Motherhood Abandoned – Part 1 The Lies

Guest Post by Mary Christine

“Two go in, one leaves dead, the other one leaves wounded” Anonymous

Time after time, the reason you will be given by virtually every woman who had an abortion is “I had no choice”. Few subjects will invite the kind emotional responses that this one will. It is my contention that abortion is the root from where all the other hot button issues spring forth. Because when we allowed the legalized killing of the unborn, those least able to defend themselves, we opened the door to all the other hot button issues we are dealing with now. Guns, vaccines, LGBT, particularly the transgender issue whereby we are now dealing with misinformation, gas lighting, and outright lies. When it was seen that those tactics were so successful with abortion, the Enemy did not need to invent new tactics if the old ones worked so well. As if that were not enough, some states have legalized abortion up to the time of birth and are considering “post-birth abortion” or infanticide as a legal option.

I have been on both sides of this issue in my lifetime. On April 2, 2019, a post by Doug “Uncola” Lynn about the movie Unplanned generated 300 comments. The movie recounts the experiences of Abby Johnson, a former clinic director for Planned Parenthood.  She does not leave out the fact that she had two abortions, one medical and one chemical. She also admits that she stuffed all of her feelings about her abortions deep down in her soul, so that she could go on with her life as she had planned. I know the tactic she used on herself because I used the same tactic to allow myself to pretend that it hadn’t changed me. I was a young high school student, not a college student as she had been. At age 16, with no counseling whatsoever, I decided the best thing for me to do was kill my child(ren). I put that in parenthesis because there is reason to believe I was pregnant with twins.

There are a lot of things in my past I have forgotten the details about, but that is one part of my life where I can tell you nearly every detail about that day. How hot it was that day; the color of the walls of the abortion…I guess it could have been called a clinic but what it really was, was a part of an old segregation hospital that had been abandoned for years. A floor had been re-opened, not renovated mind you, just painted, cleaned and opened for business. I remember what the “doctor” looked like..a space man in scrubs and a facemask. You rarely talk to the doctor, that is a lie they like to tell you, that it is “between a woman and her doctor”. I remember the arguments I had with my mother, well not really arguments because I said very little. It was just her lecturing me as we traveled to and from. I remember what that first night was like…horrible cramping and no pain relief. I could not call for my mother as I would get no sympathy from her. I remember how I felt the next day…exhausted and crying.  She asked me why I was crying. “I killed my baby” I told her. “That was my grandchild” she said. We never talked about it again. As far as I know, she never told my father.

The day after that, however, I felt better and I did manage to stuff those feelings deep down inside. For the next 30 years I managed to go about life as if it never happened. But I never forgot. I made that decision because I believed I had no choice.

This essay is not about me in particular but to ask the question “Can we really have an honest conversation about abortion?” The pro-abortion side does not want an honest conversation to take place. It would be bad for business.  A women sitting there in the clinic is in a panic and making decisions with only one thought in her mind. I am trapped. How do I get out of this mess now? Right NOW! Alarm bells are going off in her head, she can’t think straight and she has tunnel vision. The abortion clinic “counselor” knows this and exploits it to the maximum.

There are many lies and half-truths floating around that need to be addressed in order for an honest conversation to even begin to take place. First, you must try to remove the emotion from the subject. That is a very hard thing to do because emotions very much play a part in these decisions; even those who have never been there still have strong opinions.

I think the first thing we need to get out of the way is the lie that there is “no choice”.  You hear that word a lot from both sides. What do they mean when they use that word, choice? I believe that the abortion clinic wants its clients to believe they have no choice. They want women to believe abortion is their only choice.

When one finds themselves in that predicament, there are actually 3 choices and all of them are hard and not without consequences.  The clinic “counselor” may not even bring up two of them and if she does, she will gloss over them and make it seem like they are not really choices at all.

  1. You can carry the baby and make an adoption plan.
  2. You can carry the baby and raise the child yourself.
  3. You can have the abortion and the problem will be solved immediately.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers exist in cities and towns all over the country to help women work through these choices. Admittedly, some are better than others. No one dies when they walk out of one unless she walks right into an abortion clinic afterword. In my area, Advice and Aid Pregnancy Center has been in business since 1983. When they acquired an ultrasound machine their success rate with preventing women from having an abortion skyrocketed to over 80%. That is why the abortion clinic does not allow the client to see their ultrasound.  Advice and Aid will give a woman the latest information about abortion procedures. If the women still insists on having an abortion, she can literally walk across the parking lot to Planned Parenthood and schedule the procedure. If she decides to carry, they will walk with her in that venture until the child turns 3 years old if, she so desires.

Each one of those choices will have consequences attached to them. The clinic “counselor” may or may not talk about 1 and 2, if they do, they will barely touch on them because their existence depends on their clients always picking number 3. They will always turn the conversation to abortion and be as vague as possible about the procedure and the after affects.  To understand why they continue to lie, I think it is necessary to understand a bit about the history of legalized abortion in the United States. It was founded on lies and can only continue to operate by lying. I will confine the history to a summary related to the twentieth century only.

