Putin denied interfering in the 2016 election, despite the U.S. intelligence community determining that Russia was responsible for hacking into computers owned by the Democratic Party during the campaign.
When Trump was asked whether he believes the U.S. intelligence community’s findings or Putin’s denial, Trump appeared to side with the Russian president.
“I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today,” Trump told reporters.

The American Constitutional definition of Treason does not apply to say, a British subject betraying Britain, do you think that isn’t treason because they don’t have a Constitution? There is clearly a normal usage definition of treason in English that differs from the legal American one.
