The Wizard of Oz novel by Frank Baum was written about the gold standard. Dorothy wore silver slippers in the book. They were ruby in the movie simply for technicolor.
The yellow brick road leading to a wizard exposed behind the curtain for the fractional reserve system and gold standard. The emerald city for the greenback.
