I used to make a point at the grocery store and the wallyworld to ask the cashier what % of customers pay with foodstamps or EBT or whatever. The immigrant/minority ones were reluctant to answer. The white ones were all too happy to tell you. At the grocery store, it was 50-75%. At wally, the answers were around 75% and up. One cashier, shortly before I gave up a couple years ago, looked both ways and whispered to me 95%.
One grocery store employee griped to me about the welfare deadbeats, especially illegals, who she told me drive up in Escalades and buy lobster and steak on EBT while she can’t afford to buy that and she’s working for a living.
My friend is a very, very dedicated Christian, elder in her church, helps out with everything. She quit giving to and working at her food bank because she was tired of seeing illegals back up their nice SUVs (she can’t afford a new car) and looting the bank.
I don’t give to charity for the same reason-I don’t want to make life any easier for them. If there was a citizen-only means-testing charity, I would happily support that.
