These people contracted to work for their wages *and* pensions. They did fund their own pensions, except that generally the money which their employer was supposed to put into the pension fund was spent on ‘executive compensation,’ share buybacks, and dividends, or whatever else (underage hookers, etc.) seemed like a good idea at the time to whoever was calling the shots.

I have commented on this mammoth shortage for quite some time now . People retired or about to retire from government positions think it does not matter . They are convinced they will be paid in full generally with no clue or care where the money will come from.
We who are left to our own financial future by saving , investing and paying off all our debts know exactly where the powers that Be plan to make that shortage up for their minions , especially the arme ones .
Make no mistake they can and will take everything we think we own thru the confiscatory tax system to cover this shortage and to hell with us .
