More Gun Violence: Let’s Look Beyond Politics

Another terrible school shooting took place in Parkland, Florida last week and unfortunately many politicians and pundits have used the tragedy – as they often do – to push their own agenda. Many will use the tragedy to argue that Americans should be prohibited from owning guns. As if anti-gun laws would dissuade a disturbed or violent individual intent on causing harm. Those intent on mass murder don’t obey gun laws.

It’s unfortunate that while many are quick to demand that guns be taken away from peaceful Americans, they don’t seem to have much to say about guns when they’re in the hands of government authorities shooting innocent people. If we need any gun control, it is to get control of the guns in the hands of thousands of government employees who use them against innocent people with impunity.

For example, why do those calling for more gun control remain silent when armed federal agents raid Amish farms to stop them from selling raw milk? This shows the hypocrisy of those who call for restrictions on private firearms ownership while supporting the use of government violence as a means of controlling our lives.

Unfortunately there are many key questions lost in the race to score political points from the shooting.

Why does it always seem that the shooter in these mass killings has been on some kind of psychotropic drugs? As the New American magazine pointed out this week, at least ten high profile mass shootings have been committed by individuals who “were either on — or just recently coming off of — psychiatric medications.” The young killer in Florida was no different. According to his aunt, he had been on these medications to treat mental problems.

Why is no one questioning these medications – all of which come with labels warning of horrific side effects? Perhaps one reason they are ignored is that the pharmaceutical industry spends billions of dollars lobbying Congress.

Also, how is it possible that the FBI once again missed so many obvious clues that a violent person intent on causing massive harm to others was about to strike? Is the FBI actually this incompetent, or perhaps its focus was in other areas — like meddling in our own elections by presenting “evidence” they knew was flawed to the FISA court to get permission to spy on the Trump campaign?

We’ve heard many stories of how alert FBI field agents tried to alert their bosses before 9/11 that foreigners were taking flight lessons but were not interested in learning how to land the planes.

Is giving the federal government more power to spy on us – as they demand – the answer to stop these terrible crimes? Hardly!

Those who think that giving federal authorities greater surveillance powers might prevent mass shootings should consider that the FBI has been alerted that the latest school shooter had made Facebook posts and YouTube comments talking about his intention to be, as he put it, “a professional school shooter.” But the Bureau failed to properly investigate the tips. If the FBI fails to stop someone who openly boasts about their intentions on social media why should we believe that giving them the power to snoop on every American would increase our safety?

We cannot stop tragedies like this by banning guns. We need to look seriously into the psychotropic drugs that more and more Americans are being prescribed. We need to demand that our elected Representatives demand a real day of reckoning at the FBI. We need to keep focused and ignore those who politicize such events.

What great guy. I wish people would listen to him. But I think we are past listening to each other. Guest what is next ?

It seems to me that the FBI and CIA are intricately connected with the Deep State. The Clintons, being usurpers to the state, clutching and clawing their way into international politics via connection to a little air base in Mena, Arkansas, used by one military advisor to Reagan to ferry weapons to some freedom fighters in Central America and bring a few items back from the southern regions for redistribution in a few chosen hands.

Most of you have no idea where you can hide contraband on an aircraft which is not likely to be searched by customs, i.e., military clearance.

Anyway, all that drug money went into hidden accounts somewhere… think about how many tons of drug busts in the 80s and 90s, imagine how much was NOT seized by agents? But, by the time the truckload or carload is enroute to the streets, the money to the supplier has already been paid.

Just thinking out loud that the FBI should be dismantled completely. If some sort of investigative bureau is necessary, build a new one from scratch. With a half-century of Hoover’s paranoid spying on everyone in place before the world went spy versus spy crazy, the agency is broken beyond repair. Junk it.

The FBI is doing important things like Man charged with stealing terra-cotta warrior’s thumb at ugly-sweater event in Philadelphia

The man, who was attending the museum’s after-hours ugly-sweater party on Dec. 21, entered the terra-cotta warrior exhibition room and used his cellphone’s flashlight to view the displays. Then, according to an affidavit by Jacob B. Archer, an FBI special agent, the man put his arm around the statue and took a selfie.

Authorities said the man, later identified as Michael Rohana, then went for a more permanent memento. He grabbed the left hand of the statue, which is valued at $4.5 million, and broke off its thumb. Taking the piece with him, he left with friends for his home in Bear, Del.

The FBI got their man! What a fucking waste. We need to do a complete reset – not the just the FBI but all the unelected bureaucrats.

High school kids calling for gun control because their school was invaded by an active shooter who killed some of them?

This really shows the traits of the me generation. No regard for the rest of us that want guns to protect ourselves and our families from the monster that invaded their school. This is really the height of stupidity.

I hope the country doesn’t listen to them. These young people are on the road to hell and they are too stupid to know it.

Stucky

Not to worry.

I think there were only a few dozen, or less. Non issue. Ineffective. Makes for a nice photo op, though, for the anti gun media. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were paid actors.

Also, high school kids are all fucken morons. Their brains aren’t even fully developed … from a reasoning perspective. That is factual. They are ruled mostly by feewings and emotion. No one makes policy by listening to high school kids. Cuz dey be idiots.

Problem is, however, that the Average Sheeple with their Average IQ and nary a whit of Common Sense will see this plastered all over the MSM and Social Media and believe that they now have a grasp on the Pulse of the Nation. Especially out here on the West Coast, where I’m surrounded by Pseudo-Intellectual Liberal Fascists…..
Sure am glad that I’m out to Sea for this one. Not too sure I wouldn’t have to Do Something to Someone were I currently in Seattle, as my wife has been telling me what some of our neighbors have been saying about the incident, fuckin’ morons that they are…..

I remember the days when illegal Mexicans border crossers coming here to work in their off season, back in the days when they were usually called “wet backs” by most people, were being dismissed as not really a problem because there were only a few of them and most of them went home when the harvests they came for were over.

Plant a tiny mustard seed and what do you eventually end up with?

The problem with second amendment defenders is that they are left trying to prove a negative: that the presence of a gun prevented a crime from happening in the first case.

We do occasionally hear of the responsible citizen taking down the bad guy, but only in the most public of situations, and then only briefly. The News wants a tragedy, not a victory.

And those guns that stop home invasions? You never hear of them. The person might file a police report, but even if they do, they are just reporting that they prevented a crime from happening. That never shows up in the statistics.

For this reason, you cannot argue from the standpoint of logic. They are arguing from emotion, and if you want to successfully meet them word for word you must use your own emotion. Let the Jordan Petersons, Ben Shapiros, and Sam Harriss of the world speak from the point of logic. They provide the solid background that gives the pro-gun movement credence.

But if you want to actually “red pill” people? Start with a small bit of logic “a 95 pound woman can’t beat a man in a fight; a gun is the ultimate equalizer” and then go at them hammer and tongs.

“You are against guns? I thought you are a feminist? Obviously not because you hate women and think they shouldn’t have a right to defend themselves? What kind of a feminist is against women’s rights?”

You get the picture. Such an dialogue will unfortunately be a bit overdramatic and most certainly personal, it only works if you tailor it to your opponent.

It also doesn’t work well in a digital forum. Trolling, Wiki-researching, time-delays, brigading, incompetent moderators….all of this will work against you, and make it possible to work forward.

It works damn well in person though.
