In California the ability to obtain a CCW is dependent on in which county a person is full time resident.
In counties such as Santa Clara Co. (where I am) and Los Angles Co., San Francisco Co., the average person is just never going to obtain a CCW. In Counties such as Mariposa, Shasta Co and other rural/mountain regions, obtaining a CCW is not all that difficult. It is entirely dependent on the Sheriff of each County and their attitude toward the Second Amendment.
The interesting thing is that if a person has a CCW issued by one of the “may issue” counties, that person can legally carry anywhere in the State of CA, even in the counties that do not issue CCW to the average person.

I’m pretty sure OR is “May Issue” and is left to the discretion of each county sheriff. This may apply to non-residents though. I’ve never been an OR resident.

Hmmmm…..,again,can someone loan me their bill or rights decoder ring please?I keep trying to find in the 2nd anything about permits/classes/law abiding(founding fathers would be called terrorists now) ect.Tis like free speech,either is for all or non,keep criminals in jail after ending all the dumb laws and the truly violent ones will be dealt with on a permanent basis.All this gun control through the decades needs to be wiped out,not only did the camel get it’s nose under the tent but moved in with all it’s buddies!

There is only one thing politicians and lobbyists fear more than losing an election, and that is taking an unbending position.

“Will a country that strips its citizens of individual armament be as safe and trouble free as the civilian disarmament advocates claim? Can American exceptionalism make it the ahistorical example where liberty and freedom reigns in a country where every peer weapons capability is imbalanced toward a government monopoly on small arms in its police and military? Lastly, can the US government be trusted to do the right thing?”
