Is America on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown or Civil War?

BY ROGER L SIMON Via PJ Media

On Friday, Michael Savage — conservative talk show host and Berkeley Ph.D. in nutritional ethnomedicine — referenced Nathaniel West’s classic 1939 novel about the burning of Los Angeles, The Day of the Locust, to describe what will occur in the USA should Trump be brought down by his assorted “Globalist” enemies.

People will “resort to mob violence” when they “are finally aware of the fact that they’ve been tricked by their society, and that no matter how hard they work as middle class people” they are denied.“That is what’s going to happen in this country,” Savage said. “You have not yet seen mob violence in this country. You’ve seen some mob violence instigated by George Soros’ mobs. … But you haven’t seen the thing I’m telling you is coming in this country. You haven’t seen the ‘Day of the Locust’ yet.”

“Deplorables” gone wild and burning down our cities?  Civil war?

Savage seems to agree that the common man, whom he names Eddie, would not be amused: “And if [the left] take(s) Trump down, through (Special Counsel Robert) Mueller or through any other source and deny Eddie his vote, there will be a civil war in this country.”

As is well known, Savage, a onetime pal of Allen Ginsberg and other Beats, is now considered by many to be a “conservative extremist,” therefore a fringe personality from the fever swamps of conspiracy land. Nevertheless, he is the no dummy and is the author of 40 books on subjects as disparate as Alzheimer’s and beer-tasting, not to mention economics and politics. Few of his critics have anywhere near the vitae.

But that’s the anecdotal part. The more important question is is he right — is our democratic republic about to explode? Can the Deep State co-exist with an awakened populace, even a partially awakened one? Increasingly, beneath all the leaks and counter-leaks, the missing emails and accusations, what we are looking at is a sclerotic system that has become increasingly built on self-preservation and not on the people’s will, in fact is largely disinterested in and disconnected from that will.

Call Savage an extremist or whatever you want, but the truth is we are clearly on the edge of something explosive. The number of leaks is astronomical and they seem to come from everywhere, including our intelligence agencies, the FBI, and inside the White House.  Just the other day we learned the FBI lied about the existence of documents pertaining to the tarmac meeting of Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch.  When the most important law enforcement agency in our country lies and leaks, as it has more than once now, something is truly wrong. It’s rather frightening, actually, and combined with the serial “unmaskings” from NSA intercepts calls to mind that quote from Comrade Beria many are referencing lately: “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.

Much is being covered up. The list, as we all know, is long.  And the people — notably those “Deplorables”  —  are not going to forget if Trump is defenestrated. And they are not going to forgive either. They shouldn’t.

I do not exonerate Trump completely in all this. He has not been as sophisticated a leader as he needs to be — shooting from the hip in too many instances and making poor judgments in the hiring department on occasion. That he is “just a businessman and new to politics” is not a good excuse, especially when he has told us he has been dealing with politicians for years. He almost seems, oddly, naive.

Still, compared to his adversaries, Trump is St. Francis of Assisi. Although nowhere near as entertaining, they are acting out like the lunatics in Milos Forman’s “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Next.” The reason, I think, is they feel threatened in ways they never expected to be. Hardly anyone working there, Democrat or Republican, thought Washington would ever change, nor did they want it to — even when, perhaps especially when, they pretended otherwise. The gravy train was too good. And Obama, their ally, the Deep Stater par excellence, had lulled them to sleep. They woke up in a rage.

In 1988, Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar scored one of his first big his with the black comedy titled, in translation, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.  But that didn’t quite represent the Spanish title because in Castilian an ataque de nervios is slightly different from a nervous breakdown (crisis nerviosa).  As Wikipedia explains,

Ataques de nervios are culture-bound psychological phenomena during which the individual, most often female, displays dramatic outpouring of negative emotions, bodily gestures, occasional falling to the ground, and fainting, often in response to receiving disturbing news or witnessing or participating in an upsetting event. Historically, this condition has been associated with hysteria and more recently in the scientific literature with post-traumatic stress and panic attacks. [5]

Remove the “most often female” as a one-time nod to political correctness and what you have is a pretty accurate diagnosis of the state of the American left today, not to mention some of the “Never Trump” right.  It’s an ataque de nervios – hysteria too often justifying evil or sleazy behavior, even, dare I say it, “witch hunts.”

Will the next step be civil war?  Since we will all probably find out about it first on TV, “stay tuned” seems an appropriate answer.

There is a cold civil war now. I’ve never seen it this bad and think it will be a long, long time before any resemblance of normalcy returns.

