical weakness and/or obesity, absorbed in entertainment so that you are far more easily distracted, and more easily controlled through paranoia. So basically, you become a cow.
Cows are distracted by the grass they munch on. They will consume whatever their masters throw in front of them to fatten them up, even if they’re eating their brothers or sisters (mad cow disease). They are easily controlled by fear, their natural paranoia. And they are the Liberals idea of a perfect population.
Everything from the government, everything for the government. This idea is ancient. In the story, the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh comes to realize that the only way you can truly rule a people is if they worship the government as god. But the only way to separate people from God, is to make them dependant for everything from birth to grave, from the state. Even though it was written in ancient Mesopotamia roughly 4100 years ago it is the motto of these new movements of Socialism and Communism. To make people entirely dependant on the state from birth to grave. But this can only be achieved if you can separate people from God.
