Because a Citizen Filmed It, Cop Found Guilty for Punting Handcuffed Teen’s Head Like a Football

Via The Free Thought Project

Franklin Township, OH — As TFTP reported in May, a vigilant citizen with a cellphone captured video of the ridiculously excessive force by police on 18-year-old kid who ran from them. In spite of teen being handcuffed, face-down on the ground, with another officer on top of him, a Franklin Township police officer is seen punting his face like a football. This week, in a rare move, the officer was actually found guilty for his crimes.

Former Franklin Township Police Officer Robert Wells, 49, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law, according to Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien.

“While we support police officers, whenever an office uses excessive unreasonable force such as this there is just no justification for that,” said O’Brien. “Everyone has the right to be free from the use of excessive force by law-enforcement officers.”

The suspect—turned victim—Anthony Foster Junior, allegedly made the terrible and dangerous decision to run from police. According to police, Foster rammed a police car, drove 90 miles per hour through residential neighborhoods, and tried to make police officers crash.

He was accused of breaking several laws and deserved to be given due process. However, thanks to an officer who couldn’t control himself, the taxpayers will now be held accountable.

According to police, the pursuit began after police pulled over Foster for having no registration on his vehicle. Instead of stopping, however, Foster allegedly led police on a high speed chase. The incident report says Foster “drove through several yards, jumping a driveway and attempted to make it back on the street where the suspect’s vehicle struck and officers vehicle.”

Once the chase came to an end, that’s when police pulled him out of the vehicle without incident and had him in handcuffs.

As the video shows, Foster was on the ground, in handcuffs, when the Wells runs up to him and kicks him right in the face.

After the incident, Wells then lied on his report in regard to the arrest in order to cover up the use of excessive force.

As we reported in May, Foster has already retained an attorney, Joe Landusky, who will likely sue and win.

“When I look at the video when I see a kid lying in the street motionless and another individual coming around wearing a police uniform nonchalantly kicking in the head like a football it’s not something that’s nice to watch. I don’t know what happened leading up to this, he’s charged with certain things I don’t know whether he was involved with those things are not and he’s presumed innocent,” Landusky said, according to 10TV.

Foster’s mother, Nicki Sammons, who spoke with NBC4i at the time of the incident did not hold back as she lambasted the cops responsible for her son’s injuries.

“I think both of those cops, their badges should be taken, They shouldn’t be able to work or go to another law enforcement place or work for another county, none of that. Because if you get by with it clearly you’re going to do it again,” she said.

She will now get her wish.

“Everybody always wonders why all of these kids hate cops,” said Sammons. “When you see stuff like this, that is why. They make it worse.”

As NBC4i reports, Wells will be sentenced after a pre-sentence investigation. Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law is a federal crime that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison when it results in bodily injury.

“In this case we are seeking a prison sentence,” said O’Brien.

I would say that when cops do this, it gives ever more reason some people will decide to run for it. Distrust in law enforcement is baaaaaaad. Leads to bad things, man.

Well at least he didn’t shoot him and claim he “motioned for a weapon.”

In Tampa area police news we had another cop go berserk and kill his wife, his daughter and his six year old granddaughter yesterday. Fortunately, he then killed himself. The 2nd deranged murder suicide by a Hillsborough Deputy Sheriff in a month. Across the bay in St. Pete a local cop was arrested for sexually assaulting a 17 year old girl today.

I think the penalty for felony eluding or resisting arrest should be raised. If people realized they would do serious prison time for resisting or forcing cops to give chase the police might be a little less inclined to administer some ‘rough justice’ during the actual arrest. Still, the bullies and psychos that seem to gravitate to police work (where else can a high school graduate make $75,000 with no real skills other than be big and mean) must be weeded out. Preferably before they cost the taxpayers huge settlements.

I think anyone who runs from police is smart these days, hang around and even obey commands gets you killed at times.

Soon, this nonsense keeps up folks will on a larger scale fight back with violence, sure, could cost you your life/savings/freedom but seems the direction we are heading as society breaks down.Fighting back and perhaps nullifying out of control cop expensive, you win the rest are free.