The great majority of Americans don’t have the stomach to fight. What they will do instead is withdraw. More people will move to the country and small towns. They will reduce their incomes to levels that avoid taxes. They will stop voting and instead devote their civic energies to their town directly. They will disengage from government in every way they can.

All the crazy SJWs and rich Ds in the cities will they get to work productively with the poverty class (homeless, blacks, etc.) to make a true liberal utopia.

I can’t wait to see that!

Excellent post. I’m well down that path and it’s glorious. Violence is the state’s forte-their only trump card. Don’t play their game. Drop out. Play small ball. Work within your communities. And for Christ’s sake Stop Voting!

I think the liberal utopia is already a reality and working as designed in Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, etc. They deserve each other.

“What they will do instead is withdraw.”

I’ve done this. LLPOH did this. Karl Denninger did this.

As the Roman Empire was winding down due to corruption, over-concentration of wealth and declining economic returns, with increasingly punitive taxes to boot, withdrawal from the empire and de-centralization was a widespread reaction and movement.

No guarantee that there won’t also be a civil war, but I think the overall trend will be withdrawal and decentralization.

It’s difficult to imagine picking up stakes and moving to smaller communities, as my family is invested in a home and a job here and I don’t think the job market will be booming in other cities that I’d consider moving to. If it happens, it will be forced and will resemble the long lines of migrants flowing into Europe with no funds and just the clothes on their back. I believe there will be violence way before “Eddie” picks up and moves on to a “hopeful” better living in a smaller town.
So to sum up, stand and fight will rule the day, I just don’t know how much middle class Americans will take before the feces hits the fan and the aggression pours out into the streets.

“Things have to get better, they can’t get any worse. Just because things can’t get any worse, is no reason to believe they can’t get any better. They might just stay the same. Who says things can’t get any worse? They just may get worse, before they get much, much worse. So bad in fact, that it would be all downhill”.

Pretty doubtful that there will be an uprising as you describe. Trump is hated across the country far more than he is loved. When all the money laundering comes to light the Republicans will turn on him, they will prosecute, he will be impeached and life will go on. Trump is an embarrassment to our nation, he is an unqualified, narcissistic demagogue who spends most of his time revealing in his “Victory” and shitting on everyone (anyone) around him. He won…now STFU about it and do the fucking job ! A leader with confidence does’t constantly compare themselves to their predecessor or formal rival, that is a sign of complete and utter weakness and poor self confidence. Hillary lost because she is corrupt, what Trump supporters (and he himself) don’t realize is that her approval ratings are worse than his…no one cares that she lost, most were happy, Dems wanted Bernie not HRC. Trump is equally corrupt (but in different ways) as HRC, he has created a kleptocracy and will be equally loathed in history.

I know you all want to believe he is some business savant playing some coy game where he is the smartest guy in the room. Sadly, ALL evidence and history point directly and firmly to the contrary. He will go down with a HUGE vote against him and the nation will celebrate.

No..the Dems (voters) wanted Sanders and the DNC Party Railroaded him for HRC. They fucked up. Many Sanders votes went to Jill Stein et al. Not HRC. Trump’s constant HRC banter is old and falling on deaf ears..she lost, she doesn’t hold office any more, and most of her popular votes were more against Trump than for HRC. Obama served 2 terms, he’s isn’t our President, Trump is, so he should start acting like it and stop comparing himself to Obama and spending every waking moment dismantling everything and anything Obama did. Further, he has made ZERO ATTEMPT at unifying the country, ZERO. He cares about his base, but his policies are a 180 on what will benefit his base and they will wake to that in due time. He has alienated and emasculated his OWN party and that leaves him left alone. Alone is the most dangerous place in politics. This is why he will be impeached, it will be the GOP that signs his death warrant….Just like Nixon.

This is from Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/The_Donald/comments/63nxsn/update_i_was_tired_of_liberals_saying_trump_hasnt/?st=j5xelulv&sh=52ec5cb5) and is presented free of my comments.

