While complaining about never having enough money for anything but you will note they have enough cash to get tattooed with enough ink to print war & peace and buy Starbucks coffee daily along with vape garbage . A few finance lessons from the likes of Dave Ramsey would fall on deaf ears unless you could get the earphones out of their skulls of mush …!

About 20, maybe 25 years ago I was at McGuckin’s Hardware Store in Boulder, Colorado to get some miscellaneous nuts and bolts. Best hardware store in the whole world-they had everything, top quality stuff, and and a knowledgeable person working each and every isle. (Hey, Admin, anyway you can get some product placement money rolling my way? Just as a reminder, I already mentioned Dodge Ram and RockAuto in comments today.)

Anyway, while the chick at the counter was counting the nuts & bolts and pricing them, I was counting the rings in her left ear and left eyebrow. She had at least 15 inserted around the periphery of her ear and 15 more in her left eye brow.

So, she said, “I make it to be $4.38, total before tax.”

I said, “Think you missed a couple of spots.”

“What?”, thinking I was talking about the hardware.

I pointed at her ear and ventured a guess, ” You can probably get three more in there at the bottom of your ear, and maybe two more at the left end of your eyebrow.”

She gave me a WTF look, the grinned and laughed. Basic diff between liberated ladies then and feminists now.

The “modern” tribalalist…takes himself to be an uber, opposite what he truly is…like starbuck, goes down with ahab…posting anti-social “harpoons” into the white whale mirror…to complain about tribalism.

Humanimal perversity.

Oh, the irony! Those fools won’t miss Capitalism until it’s gone. Let them die. They will not be missed in Galt’s Gulch.

I’m at the Mall of America. Unfortunately no Somalis have blown me up yet.

Iska, the first time I went to the Southcoast Plaza, I freaked. A mall isn’t supposed to be that big. It reduces you to the significance of an ant.

The description sounds like a modern-day beatnik. Has it come to that? Will young Americans take to the road and rage against the machine? For all the freedom won in the sex arena, we are still prisoners of our own devices; cars, iPhones and bitcoins.

George Hanson: Oh, yeah, that’s right. That’s what’s it’s all about, all right. But talkin’ about it and bein’ it, that’s two different things. I mean, it’s real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace. Of course, don’t ever tell anybody that they’re not free, ’cause then they’re gonna get real busy killin’ and maimin’ to prove to you that they are. Oh, yeah, they’re gonna talk to you, and talk to you, and talk to you about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it’s gonna scare ’em.

Free Tibet. But not grammar, spelling. That’d aid & abet chaos…or something.

Free! To conform. Look at my tattoo. Look at my flag. Look at my melanin (under my tattoo).

& that’s one of the definitions of insanity. Lotto ticket buyers keep doing what they do. Compulsively. Reflexively. ‘Redrum’ in so many mirrors. It’s “tradition.” Like today is, for many.

At the least, perversity & ultra short time preference is baked in. Mostly.

Limitations. Design specs. Which doesn’t stop them being framed as heroic, noble, the best, etc. Whole lotta in•fear•iority complex compensation is always going on…between the brothers, sisters, all the relatives.

Maybe I see what you did there. I could transcribe stuff not in the babel brochure. But, as much as it bears, it’s a lot…that’s not in the brochure. Here are the page #’s from Rank’s book, Art & Artist. 188, 253. Well worth this curious cat’s read, ride.

“There really is a sort of sham ‘Socialism’ that the modern politicians may quite possibly agree to set up… Everything in it, tolerable or intolerable, will have but one use; and that use what our ancestors used to call usance or usury.

Its art may be good or bad, but it will be an advertisement for usurers; its literature may be good or bad, but it will appeal to the patronage of usurers; its scientific selection will select according to the needs of usurers; its religion will be just charitable enough to pardon usurers; its penal system will be just cruel enough to crush all the critics of usurers: the truth of it will be Slavery, and the title of it may quite possibly be Socialism.”

— G.K. Chesterton, “Utopia of Usurers and Other Essays”, 1917
