A License to Kill – an Obligation to Submit

Guest Post by Eric Peters

Imagine being empowered by the state to threaten people with murderous violence over hurt feelings.

Or for pretty much any reason at all. Without having to worry much – if at all – about ever being held criminally responsible for such abuse.

To say that such a policy is dangerous is like saying there’s a slight problem in the Titanic’s hold, after it hit the iceberg.

It is catastrophic – as great a threat to our liberties as the gushing-in seawater was to the souls aboard the doomed liner.

In this video, a man who flipped The Bird to an armed government worker finds himself in mortal peril because he hurt the AGW’s feelings. Not because any law was broken – much less any harm done to persons or property, the only moral justification for interfering with anyone’s liberty.

Nonetheless, the affronted AGW uses his government-issued car and his government-issued gun and the government-sanctioned threat of murderous violence to coerce compliance to “pull over” – a soft-sounding euphemism (like the “shared responsibility payment” under Obamacare) for something as hard as it gets: A government thug waylaying a peaceful human being, using all the just-enumerated threats, overt and implied, that he will be killed (ultimately) if he does not obey.

Some reading this will be taken aback at the language above – will consider the foregoing a hyperbolic statement. But it is a statement of fact. Had the man – who did nothing illegal – declined to obey the illegal orders of the AGW and attempted merely to leave and go about his business – asserted his right to liberty – he would certainly have found himself the object of murderous violence.

Murderous violence is implicit (and often, explicit) in every interaction one of us has with one of them.

We are quite literally at their mercy. Physically as well as legally. We are required to submit and obey. And if we do not – even when it is clear we’ve broken no law and that personal law is being enforced upon us –  then they are legally empowered to resort use murderous violence and we are legally debarred from defending ourselves against it.

Thus, a power-tripping Praetorian in a government-issued costume, with a government-issued car and a government-issued pistol can – at his whim – “pull us over” or interrupt our travels when on foot – and we’re obliged to bend knee.

If we decline to “pull over” or continue waking . we invite a roadside or curbside execution. This is no exaggeration. It has happened, continues to happen – and will continue to happen, until enough of us have finally had enough.

This AGW was annoyed by The Bird – even though there is no statute prohibiting the giving of it, whether to an AGW or anyone else. It may not be nice to so gesture, but nice (or not) isn’t the issue.

Legality is. Also morality.

Well, they used to be.

At one time, within the orbit of living memory – it was both implicit and explicit that cops (this was before they morphed into AGWs) had to have a legally valid reason before they could use force, whether overt or implied, to defrock and citizens of his liberty. Cops were restrained by this generally accepted expectation – and citizens emboldened to assert their liberty – you haven’t got anything on me was the language used.

Not anymore. We live in fear because AGWs are a law unto themselves now. Deference and submission are expected, demanded – and enforced.

Non-consensual, illegal waylayings of the sort depicted above are now the routine drill for affronting the Authority of AGWs.And it routine because there are no consequences when an AGW is caught en flagrante abusing a citizen.

Abuse defined as enforcing personal law, as in the video aabove. Or, this one:

(News story here.)

It’s easy enough to understand, if you imagine someone not an AGW chasing down a person who flipped The Bird (or did some other thing they happened not to like) and used the implicit/explicit threat of murderous violence embodied in a visibly carried (whether holstered or not) firearm to waylay them and subject them to a harangue and a short-term kidnapping that lasted just as long as they felt like it, based on the duress they could impose because of the fact of the gun and the implied threat it might be used.

If a non-AGW id exactly what this AGW did, the non-AGW would be prosecuted (rightly) for multiple felonies – and the man would have had the right to attempt to escape and (if the psychopath pursued him) to defend himself.

But AGWs are different, special.

One hopes that in time they will no longer be so regarded – or so treated.