Planned Parenthood was founded by a group of eugenicists headed by Margaret Sanger with the help of Emma Goldman, Rose Pastor Stokes, Fania Mindell, and Ethel Byrne just to name a few.  Their political views are quite interesting and if you are a history buff, I encourage you to look further into their political beliefs.  In 1922 the Planned Parenthood name was adopted for her birth control and “family planning” clinics and she expanded to high-minority low income areas.

Despite Sanger’s belief that birth control creates a door for the eugenicist, the two movements had yet to formally connect. This was due to the fact that Sanger was a strong advocate of negative eugenics, not positive eugenics (Black 135). She was a die-hard feminist and liberal sex crusader that thought multiple children were a chain and ball on female independence (Grant 73-75). But as post-World War II eugenicists searched for avenues to funnel their vice, Planned Parenthood became a worthy candidate.

During the early forties, Margaret Sanger instituted The Negro Project. The goal was to pull African American leaders and preachers into the movement so as to make the black community embrace the concepts birth control. In a letter she wrote to her cohort Dr. Clarence Gamble, she said, “we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out the idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members” (Green “Web of Deceit”).

In a speech Frederick Osborn gave at the annual Galton Lecture in 1956, he said, “Let’s stop telling everyone that they have generally inferior genetic qualities for they will never agree. Let’s base our proposals on the desirability of having children in homes where they will get affectionate and responsible care, and perhaps our proposals will be accepted” and that from this rebirth we may “see [eugenics] moving at last toward the high goals which Galton set for it” (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Ten).”

While the effort to widely dispense birth control and legalize abortion is tied together, the subject of birth control must be set aside for the time being. In the mid 1960’s, after the birth control pill became widely available, Planned Parenthood would turn its focus to legalize abortion and so began a propaganda campaign like none other seen before.

Americans were subjected to an array of myths about illegal abortions. Stories of butchers who preyed on women in back alleys and women dying from self-inflicted wounds from coat hangers and knitting needles were made up and widely disseminated. Statistics in the tens of thousands of deaths from these back alley or self-inflicted abortions were used to convince people that illegal abortion was a plague upon society that had to be ended.

Two attorneys who were looking for a case to use to overturn the abortion laws found Norma McCorvy aka Jane Roe. Ms. McCorvy later regretted her part in it and recanted everything in her testimony that was used in the landmark case.

The affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court didn’t happen the way I said it did, pure and simple. I lied! Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffey needed an extreme case to make their client look pitiable. Rape seemed to be the ticket. What made rape even worse? A gang rape! It all started out as a little lie, but my little lie grew and became more horrible with each telling.

Not only did I lie, but I was lied to. I did not come to the Supreme Court on behalf of a class of women. I wasn’t pursuing any legal remedy for my unwanted pregnancy. I did not go to the federal courts for relief. I met with Sarah Weddington to find out how I could obtain an abortion…. Sarah and Linda were looking for somebody, anybody, to use to further their own agenda. I was their most willing dupe.

Since all these lies succeeded in dismantling every state’s protection of the unborn, I think it’s fair to say that the entire abortion industry is based on a lie”

So what about those statistics that said women were dying by the tens of thousands because abortion was illegal? Live Action studied this particular question and reported back:

It is difficult to find credible estimates of the number of deaths associated with illegal abortion. One estimate, which has been frequently quoted, is between 5,000 and 10,000 deaths per year. That is hardly plausible, considering that the total number of deaths of women aged 15-44 from all causes in the United States is approximately 50,000 annually, and the total number of deaths due to abortion reported by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) has been below 500 since 1958 and below 100 since 1971.

Planned Parenthood’s own Medical Director, Mary Calderone, proclaimed in 1959 that “abortion was no longer a dangerous procedure because it was being committed by competent physicians. They must do a pretty good job if the death rate is as low as it is. Whatever trouble arises usually comes after self-induced abortions, which comprise approximately 8 per cent, or with the very small percentage that go to some kind of nonmedical abortionist.”

The Guttmacher Institute states that in 1930 there were 2700 deaths from abortions. The death rate had dropped to half that by 1940 and continued a downward trend, widely attributed to the use of antibiotics, so that by 1967 the death toll had dropped to 167.

Who is responsible for those highly inflated numbers that were used in the Roe v Wade court case? That person is Dr. Nathan Abramson, the founder of the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL). Propagating the myth that as many as 10,000 women a year were dying from “back alley abortions” was essential to convince seven justices that legalized abortion would be the only way to save the lives of women who would certainly die if they ruled against it. Dr. Abramson later admitted inflating those numbers in his book The Abortion Papers. Those figures were chosen because they were a “nice, round shocking figure”.

Before Roe v Wade made abortions legal, “therapeutic” abortions were fairly easy to attain in a majority of states. The physical and mental health of the mother was taken in to consideration and all a mother needed to do was to state that she was suicidal to attain a legal “therapeutic” abortion. I have heard personal stories of these kinds of abortions and their experiences were quite different than the stories of women who had a post Roe v Wade abortion. The difference of a hospital setting and the stand alone clinics that we have now is stark.

Deaths from self-induced so called “coat hanger” abortions have been mythologized as well. Again quoting the paper Mary Calderone presented to the American Public Health association in 1955:

“Whatever trouble arises usually comes after self-induced abortions, which comprise approximately 8 per cent (of deaths attributed to abortions), or with the very small percentage that go to some kind of nonmedical abortionist.”

