Ron Paul: Republicans, Democrats Teaming Up for Federal Gun Confiscation Bill

In an email Tuesday night, former Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul released an ominous statement claiming that a source they have in the Senate revealed Democrats are teaming up with Republicans to push through a massive gun control bill.

According to their source, as Paul explained, “Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are teaming up with Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to ram through one of the worst nationwide gun confiscation schemes ever devised.”

The gun confiscation bill, according to Paul, is designed to disarm Americans without any due process. The senators are using the recent tragic shooting in Texas as the impetus behind the law—in spite of the fact that this law would not have prevented the shooting at all.

As the Free Thought Project has previously reported, some states have already begun implementing laws like this one. Using mass shootings as a their ammunition, states have enacted “Red Flag” or “Risk Protection” laws which allow police to confiscate a person’s weapon before they are ever given a chance to defend themselves.

In both of the gun confiscation cases reported by TFTP, neither of the two men were suspected of committing a crime, nor had they committed a crime.

Under the fifth and fourteenth amendments, due process clauses are in place to act as a safeguard from arbitrary denial of life, liberty, or property by the government outside the sanction of law. What’s more, neither of the men were granted their sixth amendment rights to be confronted with the witnesses against them. In both cases, simple orders—under new laws—were issued, arguably arbitrarily, which stripped these two men of their property.

In spite of what officials and the media claim, when a person is stripped of their constitutional rights, albeit temporarily, without being given the chance to make their own case based on what can be entirely arbitrary accusations, this is the removal of due process.

As Ron Paul explains, this removal of due process could soon be a federal law.

Under so-called “Red Flag” or “Risk Protection” Orders, anti-gun family members, neighbors, or associates could have your guns taken away based on mere accusations without any real due process or trial.

In secret court proceedings, where only your accuser is present, judges could determine that you pose a “significant danger” to someone, including yourself.

Imagine your surprise when a heavily armed SWAT Team arrives to seize your lawfully owned firearms.

It would then cost you tens of thousands of dollars in court costs and weeks or even months to try and convince the court they made a mistake.

To be clear, no one here is advocating for people determined to be mentally unfit to be able to possess firearms. However, they need to be determined to be mentally unfit before they lose their rights.

To those who may be in favor of such laws, consider the following: There is no way to stop an estranged spouse from calling police repeatedly and telling them their ex is threatening to cause harm to others. While the man in Florida had his guns taken for being psychologically unfit, the man in Seattle simply open-carried a pistol and looked out of windows and his guns were taken because his neighbors thought it was strange.

Anyone, any time, now has the ability to claim someone else is a threat and have police take their guns. One does not need to delve into the multiple ‘what if’ scenarios to see what sort of ominous implications arise from such a practice. What’s more, police in some states now have the power to deem you a threat at any time and legally disarm you—due process be damned.

This is the exact scenario that Donald Trump advocated for in February.

As Ron Paul explains, this is entirely unconstitutional.

The words of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution are so easy to grasp:

“. . . the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

There were no asterisks and no footnotes. There are no sentences that follow which start with the words “unless” or “however.” The right to defend your life and property shall not be infringed by the government.

Period.

Paul’s Campaign for Liberty has set up the Defend the Second Amendment Directive where citizens can sign a petition to demand their Senator not pass this blow to freedom and self-defense. You can sign it here.

Please share this article to let your friends and family that saying, “they are coming for our guns,” is not a conspiracy theory.

Yo. There comes a time when one must simply ignore their stupid laws

Explain to me, as if to a child, how you are going to ignore their stupid laws when they are kicking in your door at 2a.m.

There’s a quote from Solzhenitsyn that covers that territory.
““And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”
― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

I don’t want to sound like some paranoid alarmist but looking down the road we can see where the 2A is headed (along with any other vestige of freedom). Our lovely govt is working hard to get rid of cash and move to a digital currency like FedCoin (I’m convinced BitCoin is a trial ballon-after all it was created by the NSA in 1996 along with all the other mysteries surrounding it). When money goes digital we’re all fucked. Nothing but nothing will be outside the purview of the govt.
So, if there are any little “treats” you’d like the govt to not know about, you should be serious about getting those items in place soon. Guns and ammo come to mind. They can be stored almost indefinitely and ammo will always be as good as gold.
The psychosis in this country is on the boil and smart frogs can feel the heat.

People think we live under the protection of the constitution. We don’t. The law of the land is Administrative Law. There is no due process in this law. The courts of the land are administrative courts. These courts do not recognize the constitution.