That idiot thinks he has a RIGHT to flip off cops? Boy, does he have a lesson coming for him someday from someone. Hey dude, you’re old enough to get a girlfriend. Try it, it’s a lot more fun of a way to spend your time. It’s only a right if you can back it up. If I had been that dude (forget that he’s a cop for a second) I would have bitch slapped him just for the fuck of it, just to see the him cry. Going around disrespecting other men, flipping them off and cursing at them like that, you got an ass beating coming. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. Something’s wrong with Peter’s when he looks up to worms like that. That has nothing to do with the Constitution. That’s just a mama’s boy who hadn’t got his ass beat yet.

I’m no fan of cops. They do a lot of despicable shit, but I’m with you on this one Star. This punk is not just looking for trouble, but begging for it. He doesn’t seem to have the slightest basic understanding of the harm these predators that he’s provoking can bring down on him. You do not want for these guys to have your number.

And yeah, to your point, if you go around flipping people off even if they aren’t cops, sooner or later someone will hand you your ass. It might be legal, but it’s a complete lack of decent manners and common sense. He keeps it up and his life will become extremely unpleasant.

The guy deserved to get his disrespectful ass kicked which would be a crime. The police should be held to a higher standard than the rest of us. Just because the guy was a dick doe not give the cops a right to be a criminal.

I agree with you Overthecliff, on points one and two. On three, though, where do you think rights come from? You say the cop doesn’t have a right. The idea of rights has been subverted so far, people don’t realize ultimately it comes down to can you defend that right. That little cocksucker couldn’t defend anything. Therefore he was putting himself in grave danger. Again, forget that that guy was a cop. He seemed like a normal decent guy going, dude what the hell’s the matter with you? He did hold himself to a higher standard. Not everyone will. And when somebody does beat his ass, what’s nancy boy going to do? Call the cops?

I worked with a guy I became friends with who had a bad scar on his face under one eye and a funny half smile.

I asked him one day where he got the scar from?

He said he was in collage riding on the interstate in the passenger front seat with a friend and a car passing almost side swiped them. His friend got pissed off and sped up passing the guy on the right and gave him the finger as they went flying past.

A couple of miles later the same guy sped past them in the fast lane and fired one shot out the passage front window at his buddy driving, but he missed him and hit my friend in the face.

Shooting the bird can lead to somebody getting shot.

I keep a big red foam clown nose in my beat up ole pick up and one in my beat up ole Honda.

Whenever I screw up driving and the person I have wronged can see me after the incident…I put it on my nose and give the shrug sign with my hands raised palms up to apologize. It has gotten some good laughs and defused a couple of angry honkers.

If a car with little kids pulls alongside at lights and are staring out the widow I’ll slip it on and wave, that always gets some giggles.

I also keep a Mossberg Shockwave 20 gauge in each vehicle in case the clown noses don’t work.

Homey don’t play if there is serious threats.

Best comment of this thread, Iska. Presents the choices, in the most simplistic, base question of the debate.
The guy shouldn’t temp fate. The cop should’ve just let it go.

Why embrace a potential trigger for getting hassled, just for not liking cops?

Same theory, for reactions to other drivers who make stupid moves.

That macho bravado just might land the birdman some cuffs, a beatdown, or as an unnecessary victim of aggressive Leos with short fuses. They exist. Why taunt them?

As for road rage, best to just disengage, de-escalate it.
Drive away.
Marks tactic: brilliant.
His other case example is familiar, too, to most of us.
Scary stuff.

I’m of the similar opinion as Stuck on this one.
Cooperate, while still standing your legal ground.
Not the same as weak submittal.
Best to minimize interaction with potential ugly, as much as possible.

Unsolicited rudeness will kill you even quicker.
You wouldn’t know that because you were raised by a single mom and never get off mom’s couch except when she goes shopping because you can’t be trusted not to play with matches. If you had a father he raised you to be queer like him and told you you’re special.
Now think about the insult I just threw at you.
You jumped right into this debate accusing us of being Sissy’s and cowardly boot lickers when you don’t know a thing about us because we defended someone who was randomly insulted by someone like you and he retaliated. How does it feel to have a complete stranger call your mother a slut and you’re daddy a homo.