This is not to make light of those deaths. Certainly those were tragedies. Better care was available in the hospital setting than women are getting now. We are still being mis-led about the safety of the current stand-alone clinics, as well as how safe and effective medical and surgical abortions are.

The first line of defense to continuing a pregnancy is emergency contraception, or the Morning After Pill. Emergency contraception is available over the counter in a non-prescription form. The brand name, ella, supposedly more effective, is only available by prescription. There is much confusion as to just how effective these forms of ECPs really are:

“Despite speculations and research, there is still no conclusive evidence that ECPs are effective at preventing pregnancy once ovulation (or fertilization) has occurred.”

You pay your money, and you take your chances. Then you wait to see if it did, indeed, work. I found it interesting that at that same link they note that it “doesn’t matter what your age or gender is” you can still buy it. She must let three weeks pass and if no period appears, then she needs to take a pregnancy test.

Her next option is a medical abortion, generically known as Mifepristone. The Mifepristone pill is taken on the first day to cause the embryo to detach from the uterus, two days later a different drug, Misoprostol, is taken to cause uterine contractions.

Many times, the woman is at home alone. This can be a very bloody and painful procedure that can drag out for over 3 days. It is neither simple nor inexpensive. Price varies depending on location. The average seems to be $500. How convenient for the abortion provider. They charge you a cool $500 and no fuss, no mess for the clinic. The woman “may” have an ultrasound to determine gestational age. She goes home and tucks herself into bed after her 2nd dose. In spite of the fact that they do give her a quick counsel, and there is a package insert, she is in no way prepared for what will happen next.

Abby Johnson dramatized this in the movie Unplanned and if you did not see it, Doug “Uncola” Lynn described the scene in his essay “Five Insights Gleaned From The Movie “Unplanned”.

She followed the clinic instructions, lay down on her bed at home, and mentally prepared herself for some mild discomfort.  In this blogger’s opinion, what transpired onscreen next surpassed the “shower scene” in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho”.

Personally, I would say that is a mild description. The scene would put the best horror movie to shame. Would every woman’s experience be the same? Probably not but a miscarriage, regardless of whether it is spontaneous or induced, is always going to involve some pain and lots of blood.

Once that is over, she is still not done.

The last step is a follow up with your nurse or doctor. You may go back into the health center for an ultrasound or blood test. Or you’ll get a pregnancy test to take at home, followed by a phone call with your nurse or doctor. These tests will make sure the abortion worked and that you’re healthy.”

What kinds of complications can follow a medical abortion?

Originally the FDA recommendation was for the patient to come back to the clinic two days after the first pill is taken. But this was updated in 2016 and the clinic website does not indicate that requirement. Strict instructions are given for the patient to follow and we only have what the trials indicated in the package insert regarding complications. Included at the top is this boxed warning:

WARNING: SERIOUS AND SOMETIMES FATAL INFECTIONS OR BLEEDING See full prescribing information for complete boxed warning. Serious and sometimes fatal infections and bleeding occur very rarely following spontaneous, surgical, and medical abortions, including following MIFEPREX use. • Atypical Presentation of Infection. Patients with serious bacterial infections and sepsis can present without fever, bacteremia or significant findings on pelvic examination. A high index of suspicion is needed to rule out serious infection and sepsis. (5.1) • Bleeding. Prolonged heavy bleeding may be a sign of incomplete abortion or other complications and prompt medical or surgical intervention may be needed. (5.2) MIFEPREX is only available through a restricted program called the MIFEPREX REMS Program (5.3). Before prescribing MIFEPREX, inform the patient about these risks. Ensure the patient knows whom to call and what to do if she experiences sustained fever, severe abdominal pain, prolonged heavy bleeding, or syncope, or if she experiences abdominal pain or discomfort or general malaise for more than 24 hours after taking misoprostol. Advise the patient to take the MEDICATION GUIDE with her if she visits an emergency room or another healthcare provider who did not prescribe MIFEPREX, so that provider knows that she is undergoing a medical abortion. (5.1, 5.2)

Based on the most recent statistics I could find, there are somewhere between 900,000 and 1,000,000 abortions occurring yearly since 2014. These same statistics indicate that 31% of these were medical abortions. At least 3-5% of these require a surgical abortion following the medical abortion. That’s as many as 15,000 women. 3-5% doesn’t seem like a lot unless you are one of those women.

I think I have ventured far enough into the weeds. It’s impossible to really find out how many women have been adversely affected physically.

If she misses the timetable for having a medical abortion or for some other reason she must have a surgical abortion then that will be the next step. The procedure is violent and invasive. But that is not how it is described by the clinic.

“a small, hand-held suction device or suction machine to gently take the pregnancy tissue out of your uterus”

If it weren’t for the fact that what is being described is so grim, I would almost have to laugh at that description. It is far from gentle. It’s noisy and painful and the ten minutes it takes to do the abortion seems like 10 hours. At least we don’t have to clean up after ourselves afterwards.

The cost of a surgical abortion can vary because it is covered by insurance or, in some cases it is covered by Medicaid. An average is $500-600 to start and the price goes up into the thousands the farther along she is.