We have no second amendment rights. Most people think we do because they have not stopped to realize administrative law does not give these rights to people. In fact administrative law does not give any rights to people.

Our forefathers had to fight for their rights while later generations let them slide away and accepted administrative law in their place. Evidently even Ron Paul still thinks we have protections under the Bill of Rights of the constitution. We don’t.

We only have a shell of our former government institutions. Mostly psychopaths run our government. Psychopaths are service to self not service to others.

When the Magna Carta was proclaimed the king was under direct threat of death by the people to make it happen. It will be the same way with these psychopaths when the people finally wake up from their sleep about how administrative law is being used against us to strip us of our previous freedoms.

Freedom is not free. It has to constantly be guarded.

Well said, Thunderbird!
The Uniformed Commercial Code UCC, maritime/admiralty law runs this land…common law, not so much.
It has been umbrellaed over the Constitution over generations….
The trick has been to continue public perception along the lines that WE the People run our gov’t.

However, this is not to say that we don’t still possess our God given NATURAL RIGHTS that each of us are born with. The Constitution was a contract between the People and those running the branches reminding those in power of our inalienable RIGHTS!
Unfortunately the deception is so grand with unsuspecting individuals signing birth certificates and creating a fictitious business name with the gov’t aka your STRAWMAN, to interact with this global system!
The more you learn the scarier it tends to be.

It’s so easy to be angry with the average American who went to PUBLIC schools where they were indoctrinated into a certain way of viewing history…it is amazing the level of delusions people have lived their whole lives because they have trusted the established institutions and wouldn’t dare believe something this grand has been pulled over their eyes

The elections are coming up, vote for the side you consider most likely to oppose movements toward this sort of thing.

Or, if that’s too hard, just don’t vote and let someone else make the decision.

Ron Paul is a moral and ethical man who has taken his libertarian principles to silly extremes. Not in this case. Never trust the government they want to make you helpless before their power. Lady Graham is not our friend.

I know that many fall back on “what will you do when they come etc. etc?”
If you observe this stuff, and unfortunately I got a real good look recently, there are not enough of them vs. us. In fact, the authorities would be dependent on us to assist them if things really got out of control. They would need to call for posses and other stuff normally thought of as part of the old west.
If there is an incident with a nut shooting up a place, virtually every cop in a town races over. Closely followed by the Sheriff and state police. Then what happens if another nut shows up on the other side of town? Then one five miles away in the next town? Then another one ten miles the other direction? Four nuts in one county or township just tied up every cop in twenty-five miles every direction.
The police need us much more than we need them. In the gravest extreme, a few individuals can render them all ineffective. While we could do this, so can assholes like Antifa or ISIS. It would appear that regardless of our “civilization” we are wise to be prepared to fight at the drop of a hat, with or against a whole cast of characters.

Obviously the plan is to pick us off one at a time rather than an attempt at mass confiscation. It’s a lot harder to resist when they have you singled out. What will you do when the SWAT team arrives at your neighbor’s house. Watch, not knowing what’s going on, and then thank God it wasn’t you? That was how the Gestapo took out any kind of dissent from the Warsaw ghetto. One at a time, while the neighbors watched in fear. The cocksuckers ain’t stupid. They know exactly how they are going to implement their plan. They’ve been doing it for centuries. One man or one family doesn’t stand a chance against overwhelming police presence, unless they are suicidal. They’ve got us all so divided already, it’ll be easy. People will be turning each other in, and gloating when their neighbors get rolled up.

They waited for the confrontation at the Bundy ranch to settle down and the patriots to go home and then they went and rounded them all up one at a time. All they needed was the ID. This will not be simple to resist.

“They waited for the confrontation at the Bundy ranch to settle down and the patriots to go home and then they went and rounded them all up one at a time. All they needed was the ID. This will not be simple to resist.”
You know, that sounds a lot like an ambush – pick a victim, wait for complacency, attack suddenly.
But those kinds of tactics can be adopted by _anyone_ ; and there’s a lot more of us than of them. What if half the population was setting up ambushes for those who attacked them without justification (and I would consider this “law” not justification at all, it’s unConstitutional on the face of it). How long would they attack without popular support (or at least tolerance)?
It can be done. If it needs to be done it will.

Man I hope you are right. I just see these bastards with programs like civil asset forfeiture that they put into place to keep cops on the job when they’re unable to pay them with anything but worthless scrip. The cops will be paying themselves with whatever they can steal or extort. They could form posses with the same loot. You and I might see it as contemptible behavior, but I wonder how many folks wouldn’t join with them if you dangle another man’s property in his face as a reward for taking part.