UPDATE: I was tired of liberals saying “Trump hasn’t kept any of his promises,” so I went and made a running list of things he has done so far. (self.The_Donald)

submitted 4 months ago * by Trumps_Totsx2

This is a running list of the promises President Trump made on the campaign trail, and has kept in his First 100 Days in office. Barely any of them have been reported on because of this bullshit Russia conspiracy theory that is swallowing the MSM. He has literally “Done more in 97days than Obama did in 8 years.” This is not only a running list of promises he has kept so far, but also things he has done that weren’t even promised on the campaign trail. MAGA. (I will be updating this as much as I can, whenever a new initiative comes to light)

Edit: Much like our AMAZING president, I have been incredibly busy for the past six months and I apologize for not staying up-to-date. I have gotten many requests to update it and finally have some extra time on my hands, so a big update with many, new YUGE promises kept will be coming soon. The last time I edited it was after his first 100 Days, and this is going to be a six month update. I also noticed that the great creator of Dilbert, Scott Adams, has linked this in one of his most recent blog posts and tells his readers to share it with EVERY liberal they know, and I urge you to do the same. The cognitive dissonance is very real! It has been an incredible 6 months of only his first term, and America has already gotten much greater! (Promises preceded by an asterisk are part of the updated list and have taken place after his first 100 days)

PROMISES MADE AND KEPT SO FAR:

Campaign Promise 1: To replace Antonin Scalia with a like-minded justice from a list of 20

Trump replaced Antonin Scalia with Neil Gorsuch, an incredibly qualified and Constitution-abiding justice

*Campaign Promise 2: To suspend immigration from terror-prone countries

Trump has successfully enacted a Travel Ban that is 100% CONSTITUTIONAL AND is made from the seven (six, now) “countries of concern” outlined by the Obama Administration. This ban is part of President Trump’s promise to keep every citizen of the United States safe from radical Islamic terrorism.

Campaign Promise 3: To defund and crack down on sanctuary cities

Trump has implemented a YUGE crackdown on sanctuary cities, threatening to defund them

*- Attorney General Sessions has stated that he is not messing around when it comes to sanctuary cities, and continues in the fight against cities that harbor criminal illegal aliens

Campaign Promise 4: To revive the Keystone Pipeline and Dakota Access Pipeline

The revival of the Dakota and Keystone XL Pipelines creating American jobs

Campaign Promise 5: To pull the US out of the TPP, an Obama-era trade deal detrimental to the US

Trump pulled us out of the TPP which would have been absolutely disastrous for the US

Campaign Promise 6: DONALD TRUMP LOVES WOMEN AND WANTS TO HELP WOMEN!

Trump has signed an Executive Order promoting women in STEM jobs (careers real feminists strive for, not “dance therapy” feminists)

Trump has Launched a Council empowering female leaders and female entrepreneurs

Campaign Promise 7: To renegotiate, or pull out of Bill Clinton’s terrible trade deal, NAFTA

Trump met with Justin Trudeau (what a joke) to discuss the tweaking of NAFTA to benefit the US more, after he threatens to leave it

*- The Trump Administration has laid out what he wishes to see in regards to NAFTA reform

Campaign Promise 8: To undo ridiculous Obama-era federal agency regulations

Trump ordered a two-for-one repeal for all new regulations enacted by federal agencies

Campaign Promise 9: To rollback Obama-era regulations on small businesses

Trump has rolled back ridiculous Obama-era regulations that have made it nearly impossible for small businesses to hire employees

Trump has already saved taxpayers $86 Billion by cutting regulations

*- Trump has undone hundreds of Obama-era job killing regulations which has helped cause a significant increase of jobs

Campaign Promise 10: To help America’s inner-cities deeply in need of rebuilding

Trump has signed an Executive Order to give major funding to “Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” helping out inner-cities immensely

Campaign Promise 11: To protect our policemen, the true everyday heroes

Trump signed an Executive Order protecting our police

Campaign Promise 12: To crackdown on illegal immigration and to BUILD A WALL

Trump has implemented a YUGE crackdown on illegal immigration and he has started the WALL initiative

Campaign Promise 13: To bolster our depleted military

Trump has increased our military budget because we don’t want to use our military, but want to be prepared to use it

Campaign Promise 14: To enact a five year lobbying ban on government Officials after they leave office

Trump has placed a five year and lifetime lobbying ban on government officials for when they leave office

Campaign Promise 15: To crackdown on drug cartels and illegal drugs crossing the border

Trump signed an Executive Order cracking down on drug cartels

Campaign Promise 16: To revitalize the dying coal industry in the US

Trump has enacted Joint Resolution 38 putting thousands of coal miners back to work

Campaign Promise 17: To create American JOBS and bring companies back to America

Trump negotiated a deal with Carrier promising to bring manufacturing and jobs back to the US.