If she happens to let too much time pass or has chosen to abort later because of possible birth defects, then it is even more expensive and the process is literally labor intensive. The abortionist must induce labor first. You understand, the mother must go into labor and the abortionist delivers what was a live baby that he must kill in the process. It’s very gruesome and if you would like to read about the process which is described in the abortionists own words; you may find that information here.

There is much more information available to speak to the safety of the procedures the clinics are providing at Operation Rescue. They have been keeping records of medical emergencies at abortion clinics since 2009. There are 300 incidents listed so far and it goes up nearly every week.  Granted, not every single one is a unique emergency, some are follow-up articles, while others are about more than one incident. It takes them a lot of time and effort to get the 911 records of these incidents. These are most likely a drop in the bucket when you think about the possibility that there are probably incidents of women having to go to the ER sometime after she leaves the clinic. Not to mention the fact that many clinics are not observed for 911 calls all of the time if at all.  Here is just a sample of some of those incidents:

What’s Wrong at NYC Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood? 5 Women Hospitalized in 7 Weeks

Operation Rescue was sued by Planned Parenthood in 2015 for “racketeering” in connection to the baby part selling expose they did when they partnered with the Center for Medical Progress. The lawsuit is ongoing.

Whenever states try to pass laws regulating these clinics, the abortion industry fights tooth and nail to block them, claiming it “creates unconstitutional barriers” to a woman’s right to an abortion. Never mind that these laws are meant to make sure the clinics are clean and safe and women are fully informed about procedures and options. Why should an abortion clinic not be regulated the same as any other stand-alone outpatient surgical clinic?

The Kansas Legislature recently passed a law that was vetoed by the Governor due to heavy lobbying against the bill by the abortion industry.

“Abortion Pill Reversal Notification (APR) empowers women contemplating medication abortions with the knowledge that, should they change their minds about completing the abortion, there is timely medical help available to possibly save their babies.”

Why, if they abortion industry is truly about choice, would they be against informing a woman that should she change her mind, there is help available?

They claim that it is medically unsound, yet,

“A recent study shows APR is safe for mother and child and that nearly 60% who undertake the reversal pill protocol, carry the baby to term, with no higher occurrence of birth defects or developmental problems than is experienced by babies in normal births. Over 500 babies have been born using the APR protocol, and the rate of women using this procedure is rapidly rising”

It makes no sense. If she chooses to take the first pill, they have already charged her for it and there is no refund. Is this the eugenics background rearing its ugly head?

You might be wondering if there have been abortion related deaths since abortion was legalized. The short answer is yes. 154 documented deaths have been verified here. However, they also explain that while there are 700 additional deaths that are highly suspicious, without all the necessary evidence they cannot include those in their statistics. They also explain why it is so difficult to find out true mortality statistics on abortion related deaths.

I suppose at this point the question “What exactly is it that is being killed?” needs to be asked.

Can we agree that it is human, that it is alive, and that it is unique?

What is it that makes it different from a birthed human?

·        Size

·        Level of development

·        Environment

·        Degree of dependency

Do any of those four things matter after being born? Is a toddler worth less than a ten year old just because the difference between the two is those four things listed above?

If the answer is yes, then why? What makes a human more valuable after birth than he is right before, or several months before? More discussion on this can be found here and here.

Many times the discussion will lead to the problem of “forcing women to carry to term against their will”. What if there was a solution to this without an abortion?

A scientific breakthrough is on the horizon that could irrevocably alter the abortion debate as we know it. That breakthrough is the artificial uterus, which could drastically lower the developmental age at which an unborn baby is viable, potentially to as early as conception itself.”

Does that take us back to the “I can’t give my baby away to someone else” problem?

I’m not holding my breath for Roe v Wade to be overturned. What I’m about to say will probably be to the dismay of my pro-life friends, but I’m not even sure it’s a good idea anymore. The system was not broken in the first place. Now that it’s legal it’s a worse mess than it ever was before. I doubt we could put that Pandora back into the box now. It is very unlikely that it would go back to the way it was before. If it were thrown back to the states you would have a patchwork of states where it’s legal, and others where it’s not, and still more where it would be available with certain restrictions. Some states may want to convict women who have abortions of murder. Just last month a Texas lawmaker caused an uproar when he introduced a law to do just that. Previous to Roe v Wade women were not prosecuted for murder for having an abortion.

The patchwork way abortion is handled by the various states can be seen in the way they regulate the abortion clinics now. Some states tightly regulate the clinics and, frighteningly, others such as Montana, where it does not require a doctor to perform the abortion, are very lax in their regulations.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any good solutions other than to insist that women are not kept in the dark about what they are doing to themselves. By shedding more light on what is happening to our women after they make this decision, maybe we can truly make abortion rare, legal or not.

Until that time comes, if it ever does, we will walk into the clinic with our brains on overload and we will make what we think is going to be the best choice that we can. How does that leave us feeling afterward?

Well it’s cold cold cold, cold inside
Darker in the day than the dead of night
Cold cold cold, cold inside
Doctor, can you help me ’cause something don’t feel right
Something don’t feel right

I am deeply sorry for what happened and wanted to thank you for the courage it took to write this now, believing as you do in what is right and wrong. I am grateful for your words and I hope this is read widely. I think you are correct, everything in our world went off the rails when this abomination of a law came into being.

