The inevitable result of allowing the government to hold the monopoly on “education.” Neither the democrats NOR the republicans seem to have a problem with the government stealing hundreds of billions each year to subsidize the schooling of their children or the children of others. They argue over who should be in control of these billions, and who should be in control of the curricula, or they object to specific curricula, but they NEVER object to the fundamentally Socialist and Totalitarian nature of the government monopoly school system, its mandatory attendance laws, its mandatory vaccination requirements, its indoctrination of children, or anything else at the foundational level of the system.
They steal the money before one can spend it anywhere else. Agree that it is not a true monopoly, but they still wield total control over who can operate a school, in some states, whether or not homeschooling is allowed, and so much more. It might as well be a monopoly.