Oh no, teabags said something mean to me, I think I’ll go commit a felony because of muh manhood….said no one.

We are in what I call, third stage policing in this country. First stage was old West and can best be summed up as, “Please respect my authority.” They earned respect or they didn’t get it. Historical biographies of the period are replete with examples that boil down to, “Hey Sheriff, you did a good job today. You ever need an extra gun for a posse, you can call on me.” Law Enforcement earned respect, citizen gave it to them. Then came stage two policing which can be best summed up as, “Thank you for respecting my authority.” Think America 1950’s. The citizenry is grateful to the police and the police are grateful for the respect given to them by the citizenry. We are now in state three policing which can be best summed up by, “You DARE question my authority?”
Take a hard look at history and tell me if anything good is coming next?

How do you think we reverse it…by sucking dick? Guys that do this are pushing back. Crazy? Yes. Would I do it? No, but I have some respect for those that do exercise their rights.

In Ohio where I live flipping the bird is settled law. It is not free speech. It is ” fighting words “. It is a ” statement or action designed to provoke “. If someone in Ohio flips you off it completes the action of assault. If the flipee gets physical it would be ” mutual assault and battery “.

My loathing for copfuks is well known.

That being said, it’s just a really really dumb move to piss off a State employee, who probably has an IQ barely above retardation, is definitely emotionally unstable, and who carries a weapon which he IS authorized to use with deadly force at the slightest provocation.

Best to use the Stucky Copfuk Rules Of Engagement which basically consists of three statements; 1) “Yessir”, 2) “Nosir”, and 3) “I’m sorry about that.”.

Maybe that makes me a pussy …. a pussy that gets to live to see another day. I’m just not that into my Constitutional Rights when dealing with State Employee Psychopaths.

====== =

There’s a new show Verizon just added to my cable —- LIVE PD. It show’s actual live (supposedly) copfuks in action. I don’t know why they show it because, imho, it most often shows copfuks in a very bad light. They really ARE short-tempered egomaniac psychopaths. When they give a “lawful order” (pretty much ANY command that is not illegal) they expect you to obey it as if it came down from Jehobah himself. Again, don’t fuck around with these assholes and, if you do, be prepared for the consequences … and then don’t whine like a pussy afterwards!

I live in Seminole county Florida, and we have a great sheriff. Should I count myself lucky ? I have had a few encounters with them, and they where respectful of my person and my rights, striking a good balance between myself and the law. Oh, and my gun range is right next to theirs, and they do train all the time so even though they are untested I don’t think they will react to a schooling like the losers down in Broward .

Trying to catch up here after an Sunday overnight tuna trip, 140 miles out. Too many black fin tuna to count and 7 chubby yellowfins. And a slight fishing hangover this morning. I fell asleep at halftime during last night’s beat down. It was a great crew and Captain who are beer drinkers with a fishing addiction problem. I drank but half of a beer to celebrate the morning just before leaving Horn Mountain following a matanza bath in tuna blood. The newest offshore rig Appomattox is the only one with LED lights and blazes bright in the night. Sunday night was moonless and the stars shone bright, the mourning star Venus cast a long reflection on the glassy offshore waters.

I have been stopped by AGW’s twice while on Federal Property and packing heat, before I was 12 years old. Granted one was only a pellet gun near the General’s Quarters. I was maybe 10.

When I tried to keep a family friendly McDonalds while night manager in Redlands, home to privileged white kids, they would hang out, loiter etc as kids tend to do, I would walk around the lot at night and the smart asses would call me silly names. It was the law prohibiting the use profanity in public. I found some pleasure on calling the cops and reporting the punks, who would come by in a black and white and give ’em the evil eye. No arrests were ever made but the it kept the non compliant quiet.