Every single time my wife comes through the door, every time I hear her voice, there is a small part of me that feels a deep sense of gratitude to the young woman in Ohio who, half a century ago, made the decision to deliver her child and put her up for adoption instead of aborting her. That single decision made this world a better place for so many people I cannot imagine my life without the sacrifice some unknown woman made so long ago.

Abortion is the murder of the most vulnerable members of humanity. Any society that condones it is condemned by it’s own actions. I don’t know if there is a war going on in a space and time we are unaware of, between angels and demons, good and evil, visible and unseen, but I do know that it manifests itself in our degenerate and dying culture. When I was younger and I saw the flag my heart would swell in my chest. I offered my own life for this country and would have gladly given it as every generation of my family had for over two hundred years because I believed in America, in us.

When I look at it now all I see is Moloch.

Thank you, Farmer. I have always looked with awe and admiration at women who had the courage to make an adoption plan for their child. I am sure they will never know how much they bless the adoptive parents.

The sun is finally out today after 4 days of clouds and rain. I’m not going to check in much. Maybe lunch time. This evening for sure.

HSF, I agree. Our country has never in over a hundred years been what we are taught it is. As a submariner we used to wear ballcaps with patch holding the name of the submarine and submarine insignia with our working uniforms. On my second boat in the 1980s the ballcap patch with name had a gold border around it.
During the gulf war I noticed that all the uniforms of the army and marines had the US flag with the gold boarder. Then I recalled that all government offices I had been in my entire life had the gold fringe around the national ensign. I later learned that this is because of the organic act of 1870 when our country to the confines of the district of Columbia became incorporated. Us citizens don’t realize that the government has no legal standing outside the district. The flag my father stood before atop Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima had no gold fringe.

M.C. I have two rabid pro abortion females in my family. Mom and sister. My sister was living back with mom and dad after her failed college attempt. She got pregnant in Germany and my parents sent her to Copenhagen for the abortion. The abortion changed my sister in ways that have affected her whole life and she and mom are pro death (choice) as to support their decision from decades ago.

“I don’t know if there is a war going on in a space and time we are unaware of, between angels and demons, good and evil, visible and unseen, but I do know that it manifests itself in our degenerate and dying culture.”

HF… by the fact that you are witness to its manifestation in this world, the war you allude to therefore must be occurring. Good is. Evil is. They cannot/will not coexist forever. One will vanquish the other. Good has already prevailed.

Christ is the cure. I believe that you MC understand this fully. I also believe that each and every innocent life (innocence meaning the inability to understand ones fallen condition, a baby, a severely malformed brain/body) is safely stored away in Gods loving hands. Such a one is not held responsible for a sin condition he was unable to comprehend.

Hope abounds in this fallen world. It will not always be this way.

1 Corinthians 15:19 KJB… “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”

The Christian should not be miserable; tired perhaps, but not at all miserable. He has the hope of life after death… resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:20 KJB… “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.”

Them that slept…

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 KJB… “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Resurrection of all that sleep in Christ. Amen…! I will meet one I’ve yet to meet as well.

grace and peace…

My hat’s off to you, MC, for being willing to share such an intimate part of your life.
You’re right; this is an incredibly volatile subject, fraught with intense passions.

To me it’s just one more example of the horrible deceptions foisted upon the most vulnerable among us.
I know that women are increasingly viewing abortion in a much more casual light, but I will never lose the sadness – in fact, the sorrow grows deeper every day – that the world has become so twisted, perverse and … I thought for quite awhile for the right word, but ‘evil’ is all I can come up with…that would lead a young woman to believe that killing her child is the only solution.
And worst of all is the fact that the lies have become so entrenched that the child is increasingly not even considered human anymore, even by it’s mother.
It’s a fallen world, and this is just one more symptom. The only true solution is to stand strong in Christ, and speak the truth in love.

You’re well-suited to writing that essay, HF; you’re The Metaphor Whisperer.

The truth must be approached metaphorically. It is subjective within human consciousness.

I see “The Truth” for humanity like a stock market with everybody betting their own truth. Everybody’s win is somebody’s loss.

The reason that Ultimate Truth, God, is unknowable to humans, is because He ‘recapitulates’ all opposing truths within Him; everybody wins. No human can do that.

Donkey Balls swings a heavy sack – throwing that out, ripe for downvotes in this lion pit. As far as human consensus is concerned, he is 100% correct.

Many cultures use animal stories, rich with metaphor and our commonalities, to ‘recapitulate’ human truth. Aesop did so as well as any.

It’s a way to reach consensus, with a smile.

The Eavesdropping Jay

Lothario is my Scrub Jay friend. I’ve known him since he dropped from his nest, unafraid, and joined me at my table. His first brood followed suit, his first son landing on my knee to look inside me. I didn’t name Jay Lo until I realized he had two separate broods his first year. He maintained fierce dominion over my table of peanuts, in the shell and crushed. He would vanquish flocks of birds to protect his bounty. He had enough food to feed two families and had wrinkles in his brow feathers to prove it. He always looked angry about something his first year as a dad.

This year, he has only one mate. He looks much more relaxed, even though his cornucopia made his mate fat enough to have two fledglings, both beautiful.

Lo has more time to talk these days and shared his thoughts about our different worlds.

