Guess where Admin and Avalon will be tonight? The Shamrock, of course. Posts may be a little late tomorrow.

It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Every year, more than 13 million pints of Guinness are consumed across the world to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Ireland’s national holiday has become a global celebration with Americans in particular fond of celebrating their inner Irishness. That comes as little surprise given that some 39.6 million people in the U.S. claim Irish heritage, nearly seven times the entire population of Ireland. The most recent census data shows that Boston, Middlesex County and Peabody in Massachusetts are the most Irish American towns in the country. Many other places will don the green this weekend and splash the cash.
The National Retail Federation has forecast that 60 percent of Americans will celebrate this weekend with planned spending expected to reach a record $5.9 billion. On average, that means every person will spend $39.65. Chicago always has an exciting St. Patrick’s Day celebration where the river turns green. 400,000 people are expected to turn out for the long term tradition tomorrow and 60 pounds of dye will be required to turn the river green between Columbus and Wacker drives. Of course, many people will be hoping for a sublime pint of Guinness this weekend and according to the makers themselves, it takes 119.5 seconds to pour the perfect pint. Many others will enjoy a nice glass of Irish whiskey, something that has become increasingly common in the states. Back in 1996, 280,000 cases of Irish whiskey were consumed and that had risen steadily to 3.65 million by 2016.
I stopped at the local Irish pub after work yesterday and had a quick bite- 2 corned beef sliders and chips. I only had time to eat one so I brought the other home with some chips for the SO. He was actually able to eat it which surprised us both, the one thing he’s been having the most problem eating is bread.
Two minutes to pour a pint of beer?
Yes, if you are doing it right, and drawing a Guinness.
I’m part Irish on my mom’s side if Scots Irish counts. They’re fucking protestants, right?
I once heard that a Scotsman is an Irishman that couldn’t swim.
Hey, what’s the difference between MLK day and St. Patrick’s Day?
Everyone wants to be Irish for a day.
Began the day with two Irish Coffees, made the way the first ones were made in the US at the Buena Vista Cafe in S.F. None of that creme de menthe or any other crap. Just coffee, Irish wiskey, sugar, and hand-made whipped cream. No better way to start the day.
Mom did one of those DNA tests 99.6 % Irish. Some Swedish blood from centuries ago. Damn Vikings.
