A Wip Wondering

I wonder how many Misanthropes come to TBP.

Misanthropy: the general hatred, distrust or disdain for the human species or human nature. It is a rarely discussed viewpoint held by a small percentage of the population, and it is easy to see why. It is not what you would call “normal” to despise your own species, and thus not exactly the most socially acceptable.

Very rarely will you find a truly vocal member of this mostly silent demographic. Unless presented in a comedic context, much like George Carlin and Bill Hicks did, people don’t want to hear how much you hate them. Nevertheless, misanthropes are out there and it is an especially intense and intrusive viewpoint that presents its own problems. The fact is that you have to interact with people on a daily basis if you want to be a member of modern society.

Seeing as how misanthropes don’t like people, this fact means that they have to deal with issues unique to them. Activities that come natural to most people, like socializing, can be struggles. Consider this a peek into the mind of a human hater, and the common problems that arise from being one. These are the sometimes funny, sometimes serious problems only misanthropes will understand.

Examples from the acticle include…
15. The Feeling Of Being Surrounded By Stupidity
13. Knowing With Certainty That We Are Doomed
19. Pretending To Care About People’s Problems
17. Trying To Avoid People As Much As Possible
7. Trusting People
2. Constant Disappointment With People

More: http://whatculture.com/offbeat/20-problems-only-total-misanthropes-will-understand

I do not believe I am a misanthrope but it’s possible I could become one.  In the movie “The Matrix” Laurence Fishburne’s character called humans cockroaches.  As the human population and digital control grow, I will be more and more misanthropic.

I bred mice. To feed the snakes (when I was an amateur herpetologist boy). When population density in a cage tripped over threshold, mama’s didn’t let their babies grow up to be cowboys. They ate ‘em.

But analogies as simple conclusions can be too simple. & typically are. Linear extrapolation boogiemen.

Not much cannibalism-literal in Tokyo.

“Too many people” is a subjective valuation. Nothing objective about it. “Carrying capacity” is Malthus milk assertion. Carrying capacity is unknown, unknowable…even “after the fact” – some ostensible proof – is more likely an attribution error – cuz it would not be able to account for all the variables that led to that temporary “proof.”

Myths are a main ingredient in all the intertribal\herd misanthropy. Mismythropy? Don’t hate the player, hate the game?s people play? Hate biology? Hate reality? Hate the hand dealt?

Attachment vs acceptance. Know your – & the – limitations. Utopia’s not an option. But pining for it is. “Have a nice life.” Or, “duck, you suckers!”

That last one has more to do with my task today: Duck for dinner. Anybody got a good recipe?

OK, sounds like I don’t KNOW what will happen when/if we ever get to TOO many people. However, we already must rely on many unnatural solutions to sustain the population we already have. Desalination plants and chemicals to help grow food.

“Unnatural” is an interesting distinction…as in “may you lead an interesting life” Chinese curse style. As in a deus ex machina way.

While the only machine ghost I know of that sorts & solves, develops & progresses, is competition on private property (actual property…not metastasized figments) free markets. Anything – which is just about everything in institutional\tribal wo\man’s quiver – that hampers that “contributes” to the dirty laundry overflowing the hamper.

Gutless mofo’s, laundering their gutlessness, via “socialization,” will always be with ye’. Cue the Don Henley tune.

*There’s no such thing as unnatural. Nature’s the container. It holds even arguing from augh•thority Luddites. & econometricians holding variables constant to make models bright. & that auld lang syne tune. ☺

Tokyo doesn’t have cannibalism yet because they still have enough resources to feed and water everyone.
It takes more than just population density, it also takes resource shortages.
In my high school we did an experiment with mice in a fixed environment with limited resources and they also started to eat each other when food and water grew tight.

I had a girlfriend once who loved “people” in the abstract (she was big bleeding heart at the time) but couldn’t get along with any individual person. I’m the opposite. I don’t like “people” as a concept, but there’s hardly an individual in whom I can’t find something to like. I’d probably even like Gary Weinrib if I knew him personally. I think it’s some kind of character flaw I have.

I am fucking sick of: mechanics that can’t fix cars, appliance delivery people that throw away the manuals with the packing materials, plumbers that can’t read, my fucking network people that all want to take off every Friday and leave me ‘the boss’ to do their job, the fucking medical establishment, the idiots that can’t even mow my lawn without fucking something up, charities begging for money – while I pay a shit load of taxes, I don’t give a rat’s ass about the breeders and eaters.

Misanthropes visiting TBP = only a few, as they are mostly all liberals (we don’t get too many of those).

Want proof? OK, just look into the CAGW (GloBull Warming) issue and Uni scum related statements, along with many Environmentalists. They want planet earth reduced to 500 Million people. I did read many of these a few years back and I am sure they can be found on the Internet.