Trump has met with CEOs from huge companies to work on bringing jobs back to America

There was an increase of 298,000 jobs in February alone (liberals will say that counts in Obama’s fiscal year, but we know the truth)

Trump met with Intel CEO who promised $7 Billion investment and over 3,000 high paying (not “shovel ready” bullshit jobs) in America

Trump met with the CEO of Softbank who has promised 50,000 more American jobs and has already fulfilled 3,000 of those jobs

Kroger has promised over 10,000 new jobs in the era of Trump

The month of March yielded 263,000 new jobs, which passes the month’s estimated 185,000 Big League

Campaign Promise 18: Pushing NATO allies to pay their fair share or face the reality of the US possibly leaving

Trump has put major pressure on the members of NATO to pay their fair and equal share because there are only a handful of countries in NATO who currently pay as much as agreed upon

Campaign Promise 19: To make America energy independent, relieving us from our dependence on foreign entities, such as OPEC

Trump has taken major steps towards America’s energy independence

Campaign Promise 20: To enact a hiring freeze on government employees to help stop corruption

Trump enacted a hiring freeze to all federal employees, cutting down on the over-bloated bureaucracy

Campaign Promise 21: Trump could be the president that takes us to Mars!

Trump signed a Bill allowing NASA funding, including an exploration to Mars

Campaign Promise 22: To undo many of Obama’s unconstitutional Executive Orders

Rescinding (one of) Obama’s incredibly unconstitutional actions regarding transgender bathrooms in schools

Campaign Promise 23: The repeal and replacement of Obamacare. The recent GOP fallout of AHCA Plan was no fault of Trump’s. The blame solely belongs to Speaker Ryan. He created a shit bill and couldn’t even capitalize to get enough votes. Obamacare will crash in 2017 when individual mandates kick in and Democrats will be to blame. That is when Trump will truly work to Repeal and Replace it with a plan he promised us.

Trump got rid of the idiotic penalty in Obamacare that fines you if you choose not to participate in the program

Campaign Promise 24: To “Bomb the shit out of ISIS”

A few days ago, Trump dropped the YUGE MOAB on a group of ISIS militants, killing 90+ terrorists and causing damage to underground tunnels and technology

He called for a drone strike in Afghanistan killing Qari Yasin, a Pakistani Al-Qaeda leader

Campaign Promise 25: To not take a salary as President

He donated his first quarterly salary to the National Park Service

Campaign Promise 26: To reform the VA and make it easier for Vets to get more healthcare opportunities

He signed A Bill allowing veterans to seek healthcare outside of the broken VA system

Trump has created the Accountability Office at the VA, making it incredibly easy to oust incompetent VA employees

Campaign Promise 27: To create a much needed tax reform

Trump has laid out an extremely concise, yet effective Tax Reform Plan to lower taxes for Americans and end things like inheritance tax, and to cut corporate tax rates down to 15%

Campaign Promise 28 (Scroll down to see “School Choice and Education Act”): To fix our country’s incredibly broken education system

Trump has signed an Executive Order giving the power of our country’s education back to state and local authorities

ACTIONS NOT PROMISED ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL, BUT HAVE BEEN PUT IN EFFECT:

(Even though it was Mike Pence) The defunding of clinics that perform abortions. Because no matter whether you are pro-choice/pro-life, the government should not be funding abortions. (Also, if people bring up the Hyde Amendment which is supposed to not let any federal funding go towards abortions, LET THEM KNOW that US taxpayers pay for about 24% of abortions despite of that “amendment”)

Huge spikes in the NASDAQ average index and the DOW average index starting November 8th. (This will count for Obama unfortunately, but we know where the real credit belongs.)

He has placed sanctions on Iran after they tested ballistic missiles

He has met with/talked to over 68 foreign leaders

He negotiated down the Price of the new Air Force One one billion dollars in a meeting that lasted just one hour

He issued major cuts to the costs of the F-35 saving billions

He has opened the eyes of the American public to just how unbelievably corrupt (pretty believable to most) the Obama Administration was.

After spending 3 years in a prison in Egypt, and absolutely no help from President Obama, humanitarian and US citizen Aya Hijazi has safely returned home and has given all credit to President Trump

60 million are 14 and under ………… they ain’t fighting

35 million are Kneegrows ………… they ain’t fighting, unless you take away their Free Shit, which is about as likely as me having an erection lasting “longer than four hours”

52 million are Hispanics …….. they ain’t fighting, cuz they’re too busy picking lettuce and doing other hard work

40 million live in California …… they they ain’t fighting, cuz they’re fucken morans, at least according to Mark Dice interviews I’ve seen

32 million are homos and dykes and other dickless wonders (according to them 10% of the country is deviant …… they they ain’t fighting because, well they’re homos and dykes and dickless wonders

In case you’re counting that leaves just 13 million people.

And they ain’t fighting cuz 12.9 million are middle class (mostly) white folk working their fucking asses off supporting their families …. PLUS all the fuckers above.

That leaves 100k people like me. Poor. Unfit. And decrepit. And I ain’t fightin’ for you fuckers!!

