This is Our World

I watched this over at Irish’s Blog and started to think about ‘date night’. My wife and I go out on date night every couple of weeks. It’s not always big and fancy, for example last weekend we snuck out of the house to our neigborhood pub for drinks and a bit of dinner after I got home from work. The place was packed. I’m a people watcher so as we are chatting I’m looking about and watching other people interact. Mostly they are Gen X’ers and Boomers. I never noticed anyone with their faces buried in their phone. Every table was full of people eating, drinking and conversing with one other. At least that I could see. I wonder if the key is alcohol :-)? Drink more, text less?? Or maybe it was just the environment? Maybe it was both? Whatever it was it was good to see and a nice change from the video below…

Signs of the times.
I was waiting in a food court at a large mall for she-who-must-be-obeyed, who was in a ladies shop, shopping for ladies things. I don’t go in those shops. A matter of self preservation.
A group of five young girls were sitting at a round table next to me. All were busy staring intently at their little held hand devices, with busy flashing thumbs. I thought, why come out together to share an experience, only to withdraw into their own little individual electronic worlds?
Almost immediately after that thought entered my head, they all looked up at each other and erupted into gales of laughter! Startling me and those around me. The eruption of laughter ended as quickly as it had occurred, after which they all turned their attention back to their own little electronic worlds.
Very strange. Unsettling. I was happy to leave.

You can take solace in the fact they wont be tapping away on their phones while they are being raped by their future 3rd world male overlords. 3rd world refugees and migrants may not have high IQ, but they at least can keep their women under control. Maybe that does make then genetically superior… only time will tell.

I haven’t watched the movie due to the atrocious reviews. But I read the book way back when it came out and liked it. I listened to the audiobook when this movie came out and I still liked it. So I have to ask, was this movie truly bad or did it simply push the wrong buttons in people who are basically one step removed from being outright phoners?

It’s truly bad. Cusack, like Nic Cage, seems to have fallen thru the b-movie floor. (Not that it’s all his fault – poor screenplay. Books being better than movies based on them is not unusual.) But cell phone zombies is life being imitated by art.

Cusak was in a couple of 80’s teen movies and almost made a comeback in Hot Tub Time Machine.

What you’re witnessing and living is the destruction of the human species by an alien intelligence. You think you’re so smart and can see such a thing coming because you watched films like Independence Day. But that couldn’t be more naive. It is so advanced that what it’s doing and how it’s doing it has not even broken into pop culture yet because no one would understand. By the time even just 2% of the population understands, it will be far too late.

I think that the X’rs & Boomers aren’t so addicted to their phones that they can still go out and be social.
I see my phone as a tool, not something I play games on……and lets face it, I pretty much hate people anyway, so I don’t have 2 fucks to give about what some dipshit that is friends with my friend is eating, so I’m never on narcissistbook.
I’m not even kidding about this: the next big wave of addiction centers will be for phone addictions…..if anyone knows of a company doing this now, let us know…..I want to buy that company’s stock.

Boosh!, you may want to look into porta-potties, now that people can carry a utility like a phone in their purse, it won’t be long before they invent a toilet you can carry around with you. I never imagined carrying a phone around, I thought phone booths were perfectly convenient.

My 11 year old son has a watch-phone. Or possibly a phone-watch.

I thought it was pretty cool until I realized that when I was 11 years old, I could make a phone call with a quarter. Which is much smaller than his phone-watch-phone.

A quarter? Damn kids… It was a dime when I grew up, hence the phrase “to drop dime on someone.” Pretty soon it’ll be “drop a Benjamin on someone.” Fuckin’ inflation..

You can use a cell to pretend your on a call. That way, you can cross the street like a moran without looking out for cars. And you can also avoid speaking to people, I kinda like that one.

You can also use it at TBP party when all the fucking INTG’s are gabbing, (the G stand for gabby) and you can’t think of one witty thing to say so you kill time on the cell until you can’t stand it anymore and call in a bomb threat on the place just so you can go home.

Hells Bells, send your money to EC’s P.O. BOX , ASAP Boosh! Doc Pangloss has opened a string of rehabs for cellphone addicted maroons who can’t seem to put the thing down. I read that the average idiot cellphone addict looks at their phone 2700 times per day….are they serious? Thank God sexual addictions don’t have numbers like that or your dick would fall off.