He was focusing on filling his gullet with fresh-crushed peanuts when he said, looking at his pile, “You don’t have to live by the Laws of Nature as we do.”

I intentionally misunderstood him. “Well, I do actually. The Laws of Human Nature – as do you, which is why jays avoid most of us. Human Nature and its Laws depend on how popular you are and, being not so popular, I prefer Mother’s Nature’s Laws. She doesn’t give a shit how popular you are.”

Lo turning his head sideways and up, looking at me with one cynical eye, “And your reasons for breaking everybody’s laws would be?”

Jays are related to the Animal Kingdom’s Pinnacle Wise-Ass, the crow, always clever, smiling at the trapdoor while you hand them a noose on a scaffold of whiskered humor.

I’m always ready for ripostes from my feathered lizard friend, and countered, “Because I have to change my underfeathers every day! How are you going to explain that to your fledglings?”

Lo showed how he could have a lucrative future entertaining crowds of crows, jumping from the table to a chair, Zorro-slashing the back to clean his beak, squawking, “After they have known you for a year, I won’t have to explain the difference between a cloaca and an asshole!”

He launched and flew in front of my face with a “YakYakYak” laugh and I heard his mate, hidden in the pine boughs, “He eavesdrops on your neighbors”.

An excellent discussion of the data and history, but where is the “honest conversation”? Your original thesis that the root of our many social ills and cultural dysfunction can be attributed to permitting infanticide/abortion is spot on and maybe you could explore that in a second article!

Cultural Marxists understand that for the state to be supreme they must destroy the family. I can’t think of a more effective way to do that than widely available abortion and a consistently reinforced message that the family (your children) are mere blobs of protoplasm to be dispensed with if even slightly inconvenient.

Obviously, this goes against all elements of human nature honed over millennia that allowed our species to thrive and cover the earth in our billions! To quote GOT “in winter the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives”….we are tribal/clan/family species that through mutual support can outcompete any other species on the planet. The destruction of those bonds, both through the physical act of murdering the unborn (and now just born) and the psychological impact on the individual and culture are lethal…..e.g. the comment above on the suicide of the young woman who had an abortion.

I can say universally that the women I have known who had an abortion were forever damaged by the guilt of committing an act diametrically opposed to their biological/cultural imperative. We are nothing if there is not the next generation.

The obvious answer is that all abortion is murder and should be treated as such. That imposes some burdens that in the past we have willingly accepted and should do so again. Children unwanted should be available for adoption and cared for until adopted. My preference is privately funded charity organizations through the Catholic Church was very abusive in this role.

To me that’s the conversation: Recognize the destructive evil of abortion, ban it entirely and provide the support system to care for the children the biological parents can’t support.

One other data area Mary is the enormous amounts of cash being generated through the sale of fetal tissues and organ harvesting. Much of the impetus on late-term abortions are driven by profit (Gov. Northam of VA is a great example) as well as the pernicious cultural Marxism…..

When I was young, I was pro-choice, believing the decision was best left up to a woman and their doctor. As time has gone on, technology has vastly improved and pro-abortion forces can no longer claim an unborn baby is just a clump of cells. What one sees now from very early on a regular ultrasound or a 3D ultrasound is clearly a small human being. For this reason, I can no longer accept that abortion is healthcare, or that it’s good for women, and it’s certainly not good for children. I was always pro-adoption, but I can no longer call myself pro-choice because I can no longer understand how a woman could willingly chose to kill their baby.

It should be a requirement that all women considering abortion should be made to view their ultrasound. If we have informed consent, she must have full knowledge of the little human that’s growing inside her and understand the dire consequences to that baby if she choses abortion.

I live in Canada, where we’ve had no abortion law since the 1980s, and no government of any flavour will dare re-open the subject. Fortunately, there are few medical practitioners up here that will perform the procedure, and most are only in the major cities, so that reduces abortion availability but without a law, there’s reason to suspect it’s possible there’s a Gosnell type character up here doing third trimester abortions, with no worry that the law will stop them.

I hope with continued education and as information about the details about the abortion procedure, both surgical and through use of the “abortion pill” Mifepristone, become more widely known, fewer and fewer women will make the choice to kill their babies through abortion and someday, demand for the procedure will drop to zero.

Abortion is a really horrible thing that I think is being used as a fix for many dumb cases of sex without birth control. Show abortions live on TV in the evening if it’s such an acceptable thing. I can see it in cases like rape or incest or if somehow your life would be at risk if you carried the baby and gave birth.
Considering what it is doing to our society I think having sex and raising kids is best done by a married couple. I guess I am old fashioned about telling people to wait and make a commitment. There are way too many single parents also.

While I generally agree with your premise that a married couple should have children as a child needs a father and a mother. However, my youngest daughter is a single parent to two great girls. One is 17 and the other is 11. Both have their fathers in their life. So they have as normal a family life as possible.

Not all children can grow up in a two parent family. In the past, many men died and left their wives and children to fend the best they could. The same holds true today. The difference now is the utter lack of morals being handed down to the children. The pubic skool system teaches a system of morals that are debased and deviant. It abhors God. This is the reason bullying is so rampant in the pubic skools. The bullies look to the state and see what it does and copies it.

Until the state is removed as god from education and God is put back in place nothing will change. Therefore, the state has to be stripped of its roll in education on all levels, city, county, state and federal. Education must be returned to the primary impetuous, the parents and no one else.