Thanks otc.

I’m not even sure poverty will cause a civil war. Look at all the impoverished nations around the world. It seems the poor don’t fight simply because they are poor. We didn’t have a civil war during the Great Depression.

This empire comes “completely unglued”, I believe, only when enough people have no hope.

I’ve asked both my parents how they endured the Soviet prison camps. They both unequivocally reply with ‘hope kept us alive’. It’s a testimony you’ll read over and over from folks who endured those kinds of situations. (Just as those with no hope are often the ones who die quickly.)

I don’t know when this hopelessness comes to America, what will trigger it, or if enough people become hopeless to start a revolution/civil war. Who does? But if it comes, it will be very fucking ugly and horrible, and many will curse the day they were born.

Here I go again harping about the same thing.
If you want to get out, then learn about “domicile”. In short; domicile is the place you choose to be your true home. It’s where you intend to put down roots; the place you intend to go back to. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. Domicile determines the jurisdiction, the laws, that are over you. You can get out of the jurisdiction of the US government. Just change your chosen domicile. Domicile is a place of your choosing. You can have only one domicile. You can have a “residence” in many places, if they will let you be there.
Domicile has nothing to do with where you are living, your ethnicity, where you were born, your religion, your wealth, your land ownership, only has to do with the place that you choose. You don’t even have to be living there. You can be in residence elsewhere, and as long as you want to.
Where have you chosen as your domicile? I’m sure that you didn’t even know that you made the choice. That’s because you have never been told about domicile. That’s because the US government has nothing to gain, but only to loose, if you learn it. The US government didn’t include it in your basic education, but it is included in your Social Security card and number. You are presumed to be domiciled in Washington, D.C.
But what does that mean to you? read the article at:
noconstitutionforyou.blogspot.com
and read the link in that article that explains domicile:
sedm.org/Forms/05-MemLaw/Domicile.pdf

What his enemies done’t take into account that all the attacks against Trump just strengthen him. He ran on the ‘drain the swamp’ ticket, not as a republican. So when the leaks come, the NY Times attacks, the republican party turns against him, etc., he can simply say “See, I told you so. I am the Deep State’s worst nightmare, and they want to take me down because I won’t play ball and I don’t need their money! Hillary took money from the Russians, and I’m supposed to be colluding with them?” He has a point. The idea that dumping Trump will change things is ridiculous, since the underlying conditions that got him elected will remain. If they have only suspected that the fix is in no which party is nominally in charge, his departure will confirm the idea. Then, people will look to other alternatives. If Trump is impeached on anything but unassailable evidence of the strongest sort, he will be vindicated in the eyes of a lot of his supporters, and there may well be trouble.

People will fight when they have to. Civil war means people pick a side and try to kill those on the other side. That requires a leader who is willing and able to lead. I’m not sure we have that leader yet, but if he does arise, I’m certain the millennials will follow and surprise us all. It is clear that the deplorables are are getting very agitated. My own mother who is an old pacifist woman who had her children during the 60’s was supportive of some kind of civil war to stop the traitors in Washington. So I conclude that the tinder is dry and just waiting for some kind of spark. Impeachment by itself probably won’t do it, but add some kind of concurrent terrifying event and I think all hell breaks loose.

Actually Im a libertarian shill/shit-stain who hasn’t drank the Trump® branded Kool-Aid. Our nation needs a leader not an idiotic man-baby who throws twitter tantrums any time someone dares to disagree with him. He acts like the press is a modern invention and he is the only world leader who has ever been challenged by them ?? His ass needs to toughen the fuck up, shut the fuck up and do his damn job. I mean he only has the House, Senate and Supreme Court on his side, but somehow the press, HRC and Obama are his nemesis ? Yeah o.k.

You are so right. How long did we have to listen to Obama blame everything on Bush? Trump’s got everything he needs to make a difference and yet he won’t. He’s too busy listening to hard-core Repubs working behind the scenes to pull him far right. IMO, Pence was a VERY bad choice; not only does he know how to work around any meaningful change, his ridiculous right-wing ideas are representative of everything this country DOESN’T want.

Time for Trump to listen to the people he can trust and get the job done. Identify the leakers, push the deep state treasonists into the open and then get down to fixing this country.

There will be a Civil War in the South and West. About half the population are dumb FSA maggots who riot at the first opportunity. Men won’t sit on their asses during the next “Watts” and watch their businesses, homes, cars and neighbors get robbed and torched. The “bluebelly” states have plenty of FSA and precious few men; it won’t be war as much as urban slaughterhouses.
