At least 6 shot, including 2 kids, in drive-by at family gathering in Englewood
At least six people were wounded, including an 8-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, in a drive-by shooting Saturday evening on the South Side that happened while a family was celebrating the upcoming birth of a child.
Gunfire erupted at 6:21 p.m. outside the gathering in the 6300 block of South Seeley in the Englewood neighborhood, according to Chicago police. The shots were fired from a red Chevrolet Equinox.
Both children were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, authorities said. The boy was struck in his back and chest, and the girl was shot in her shin, police said.
A 29-year-old woman was shot in her shoulder and chest, while a 42-year-old man was shot twice in his hip, police said. They were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the woman was in critical condition, and the man’s condition was stabilized.
The gunfire also hit a 23-year-old man in his foot and a 28-year-old man in the shoulder, police said. They were both taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized. The older man was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Witnesses were not cooperating with investigators, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. Detectives were reviewing footage from nearby surveillance cameras but had little physical evidence to work with at the scene.
The family was celebrating the upcoming birth of a child, authorities said.
The mother and grandmother of the wounded 8-year-old boy were seen waiting outside Comer, both of them visibly distressed. The mother, whose shirt was stained with blood, was crying out for her child.
“He’s just a baby, he’s just a baby,” the mother said, as tears flowed down her face.
The grandmother told reporters the boy was in surgery.
Meanwhile, in another shooting, a 13-year-old boy was seriously wounded about 8:20 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 73rd. Two males ran out of a vacant lot and fired shots into a car where the boy was sitting, striking him in the hip, police said. The car drove to 69th and Racine where paramedics were called. The boy’s condition was stabilized at Comer.
Speaking to reporters outside Comer, community activist Andrew Holmes called for prayers for the young victims and urged any witnesses to talk to police.
“We’re starting the spring and summer off wrong,” Holmes said.

Well, first of all, we are long ovrdue for a major economic downturn anyways. Secondly, its gonna be hard ot get his base out again with anything approaching the enthusiasm of last time, and he barely won it. He won with less votes than Romney lost with, if memory serves correctly. He also hasn’t accomplished jack shit thats actually beneficial for this country long term. I highly doubt Ill be voting. If I don’t my wife probably won’t either. Not because I will tell her not to, I won’t, but i just doubt she will bother if I don’t. But either way, thats 2 down. Im not in anything close to a swing state, swing district, or swing county. But still. I’m done supporting people who continue to fuck over this country and the people who put them in office.

At this point in history who cares? The inner cities and specifically black America has been the target of social welfare policies that have destroyed the black family and now any family caught in the governmental dragnet. All the way from welfare (paid to sit on your ass), food stamps (why work when they feed you), a phone (must have), a crib (sand bags, razor concertina and several 1911 pattern .45’s make it safer) and reparations (better than social security). I am not even going to mention ob gyn for the kiddoes as well as the programs to feed them until they are gunned down or thrown into jail. It will stop when they decide to stop it and not when the Chicago tribune or some such other rag sheet written by socialists thinks its time…….

We need to heavily arm all black citizens in all the cities in America ! This will have 2 benefits to society at large the desent families will be able to defend themselves and the worst of the worst will solve half the crime problem or more in 72 hours by killing each other or accidently shooting themselves .

Most impoverished folks will just pawn the gun. And if the cities are that bad, maybe we need to disburse the concentrated population of the cities out into the wonderful, full-employment, crime-free hinterland. If the concept of city isn’t working, then it’s time to dis-incorporate them and try something else.
And once the cities are empty, we can re-populate them with marsh rabbits.

I am currently reading “Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left is Selling a Fake Race War” by Wilfred Riley. Riley is black (a light-skinned black man) and a professor of political science at Kentucky State University.
Riley says that there have been hundreds of hate crime hoaxes, many if not most perpetrated by people of color, and he also says this occurs because there is a “CON” (Continuing Oppression Narrative) in the U.S., which is peddled by the left and which actually rewards (or at the very least fails to bring real-world, painful, negatively reinforcing consequences) to the hoaxers. Riley likewise states the supply for actual racism (by whites) is too low for the demand (the narrative peddled by the left).
Riley warns that white anger, resentment, and bitterness are growing and will continue to grow with every hoax, with every hoaxer going unpunished, and with every application of double-standards (Jussie Smollett’s disgusting actions took place after this book went on print).
But in addition to focusing on hate crime hoaxes, Riley goes through the history of race relations from old times to today, touching upon slavery, affirmative action, and crime, and the professor is not afraid to state that claims by leftist groups like BLM are utterly disconnected to reality: there is no police hunts of black people in America; there is no pogrom conducted by cops against African-Americans, and Riley is brave and honest enough to say that the media and academia are overwhelmingly and lopsidedly manned by people who lean left. Riley even mentions Channon Christian and Hugh Christopher Newsom (the old-timers at TBP know them) and speaks about how most Americans don’t know them and their story.
Riley also touches upon the extremely high black-on-black crime statistics, which largely explain the reason police come into contact with blacks so much more than with whites or Asians, and he points out that black-on-black crime is largely ignored, but when white-on-black crime happens, the media goes into a frenzy, all the while ignoring that white-on-black crime is several times less common that black-on-white crime (and of course, black-on-black crime).
The left will ignore Riley even as it ignores Walter Williams, Larry Elder, and Thomas Sowell, because Riley focuses on facts and truth and statistics rather than on narratives. The left today is not about what happens on the ground; it’s about theories and a Culturally Marxist worldview, and when those theories and worldview aren’t validated by what the everyday realities of life are, the left ignores those realities and attempt to change the world to match those realities (nonwhites cannot be racist; women can’t be sexist; gender isn’t binary; we can retrofit every building in the U.S.; the world will end in 12 years).
Cases like this tragic story out of Chicago perfectly match what Riley has found in his research, but they upset the left’s narrative – and this is why the left ignores such cases. Ditto with when Jazmine Barnes, a 7-year-old black girl, was shot dead in a Houston parking lot in late December 2018; it was first believed the perpetrator was a white man, and the media and some groups had a collective convulsion claiming it was a veritable lynching, an act of racist hatred. Then when the suspect, a 20-year-old black man was arrested, the media furor promptly died.
The left is hypocritical beyond belief; its chutzpah is jaw-dropping; its selective outrage thoroughly disconnected from any inkling of moral sensitivities, completely based on potential political profits, and by definition conditioned on whether an incident furthers or challenges its ideological narratives.
And thus, the left’s irrational and unhinged social justice warriors contribute to the increase of the ranks of the alt-right; it fortifies the very “bigots” it seeks to erase.
Chicago is MAGA country, or so I’ve heard.
