The Unspooling

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

With spring, things come unstuck; an unspooling has begun. The turnaround at the FBI and Department of Justice has been so swift that even The New York Times has shut up about collusion with Russia — at the same time omitting to report what appears to have been a wholly politicized FBI upper echelon intruding on the 2016 election campaign, and then laboring stealthily to un-do the election result.

The ominous silence enveloping the DOJ the week after Andrew McCabe’s firing — and before the release of the FBI Inspector General’s report — suggests to me that a grand jury is about to convene and indictments are in process, not necessarily from Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s office. The evidence already publicly-aired about FBI machinations and interventions on behalf of Hillary Clinton and against Donald Trump looks bad from any angle, and the wonder was that it took so long for anyone at the agency to answer for it.

McCabe is gone from office and, apparently hung out to dry on the recommendation of his own colleagues. Do not think for a moment that he will just ride off into the sunset. Meanwhile, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, have been sent to the FBI study hall pending some other shoes dropping in a grand jury room. James Comey is out hustling a book he slapped together to manage the optics of his own legal predicament (evidently, lying to a congressional committee). And way out in orbit beyond the gravitation of the FBI, lurk those two other scoundrels, John Brennan, former head of the CIA (now a CNN blabbermouth), and James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence, a new and redundant post in the Deep State’s intel matrix (and ditto a CNN blabbermouth). Brennan especially has been provoked to issue blunt Twitter threats against Mr. Trump, suggesting he might be entering a legal squeeze himself.

None of these public servants have cut a plea bargain yet, as far as is publicly known, but they are all, for sure, in a lot of trouble. Culpability may not stop with them. Tendrils of evidence point to a coordinated campaign that included the Obama White House and the Democratic National Committee starring Hillary Clinton. Robert Mueller even comes into the picture both at the Uranium One end of the story and the other end concerning the activities of his old friend, Mr. Comey. Most tellingly of all, Attorney General Jeff Sessions was not shoved out of office but remains shrouded in silence and mystery as this melodrama plays out, tick, tick, tick.

None of this makes President Trump a more reassuring figure. His lack of decorum remains as awesome as his apparent lack of common sense. But he has labored against the most intense campaign of coordinated calumny ever seen against a chief executive and his fortitude, at least, is impressive. What is unspooling for him, and the body politic, are the nation’s finances, and the dog of an economy that gets wagged by finance. Yesterday’s 724-point dump in the Dow Jones Industrial Average is liable to not be a fluke event, but the beginning of a cascade into the pitiless maw of reality — the reality that just about everything is grossly mispriced.

There is plenty of dysfunction in plain sight to suggest that the financial markets can’t bear the strain of unreality anymore. Between the burgeoning trade wars and the adoption in congress this week of a fiscally suicidal spending bill, you’d want to put your fingers in your ears to not be deafened by the roar of markets tumbling. A 40 to 75 percent drop in the equity markets will leave a lot of one-percent big fish gasping on the beach as the tide rolls out. But the minnows and anchovies will suffer too, as regular economic activity declines in response to tumbling markets. And then the Federal Reserve will ride to the rescue with QE-4, which will very sharply drive the dollar toward worthlessness. The result: a nation with a sucking chest wound, whirling around the drain en route to political pandemonium.

A commie, a yellow-bellied traitor, and an Islam apologist walk into a bar.

What’ll you have Mr. Brennan?

” …….. suggests to me that a grand jury is about to convene and indictments are in process, not necessarily from Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s office. ”

I’d like to believe that, but I won’t until I see it happen.

Too many times what I wanted to believe has turned out disappointing me for me to be anything but a skeptic about everything anymore.

I just read some grudging respect for Trump from Kunstler. I also noted the “tick, tick, tick.” has quite a similarity to something from a Qanon post.

Things are interesting and getting even more interesting.

It’s like the more people dislike, the more the other side likes. Now that the like side is sliding towards dislike, the dislike side takes a step back and says “well, now that you know, he’s not that bad, actually”.

Deep State is at work here.

Blame (or praise) the internet. These things were a lot easier to sweep under the rug when idiots weren’t emailing or tweeting whatever drifted through the fervid swamp of their brain pans at the moment. Imagine answering questions for prosecutors or a congressional committee and worrying that you will be asked about some email or tweet you sent 2 years ago that you had forgotten about. It’s much harder to cut secret deals when all the evidence is out in the public domain and anything can be be dissected and cross-checked by a million people. I bet those “jokes” Strozk tweeted to his lovah don’t seem so funny to him now.

Trump is a much better player at this game than the clowns in the 10 square mile A/O known as DC…..he is especially good at “deception planning and execution”. If you’re not familiar with phrase this google Sun Tzu “The Art of War” and see what he says……

The problem will be that any comprehensive prosecution of the criminals in the Obama Administration, Clinton campaign, Congress and the news media ( publishing classified info leaked to them by the intelligence agencies) would be so widespread and extensive as to render the Democrat Party a criminal organization under RICO statutes but that may be the only route available without convening ‘show trials’ with hundreds of defendants.

What do we do with the Senator Warners, McCains, Schiffs and dozens of other Federal elected officials who committed crimes? What about Jake Tapper and the rest of the Jewish media mafia? Put them all in prison?

Unit- ” Democrat Party a criminal organization under RICO statutes “, I would like to add the entire Imran debacle waiting to drop, will either be organized into an “out” or be the nail in the coffin, in the elaborate web you alluded.
As we can all see, the criminality is wanton, if nothing is done, the masses of perpetrators will be emboldened recklessly and multiply exponentially.
It’s nice to see you back Jim, with a more balanced analysis.
I am not sure about your assessment of QE4, that was the last war, be on the lookout for something darker.

If the reports of 15,000 (and rising) sealed indictments are to be believed, what you describe would essentially be the case in light of the EO issued last year on human trafficking. It’s not totally impossible that we could see the entire deep-state – even at the local level like the obviously corrupt Broward County with Scott Israel’s antics – being frog-marched out of their offices at gun-point by the military. (The above is a thumbnail of the Q-anon theory of reality).

Countering this are what we see in terms of actual actions so far:

*McCabe is fired – not indicted or arrested
*Comey – ditto
*Ongoing support of/involvement in wars in
a) Syria
b) Ukraine
c) various shitholes in Africa
*Massive spending bill passed, which includes
a) Funding for Obamacare (including abortion via PP)
b) Gun control
c) Funding for sanctuary cities who openly defy law
d) Increased power of surveillance by Deep-State
e) No border wall, no new hiring for border enforcement

The above list (and Trump has previously signed such massive spending bills of thousands of pages which have been read by nobody) would add weight to the counter-argument that the whole Q-anon theory of reality is a massive psy-op on its own. Perhaps Ann Barnhardt is correct about Trump – he’s pure kayfabe: a buffoon sitting in a white house office twittering away while the criminals in charge of the Banana Empire loot away in advance of the big market kaboom when the dollar is no longer the world-reserve currency.

Cut off their nuts first, then tie them in duct tape head first to each other with their nose pushed into their other mentioned friends butthole. Leave them for a week without food, and see who likes to eat shit like we have been forced to do for years.

It appears that the DOJ prosecutor that AG Sessions has said he has assigned to work with IG Horowitz on the Clinton email and FISA abuse issues has empaneled a Grand Jury

If gold can hold above about $1340 to close next week (end of quarter) then this could be the breakout that many of us have been waiting for and the start of the next gold bull market. Potential very big week next week with the petro-yuan futures market also going live. Tectonic moves afoot in the battle to be the world’s superpower.
