Only an idiot with it’s head under a rock would trust anyone they don’t personally have close ties with. All others must be interacted with without putting yourself on any kind of ledge.
My conservative, Trump-voting, Texas relatives are visiting this summer. That means political talk is off-limits at our house to insure my deep blue liberal wife and my in-laws don’t get out the knives and try to kill each other.
Interestingly, the only political subject I can find that both these sides agree on is Russia. They both think Russia is the miserable 3rd world country and Putin is an evil dictator. These are educated people who normally can think for themselves. Yet the media has convinced them both that Russia is the enemy of America.
Maybe the next time Antifa and the Proud Boys face off, the Police should get their loud speakers and say:
“You think you hate each other, but how about that Putin guy. He is the one you should be protesting against.” I can then envision both sides locking arms and yelling: Down with evil Russia. Down with Putin.
Strangely, I don’t know anyone who is that ignorant…but it probably depends on intelligence and the amount of CNN and MSNBC that is consumed…
