The wave of fist salutes, mass kneel downs and absences during the national anthem is having a seriously bad effect on pro football’s bottom line 
. The NFL claims they’re surprised and disappointed about the decline of attendance and viewers. Unlikely. One report says they’re “praying for a turnaround” . Ain’t going to turn around because they don’t want a turnaround.
Black Power demonstrations during the national anthem are an in-your-face taunt, another middle finger salute from Only Black Lives Matter. The specifics aren’t important. It’s not about issues. It’s about The Diversity’s contempt for anyone not them. Yet they expect us to cheer them in doing for sports what they did for Ferguson and Detroit.
They also expect us to believe this is high-minded Age of Enlightenment stuff, not lame political posturing and race-baiting imported from the worst years of the ’60s. Their minimum goal is to push back the limits of our tolerance a little further. And anyone who calls them out for it is “divisive”, as if fan solidarity with their witless tantrums is a given. Sorry. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
The players call themselves athletes. No. They’re entertainers, or were until they became self-absorbed exhibitionists. They’ve made their choice, the NFL has endorsed it and doubled down, even though it’s obvious that insulting the paying customers is a losing business model. This is the first article I’ve seen that addresses the real issue with these protests; that the entire narrative is a lie. Blacks for the last 50 years have zero experience of actual discrimination. They’ve known only preferences, in education, hiring, promotion, treatment in the media, and yes, coddling in the legal system, including by police.

If you are black, and say any of the things I listed above, as Charles Barkley did recently, you are called an ‘uncle tom’ or ‘house nigger’ by other blacks and SJW whites.
There is no making them happy. Cave to whatever ridiculous demands they make today, they will be back tomorrow with another set of even more outlandish demands. Police have been staying away from them, for fear of becoming the next Darren Wilson, and they have responded by killing each other at an even greater rate, which makes the cops racist, too. I think government is a great example of this. I once worked as a contractor for an agency and I saw scandalous shit. Once a black got into a position of authority, they would hire any other black he possibly could, regardless of ability or qualification.
Then, once the hire proved to be a complete moron, they would fall all over themselves to protect him from the predictable disaster he caused. The other black employees would close ranks to protect the idiots, too. You can’t mess with a black dude’s meal ticket, even if he’s incompetent and practically sabotaging the office. A white dude, on the other hand, can expect them to find any possible reason to try and get rid of him. They would make a pact to get rid of someone and try to come up with all sorts of petty complaints. Oh, and the side projects and unethical relationships with vendors and service providers was fun to watch. One supervisor channeled govt money to his friends for “services” of dubious value, even dubious existence. One dude, I never figured out what he delivered to justify being paid. This same supervisor used his position and time to work his own secret contracting firm on the side.
Later, in another shop, I watched black team leader hire a black female with a large rear end for no apparent reason. The job interview for her was a few minutes of small talk. She persisted the entire time I was there. She never showed up for work, never did any work when she was actually there, and spent any time she was present on the phone talking with her friends and reading glamour magazines. She would arrive at 10, leave by 1, and be out doing Uber and Lyft. The boss (black guy) knew and didn’t care. Later, we had a white guy take over and he figured out what was going on and refused to fire her. He moved her desk to be right across from his front door and kept tabs on her constantly. He would call around, trying to figure out where she was hiding, but took no action for her absences. I think he was afraid of a racism charge, because he threatened to fire everyone else for minor incidents and mistakes.

Responsibilities:
The senior communications strategist will be responsible for proactively developing plans and strategies aimed at publicly positioning the NFL to key audiences through all communication channels, both traditional and emerging media. They will work closely with communications department leadership to create messaging to reflect the league’s wide variety of priorities and expedite organizational decision-making.
Additionally, the strategist will:
Provide crisis communications counsel to leagues executives.
Devise strategy and long term vision to strategically position the NFL in the sports marketplace.

The Remington Research Group asked Americans, “Last week, Donald Trump said NFL players should stand and be respectful during the national anthem. Do you think NFL players should stand and be respectful during the national anthem?”
64% of respondents said yes, 25% said no and 11% were unsure.
Even Democrats said players should stand for the anthem at a ratio of 43%-41%, while African-Americans agreed they should stand 48%-37%.
Almost double, 60% to 31% said there was a “more appropriate” place to demonstrate than during the national anthem at the beginning of NFL games.
The poll also illustrated how Americans are sick and tired of having politics injected into absolutely everything.
When asked, “In the future, would you prefer to see more politics, less politics, or the same amount of politics during sporting events?,” 80% wanted less politics, with just 7% wanting more politics.
With 51% to 19% saying they had watched less football this year, the vast majority – 69% – said it was due to “Players using the NFL as a stage for their political views.”
The poll also found that far more people had a favorable view of Donald Trump (46%) than of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell (12%).

I always saw the national anthem and the “ritual” surrounding it as a sort of test. The test is a simple one: Can we bipedal monkeys agree to do even one thing without fighting? Can we put aside all our myriad grievances long enough to pretend to be united for even just the two minutes it takes for someone to sing the national anthem? Obviously today the answer is no.
This ritual isnt the place for a person to air their grievances. It isnt the place to make a personalized statement. The only statement you need to make is that yes you are indeed capable of getting over yourself and at least pretending to be united for a measly two minutes. Is that really so hard to do? Is that really too much to ask? We do it out of simple respect for all this country has survived through over the past 240 years.
