Add in health insurance premiums. That’s a lot of cost, and most people still face huge medical deductibles to pay on their own. Plus college tuition. Squawking “socialism, socialism!” isn’t going to win elections anymore, especially if the alternative is leaving in place the corrupt healthcare and higher ed schemes that exist now.
Those income tax rates are highly misleading, to the extent of being outright lies. They are marginal rates.
The bottom 50% of earners in those states would pay zero income tax, same as in just about every developed nation, including the US.
The overall point is accurate enough, so there is no need to falsify the info. Plenty of actual taxes not being shown. Germany charges a religion tax, for instance – an extra ten percent on top of your tax bill if you beling to a religion. No shit, you can look it up. The standard of living in the EU sucks compared to the US, or Oz, for that matter.
The US is already highly socialized, which is why it is rapidly headed down the economic tubes, and the loony left want to make it even more so. Welfare accounts for around 70% of fed govt expenditure. That is a disaster.
But hey, free college! Free healthcare! Jobs for all! Money for the unwilling to work!

The house and neighborhood I grew up in was beautiful in the 60’s.
Hmmm. What happened mid-late 60’s? Oh, yeah, Johnson (appropriately named) thinks:
“I’ll have these ni99ers voting Democrat for next 50 years” and Civil Rights legislation paved the way for the free shit army to go marching in, to all the fringe neighborhoods with fine homes, formerly kept clean and safe by the whites who occupied them. The ones who had pride of ownership. They cared.
So, as minorities moved in, crime started to rise, and upkeep started to fall.
As more whites became victims and didn’t want to associate or be at risk anymore, for their kids, they moved out. With that, came the influx of more ‘minorities’.
Neighborhood looks like it got shelled. There’s shit everywhere. Boarded up houses used by meth heads and crack addicts. Strikingly odd, how single mothers bearing multiple children with no father present also stated to spike higher about that time. And yeah, the minorities do control the school board there.
It’s rampant, with corruption, and the students emerging are idiots. “Need more money” is the cry.
My old crib is gone. I wouldn’t go into that area in the daytime, let alone at night. It’s a disaster area.