Going 90mph on residential streets to flee a traffic stop because your registration is expired is not just dangerous it is stupid. Police don’t know why you are so desperate to get away but the thought occurs to them it is because you did something a lot more serious than just fail to register or insure your car. You can’t talk your way out of having no registration or a warrant but you can avoid a beating or worse if you are calm and cooperate even if the cop is a bully and aggressive

I haven’t been stopped by police in years because A. I’m in my sixties and not a police target. B. Drive a decent car and C. Avoid driving late at night. Still I admit if you are young and driving late at night you are more at risk of being ‘robbed’ by the police than by criminals. The cop to motorist ratio soars at night and every traffic stop in the dark makes cops nervous unless it is a pretty blonde driver whom they can harass and humiliate with a roadside sobriety test. A local highway patrol officer became notorious for this and was finally fired.

Unit, agree in this case the kid was a freaking danger to others, and then, ramming cars just freaking stupid! That said, once cuffed just haul the little idiot in and since sndagering others perhaps a little jail time ect.

most laws though are not about hurting/endangering others, and yet, folks get killed because of these dumb laws, this whole fiasco will not end well unless everyone(cops and citizens)smarten the fuck up a bit.

People dont know why they are being pulled over in many cases. There is a lot of evidence you didnt need a drivers license when you have a right to drive. This is further evidenced by reading your state kaws and license. It now specifically states to “operate a moter vehicle”. Again they wordsmithed their way into power and breaching the constitution. Yes you have a right to travel, and no you are not driving but they found a loophole in the law or passed a law regarding the safe operation of a vehicle. Therefore its a priviledge not a right now. So they makes mikkions of laws to fine you because calling it a tax there would be a revolt. People see this are are sick being robbed because that is what fees and taxes are. Frivolous at a minimum.

Seems those in power are mostly corrupt. Just look at the catholic priest and most politicians. Seems humans are corrupt when given power, everywhere we turn this seems to be true. No wonder these young kids today believe in socialism. They think everyone will be equal. They just dont realize some animals, er humans, will be more equal……

Who is going to do this job? Police are humans, they react emotionally when confronted with lawless, violent, and frankly careless people who can, have, and will hurt people to get their way and avoid the consequences! I know police officers that are annoyed and become jaded by the lack of civility on the part of individuals stopped not even arrested. Their job is to keep society safe from people who break the laws that are on the books.

Ooooor we could look at this differently. Perhaps this should be a training video for how to deal with someone who runs.
NO TOLERANCE!!! You run this is what happens. 99% of the time the people running have done something they shouldn’t have. Don’t do the crime if you can’t deal with the consequences. Steal a loaf of bread lose a hand, run from the cops you get the shit beat of you when they catch you. We don’t have laws not to enforce them. It’s the same reason Trump is pulling the troops. Our country’s ridiculous human rights policies make it too difficult for our troops to do their job. The Russians don’t have that burden. Putin is going to wipe out Isis and all the other fanatical resisters because he isn’t handicapped by sympathetic liberals who believe all people are created equal and with rights to be treated fairly no matter how much harm they inflict on others. He’s going to do in the Middle East what Stalin did to the Germans.

Whatever happens in the process of apprehending a dangerous felon is on the felon. Anything that happens after the subject has been detained should be subject to normal human rights standards. If this person was already cuffed and detained, any further violence is simply not needed.

It’s needed because obviously the way things are currently being done isn’t working. Our liberal politicans who are always running for reelection aren’t interested in solving the problem because the solution isn’t nice or friendly or compassionate. The only way to deter criminals is to make the consequences terrifying. I’m not a fan of the Saudi Arabians or North Koreans but there’s a reason they have very little crime and the reason is because it’s simply isn’t tolerated. Singapore also has a very specific way of dealing with criminals and they are considered a model society.

Funny how these sympathetic libtards want to handicap our miltiary during battle with crazy rules of engagement. They want all these low iq low skilled poor from third world nations to come here and receive welfare and be taken care of even though they wave their nations flag and refuse to assimilate and reach or strive for the American Dream by working or learning english. Hey, but if you are white, a patriot, or christian, or anlaw abiding citizen, or a gun owner, or straight, or have a good job and save money they want to kill you in sadistic ways.

I am in favor of corporal punishment for criminals. I am also not in favor of police administering street justice. Pass the laws and then cane them legally