M.C.

Thank you for sharing such intimate personal experiences and thoughts with such candor. I hope this expression of your experiences and temporal understandings is personally cathartic for you and any other women, young or aged, who stumble across it.

From a young age, I had been indoctrinated into believing that the act of abortion was solely a “woman’s rights” issue but with age and learning about ideological subversion as former KBG agent, defector, Yuri Bezmenov, the implementation of active measures on the American people and, in turn, it’s culture, I have come to conclude that most of these “rights” issues have their roots in Marxist and the first Stage of the active measures program: Demoralization.

For those of you unfamiliar with Yuri’s work, I’ll repost the video I originally posted on Uncola’s most recent thread. Yuri discusses Demoralization within the first few minutes of the interview.

It is amazing the levels of propaganda consumed via public education and Hollywoodland by the unsuspecting American.

When I was in my 20s I worked for the County Health services agency in its urgent care and became familiar with many of the patient finance counselors. These counselors would interview people and sign them up for Medi Cal benefits if they qualified. My best friend told me he had gotten his girlfriend pregnant and that she didn’t have health insurance. He asked me to get him to the front of the line, so to speak, for her to sign up for insurance. I was excited for him and said “Sure, no problem”…my naivety assuming it was so she could receive adequate care for her pregnancy….little did I know it was so they could abort the child.

I always wonder if he had told me what they were planning to do if I wouldn’t have told him that he was on his own getting insurance or not. I’m sure they could have got it own their own, but it always is with me and I didn’t even fornicate with the woman so I can only imagine the effects of such a monumental decision that might occur later in life.

Again, M.C., thank you for sharing.

Much Love!

Everything about the abortion industry is based on lies . Always has been and all ways will be. It’s murder . Plan and simple as that. Everything these Jews do is done to decive their enemy the ” goy “.
The civil Rights movement was based on lies. ” By deception you shall wage war ” is their believe. They are lairs who lie. Everything about the Middle East and Israel is based on lies. About the Wars . Pick the war and look at the Jews that will be behind it and why. The whole world is being decived by their control of the media. When the Bankers ( Many of whom are Jewish )do their planned take down of the world economy the true agenda for the ” goys ” will be revealed as it was to the white people in Russia in 1919.
If any of you call me a Jew hater then you are right. I hate the bastards. I hate what their lies have done to America and its people. Just ask M C what the lie of abortion has done to her . I do have sympathy for anyone who has been decived by the Jew and his lies. Especially the young the men who have fought and are still fighting these never ending Wars..Once you have studied the Jew and his methods then you ( I ) see his stamp ,his seal in all areas of life. Remember there have never been a time when Americans have been free from Jewish propaganda . The control of Hollywood ,The News Media , Newspapers and the Banks has been with us since the first waves of European immigration. The Jews knew based on their experiences in Europe that in order to control and destroy goy Societies they would have to own and control the Debt based monetary system. Then they could print ( counterfeit ) the money they needed to buy anything else . Don’t believe me ? Then you haven’t studied their methods . There is a reason these vile bastards have been kicked out of 109 didn’t nations at different times. There is a reason they are hated world over .

1964 or so I was 16 and I lived in a 1400 square foot house, three bedroom two bath. At the time my mother was driving 45 miles 5x a week to attend beauty/hair salon school. The pressure of paying future college tuition hit my parents and mom went to work, eventually opening the largest beauty salon in town. She met an unwed teenage mother in attendance at the hairdressing school, who needed a place to live while she went to term with plans to give the baby up for adoption. So my three brothers and I took the bedroom without a bathroom.

It made a huge impression with me. I had friendly conversations with her and showed compassion for her plight. She greatly appreciated our hospitality inasmuch she did not want to advertise her pregnancy in the up-county small town she was from. After the baby was born she moved out and I always wondered about her. 40 years later she showed up in my office as a client. And thanked me again for my friendship during her difficult times.

MC, powerful sharing. Thank you for enriching my Friday meditations.

While in college I dated and loved an adoptee, daughter of an AF Col. Wonderful person. I saw her three years ago, long after the death of her parents, and she had successfully found her biological blood family. I have known a few women who could not have a childbirth and adopted, with gratitude above and beyond.

And I have known those who think abortion is a form of birth control. Eight and counting for one particularly egregious example. To her credit she did give up a teenage birth for adoption. (none of her abortions were mine.)

I think of the movie Children of Men which depicts a world not far in the future where birth rates fall to zero. And the story of the first baby born after 20 years of human infertility. It is a sad world where healthy fetal babies are aborted because, because.

I am not one without empathy, but there seems to always be one thing left out of the abortion issue. If you do not want to get pregnant. How about not having sex. If you must have sex. There are at least a half dozen ways to not get pregnant through various birth control methods. This would put the” Abortions for convenience” out of business. I admit there are circumstances that no choice in the matter is a factor, but the bulk of abortions are for convenience. Just saying…..

If you don’t want to do the time, don’t do the crime?