1) NO — this is not “our” world, at all. As you think, so you are. Shaklee, Sr. had it true. Wake up from your self-induced trance. You make of your Self, and you make of your world, what you choose to do with GOD’s gift of Life, Light, and Love. Anything to the contrary, suspect up the Wazoo!

2) Alananda Sanity Bear Oct 20, 2017 6:56 PM

NOW — here & now — the task is to guide folks to a greater, spiritual awakening, beyond the effects of “red pills” (for example, Freedom Force International, G.E. Griffin’s operation, building on his “Jekyll Island” work).

We have first to work through the “GOD IS DEAD” crappola, not very easy, to say the least, given the near universal demise of “formal religions”. We then have to have an alternative path designed, paved, and well signed (!) for those self-identified as “entitled”.

I think the planetary project easy to conceive and formulate, at the start, aimed to follow a trail of robust (rye?) bread crumbs (silver spoon metaphor here) up hill, then, encountering that knife-edge walk where, if you do not take care, you get split in two. Occam’s Razor and the force of Logic both seem sufficient as two of many possible prerequisites, including girding one’s loins for the trek.

I say no more here and now. There is a Way. I lied. Or did I?

One can write words and say Nothing both silently and out loud, correct? One learns to read between the lines — sort of like reading Gordon Duff’s contributions to Veterans Today, only 40% BS. Very unlike reading Jim Stone’s posts. 😉

For what’s it’s worth (thnx Buffalo Springfield).

NOTE IN PASSING: Maybe now REHMAT will get off my case as a “WHINER”, his pejorative, not one I self-identify as, but, whiners never do, correct? I care not. I look forward to encountering this “REHMAT” — I frequent his/her/its website. We shall see.

You give too much credit to beverage alcohol (ethanol) and not enough to human consciousness — the higher expressions of which are, I know, rarely encountered in MSM, blogs and their comment sections. Check out ZH randomly for a good survey of level of consciousness among commenters. I regret, with much less efficient forums (TBP, SLL), we find the same here and there and everywhere.

I did not know that.

It’s funny, I had a similar exchange with i forget and he said nearly the same thing. He also mentioned that he writes as he does mostly to entertain himself; something you also alluded to below.

No — one has to read another’s words in good faith. Good faith and credit, the phrase invoked to inspire confidence in our completely fraudulent “monetary system”. Please do read my posts just as you would an article and comments on Huffington Post, ZeroHedge, or Veterans Today.

Alternatively — this is so-called “alt-media”, right? — cast aspersions, aspire to getting hired as a censor, “down arrow” my post, nay-say, catcall, whatever. You do not engage with mind, heart, or soul the issue or question at hand. To me, you appear to denigrate and cast aside another human being’s honest contribution to enhancing, however poorly or ineptly in your judgement, the quality and knowledge of living among human beings.

Your every encounter with a clerk in a grocery store gives you the same opportunity to affirm and augment their life. You are a fool not to take advantage of affirming the universal upliftment of Life, Love, and Light, inherent in all of us, as human beings. Stop corrupting this thread.

Jus’ sayin’!

Though I lived through and survived the period of time during and about which, if and when asked, one could recall from memory one’s past and relevant experience, one immediately compromised — i.e., called into question — one’s testimony (sworn or not) about living fully in the milieu, immersed in then contemporary circumstances, and engaged in particular, non-anachronistic situations.

I hope you like long, run-on sentences. I enjoy writing them. (Cf. Stephen King’s memoir on writing.)

Hence, my answer to your query is “no”. I remember very well my trek along that long and winding road — a “Beatles’ song” that still brings tears to my eyes — as many tunes of that time do. I still ply my path, and I very much enjoy those who converse with me along the Way. REHMAT included.

GOD bless.

WoWoWoW! Am I getting flak on TBP from REHMAT and, now, EL COYOTE? What target over which I have succeeded to hover should I proceed to bomb???

Sir, Hell’s bells — the direst expletive my Mom (deceased at age 92 years) ever uttered in my presence — do you not have a few real Road Runners to chase down? BTW, I do live in Californication and, as I must, I take gender-centric pronouns VERY SERIOUSLY! I hope my address to you — “Sir” — did not offend.

My counsel and advice to you — Do not hijack this thread any further. To what extent do you consider such an ad hominem as you delivered enhances or inflates your rep (street cred) on this site? Perhaps you can consult with REHMAT on this.
