Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez push for higher taxes to fund her Green New-Deal is just the tip of the iceberg. If the people who elected her really understood what she is calling for, just maybe they would come to their senses and throw her out in 2020. Her New Deal calls for the end of milk cows, no more airplanes, we all drive electric cars, and anyone not willing to work will get guaranteed income for staying home and watching TV.
She is clueless to even understand the implications of what she is even talking about. The end of air travel will send the world back to the stone age. She will then realize that ships produce more CO2 than cars show she will ban those as well and the only ships will be by sail. When there is no wind, then perhaps they can use criminals to row the boats as did the Romans (see Ben Hur).
Interestingly, it would stop people flying to the States to go to University. That would end the Dreamer problem. It would end the possibility of nuclear war for you could not have rockets and space travel while we are at it. CO2 probably destroys the universe by firing rockets in space. But there is no oxygen in Space. That’s the answer. Eliminate the oxygen on the planet, we eliminate all humans, and they will eliminate CO2 which plant life needs and we have the perfect world like the moon.

I can definitely think of worse things than being back in the stone age. Say, tomorrow for example. Tomorrow will probably be worse than being in the stone age.
And anyway, we won’t go back to the stone age. Farthest back we’d go is late iron age. Too much steel and other industrial metals are already on the surface and refined. Finding and repurposing existing resources is kinda the whole point of hunter-gatherer technology, isn’t it?
And pretty much the stuff every post-apocalyptic movie is made of.
Without burning any fossil fuel, not likely. Most importantly, the Earth can only sustain 2 billion people without burning fossil fuel, so what are they going to do with the 5 – 6 billion corpse ? John Deer doesn’t run on batteries, nor can airliners… how will those fat cats in Congress jet home every weekend without jet fuel ?

22- In a way, I agree. I truly feel this country was much better off before we “Evolved” into such idiots lead by technology and tv. Going backwards may be a plus in the longrun. Are people smarter (NO), are people happier (LORD NO), are we more prosperous (NOT REALLY) with all this sparkly, shiney computerized electronic BS?

People focus on the destruction of the economy, but it is the MASSIVE POWER GRAB that should concern everyone. It is bad enough now how much power the federal government exerts over every second of our existence. This would essentially give them total ownership of every piece of property, every building, every vehicle, our freedom of movement, and so, so much more (not that we are that far off today). But once the principle infects the brains of Americans, they become accepting of anything and everything that comes along with it.
She just needs more time to “flesh” it all out.
For example, she also wants to get rid of nuke plants. This is a good idea. We just bring all the cows to nuke plants and convert the nuke plant to run on cow-fart methane to power all those big turbines. No nuke waste! No cow farts escape into the ozone! Plus, the cows will still be making milk and cheese … which can be fed to people unwilling to work. Hmmm …..

Just the aviation and insurance (which we won’t need with single-payer) industries employ about 20 million people (directly and indirectly). How does America survive 20 million suddenly unemployed people? Has she thought about that?? Apparently, not.
She want’s the primary transportation system to be railroads ……. government run railroads. Might that work? Do we have any examples to draw upon? Oh, yeah, we do. Amtrak! They now have annual deficits exceeding One Billion dollars. hahahaha I’m sure expanding it 100-fold will work out just fine …. a trip from New York to Washington DC will take twenty hours and cost $4,000.

This is very very funny… lets say we play along with her dream for a moment and eliminate our airlines due to the huge CO2 they produce… What does she think the other 5,000 airlines (not planes, but organizations, many state owed) will do? How will Chairman Mao’s airline, and Aeroflot (Russia’s airline) react to her demand to stop flying ?
Very very funny. In her dream, if our airlines were regulated out of business, the other 5,000 will certainly fill the void. Maybe we have to take a train to Canada or Mexico to catch a flight, but we will still fly.
One fact, AOC will not use a train to travel our country, rather that jet planes….
I view the existence and popularity of AOC as a good thing: she demonstrates with pinpoint clarity what sort of product the American education system is creating.
Why would we want to stop global warming?
The US military/DOD is one of the largest consumers of fossil fuels on the planet. Additionally, virtually none of their equipment has any emissions controls. What is her take on that?? If her plan includes bringing all the troops home and shutting down the overseas empire to keep the environment healthy, that could at least be one part of her worthless plan worth saving.
Non-political scientists who study core samples say that CO2 levels are the lowest in 285,000 years. All claims by Progs that they believe in science make one question what definition of “science” are they using? I have an uneasy feeling it involves shamans and witch doctors.
