Hypocrisy, thy name is…Al Gore?
A new, more-than-slightly amusing report from The Daily Caller alleges that the former vice president just might not be practicing what he preaches when it comes to the environment. Namely: his house in Nashvile uses 34 times as much electricity than an average house. According to the Daily Caller, the amount of electricty that Gore uses to heat his swimming pool over the course of a year could power six average households.

In just this past year, Gore burned through enough energy to power the typical American household for more than 21 years, according to a new report by the National Center for Public Policy Research. The former vice president consumed 230,889 kilowatt hours (kWh) at his Nashville residence, which includes his home, pool and driveway entry gate electricity meters. A typical family uses an average of 10,812 kWh of electricity per year, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
It gets worse.
Last September alone, Gore devoured 30,993 kWh of electricity. That’s enough to power 34 average American homes for a month. Over the last 12 months, Gore used more electricity just heating his outdoor swimming pool than six typical homes use in a year. (Daily Caller)
Yikes. That’s…certainly something.
Of course, Gore has argued in the past that this is okay, because he pays for solar panels and contributes to a green energy fund, but his house still receives the same non-renewable energy as his neighbors. Plus, Gore owns two other properties that presumably also use electricity.
Since leaving office, Gore has spent a considerable amount of time and has received dozens of awards for his work on protecting the environment. This is certainly a laudable goal, but it’d seem less shallow if he actually practiced what he preached.

I wish someone at some publicly televised Q&A session with Gore would ask ask if using the same amount of energy he uses is what the average American should be striving for.
Of course that isn’t going to happen and would be edited out of anything but a live broadcast if it did (I don’t think they can edit live broadcasts, but maybe delay time makes that possible too).
It is becoming tiresome – having to read the constant bashing of a ‘special person’. We should be grateful that this human has
devoted his life to concern for the health of the planet; and his wallet.
Of course he’s entitled to more than us; he’s a politician. He has the right to talk out of both sides of his mouth.
If that bastard had won the little state of West Virginia he would have been President. At that time West Virginia usually voted Democratic like 95% of the timne, but his mouthing about the evils of coal shot him down in that state immediately!

Why is it publicly available knowledge how much electricity Gore uses?

Al Gore, Shawn Penn, Leo DiCaprio and the rest of these Hollywood / libtard “activists” need to all go take a long walk off a short pier. Each one of these types are hypocrites of the highest order.
Libtard DiCaprio took a private jet ($6000.00 / hr) and enough carbon to choke off the life of a small wildlife preserve, to of all things a climate conference. This was so he could make a speech about how it was important that the rest of us serfs should “save the environment” by force of course.
There is a special place in hell for these asshats, and the sooner everyone shuns these pieces of human excrement, the better off ALL of us will be.

Pretty sad considering that solar water heaters for pools are quite inexpensive, run with just the pump you already have, and are simply masses of small black tubes in panels that get hot in the sun and can raise the temperature a significant amount. But then those are purchased by people who aren’t making billions off carbon credit sales and by people who actually give a damn about energy usage.