I am NOT a liberal, that I can assure you. I don’t see the problem with wanting some population control. What happens when there are too many rats in a cage? Just look a few of the problems. The need for desalination plants and special chemicals to grow enough food.

i want to have a world where only people like my grandchildren live. every body would have to be under 10 years old. a well cared for happy child is a thing of full and unrelenting wonder and delight. so we would also need some kind of benevolent overlord to take care of them and cause them to get no older than 10. what a great world that would be.

The great American philosopher, Will Rogers influenced me early on. I struggled with “I never met a man I didn’t like”. There were just some people who I felt guilty not liking; because of the quote. I finally realized that every one he met, he gave unbiasedly a chance to be a friend. It was an epiphany to realize I did not have to keep liking them.

http://mentalfloss.com/article/59855/18-timeless-will-rogers-quotes-his-135th-birthday
“I never met a man I didn’t like.”

“Ironically, for somebody who came up with so much Grade A material, most people associate Rogers with a long-lived misquote. In actuality, the full, unaltered line was “I joked about every prominent man in my lifetime, but I never met one I didn’t like.” A few years before his death in 1935, Rogers proposed it as an epitaph for his tombstone. However, the shortened version does appear chiseled upon his final resting place in Claremore, Oklahoma.”

Maybe learning is more important than liking.

I don’t think I truly hate anyone…OK, OK there is the Hildabeast, serial rapist Bill Clinton, John McCain, George Soros, most of Congress, Hollywood scum, Wall Street thieves, etc…to mention just a few that come immediately to mind. But seriously, I do feel like the guy on the Titanic screaming “iceberg ahead” while the Captain is sleeping off a hangover and most passengers are celebrating in the grand ballroom. As an example, my neighbor supports Hillary but hates Trump with a passion and she calls herself an evangelical Christian who is against abortion. It doesn’t seem to register that Hillary and the Democratic Party are big supporters of Planned Parenthood, a diabolical agency that traffics in aborted baby parts. And yesterday I was in the park with my dog when I overheard two ladies discussing how their church was raising funds for Syrian (mostly Muslim) refugees. Let the raping begin. It doesn’t compute which leads me to a quote from Greek philosopher Euripides that I use increasingly these days in an effort to try and make sense of this madness that engulfs the entire western world: “Those whom God wishes to destroy, He first makes mad.” So what do you call someone who feels like the only sane person in a lunatic asylum?

Our population is literally being harvested by the medical racket. Like ears of corn they are harvested. They willingly allow themselves to become diabetic to enrich the cartel, just for the pleasure of eating poison. And that is just one example of dozens. If you’re not misanthropic then you’re someone’s food. Hell you’re probably still someone’s food even if you are misanthropic.

Jesus loves us but evidently won’t stop us from destroying ourselves if we are hell bent on it. The same situations exist for many of us regarding loved ones and friends. I saw this with my mother who used Voodoo, my first wife who became a Feminist, my brother who is in the final stages of smoking and drinking himself to death, and so many friend’s kids who love the World but reject their loving parents and God. However as a teacher, I saw many incredibly stupid kids become Masterful Useful Idiots.

It’s not that I “despise” humans so much as I’m disgusted by “us”. I think of it in terms of lost or squandered potential to be so much better than we actually are in favor of greed and sloth. I suppose it must be a lot like having a child with true talent and potential and seeing them piss it away. Given our past and current trajectory, it’s time to end this human experiment. It was a fine experiment but it’s pretty clear that we are seriously flawed. We made a wrong turn in Albuquerque so to speak.

Our human destiny seems to be to strip mine the Earth or pollute beyond use, every resource imaginable while we entertain ourselves with war and delusion.

I wish there were a way to keep those that show potential and a desire to be better and smoke the other 95% but that’s highly unlikely so I root for SMOD! If Earth itself got to vote I’m sure it would take dinosaurs over humans.

Is there a selectively misanthropic category? Most people are just fine. Some are just assholes who dont need to breathe my air. Even assholes are fine as long they dont try to convert me to their particular brand of assholism or tell me I’m wrong to believe what I know to be true (for me). Would that be ass-holistic?

I took the following from the comments to the original article:

“Jake Arnold · Sydney, Australia
im at that stage where if aliens ever invaded earth and started kiling people, i would plead to the aliens to let me join them in killing people, and if the aliens said we will have to kill you too at the end because your human too, i would say thats a fair deal but for the next few weeks it takes you aliens to kill all of mankind i will join you and have fun doing it”

I had to laugh at that because I posted something very similar in a comment here the other day. I basically said I volunteer to work on the next alien sewage barge to stop by earth if they would just take me with them. I added that maybe I could teach them to come back and start randomly killing the elite, politicians, rapists and child molesters.
