Many still operate with the .gov published numbers. This leads to a conception that it matters, or that perhaps responsibility could be achieved.
It doesn’t, it cannot.
We are well past that point.
It’s a damn game to all of them. Remember the Documentary “IOUSA” that came out in 2008 talking about what a spendthrift Bush was? Warren Buffet even had his fat ass on there talking smack about our massive $7T in debt. Bush was a piker compared to Obama and Trump. What a fucking joke.
I remember watching the documentary IOUSA in 2008 when the national debt was a measly $9.6T and thinking we are really screwed if we don’t get this under control. How foolish I was. Little did I know we could keep printing money, more than double the debt, and everything would be fine in the USA. Hell, the government tells me unemployment is at a 500 year low so it must be good.
And now with MMT, the sky is the limit. We can now have it all! We can all be like the guy on the right: lounging in our Lazyboy, living off SNAP cards and guaranteed income checks from Uncle Sam, and watching the MSM pump smoke up our ass.