I think this gets into the feminism movement and how women are being taught today to no longer be modest, rather if you “got it, flaunt it” kind of way. Empowering women to not be ashamed to use their bodies to get what they want and to encourage men and women alike to view the woman’s body as an object and anyone who points this out to be guilty of virtue signaling. To be carefree and promiscuous as a form of self expression and power in exercising their “rights”…
Advertising, the fashion industry, and social media are selling the “perfection of beauty ” and it is a HUGE stumbling block for these young ladies growing up nowadays.

Mary Christine, before I get into your so very well researched, God-breathed, heartfelt excellent writing – I’d like to say just one thing about this site – and please forgive me – as there are so many brilliant writers here its too bad that the sleazy advertising is allowed to detract from it all- the advertising is demeaning to women as well as to the men – I have stayed off this site for awhile because of it. I wish the admin would raise the bar higher. It’s demeaning to all here.

That being said, just to let you know Steve Quayle put your writing on his sight. Saw it today 5/10 and ran right over.

To those men and women of abortion, (men play a big part in this decision as it is their child also) there is God-given forgiveness, IF there is repentance with deep sorrow and true regret.

Only the Almighty Creator can restore and forgive. Thank you, Mary Christine. God has blessed you mightily with your deeply heartfelt words and true compassion. Your drawing brought tears to my eyes. It is as sorrowful as it is the Truth. Thank you, Mary Christine.

What you have written is so very much needed. I hope it wakes up the “powerz-that-be” and the American public to what has been allowed to go even farther down into the dark sewer of death and destruction. Those who have voted for (applauded) the murder of our babies, (whether a voting citizen or politician), and condone it will burn in a fiery hell. That’s a given. Especially those who have sold their lies to a deceived public for so many years.

A Holy God will not be mocked. America will receive her just desserts….in spades. And it’s fast coming upon us. When we devalue one form of life, we very soon devalue all forms of life. Death and killing becomes easier with each generation. We are no longer a land of the free and home of the brave…its doubtful that we every were. We are a land that thrives on killing our most vulnerable. No aborted child ever had a “choice.”

Your writing, Mary Christine, is given to you directly from God in His infinite wisdom to put you here such a time as this. If this just stops one tiny life from being snuffed out so barbarically, brutally, and deceitfully…its all worth the time it has taken to do the extensive and thorough research, from your heart. Let’s hope this is spread far and wide. And pray this is a “wake-up” call to any women considering, or any man, (the man plays a big part in this decision whether for or against) abortion as an only option.

“Word, the thing about the advertising, it just does not bother me. I don’t even see it. I guess I’m good at filtering it out. Admin struggles to keep this site going and is losing revenue because he is a free speech advocate and walks the walk. ”

Mary Christine – Why do you think that is?? “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” God will not be mocked. You will know them by their fruit. And, yes, I understand most here are not believers.

As a nation we have de-volved from a nation that once had a sense of right and wrong; knew shame and blushed; worked hard, and had a fairly decent moral compass.

Sin is sin and can never be applauded nor condoned for a child of the living God. You shall know them by their fruit. It’s all about what and who we choose to applaud and condone.

There is a huge correlation between what we choose to see with our eyes – videos, gaming, movies and the messages they portray; soft porn advertising leading to even harder core ever deeper into the dark slippery slope.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts.

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–comes not from the Father but from the world.” 1 John 2:14, 16 We are to overcome the world.
1 John 5:4,5,10.

Mary Christine – here’s the main thing we as believer’s need to know about deception in this day and age because time is short!! ——–
Romans 1: 32 “Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things are worthy of death, they not only continue to do these things, but also APPROVE OF THOSE WHO PRACTICE THEM.

Just want to say. That is the reason Admin runs those adds, Because most people my self included. WILL NOT GIVE MONEY for what one gets for free. I have read this blog and all the comments for years and this is my 2nd post ever. Hell I order stuff off Amazon from time to time and never bothered to click the admin link so he gets a kick back.
I like him, I value him, but I am lazy ass just like 99.9999% of the human population.
Griping about human failing or weakness is a waste of breath. Because I am of the maybe 1% that at least understands what is going on and why. (It is not perfect or even right but we agree on at least 50% of stuff or we would not be on the same blog)
Do not complain without ponying up the money.
I am dealing with crippling depression atm and have been for years but I don’t post complaints about other people. Dealing with the issues of my own. My of
Wife (of 14 years) planned to divorce me from the day I said I was retiring from the Guard as an Intel specialist because she did not want to move away from her mom. New job was a state away so she auto gets full custody. So now in school to get a whole new profession to be with my kids (2 sons 8 and 5) more than once a month. And even when the schooling is done taking a 50k pay cut with the new profession. All the while working a job I despise and have for years to pay for the ex’s lifestyle wanted to pay the alimony.
Strange to think that ones spouse can cause PTSD rather than 3 years deployed etc can be caused by ones loved one rather than combat.

As a recovering sex and love addict ( according to agreements well conceived ) I submit a subscription service that eliminates the ads would be well subscribed to. Thank Jim for his ‘free’ service keeping the lights on! I put in $300 last year. I would do it again for the privilege of a ad free feed.

I imagine this has been brought up before but have not seen the plausibility spoken of. I tried ad blocker stuff but it keeps on coming through the filter.

On the bright side, the salacious click baits reinforce what I have learned to avoid. It desensitizes my eye of desire, confirming the manipulative intent when faced with boobs and such.

I don’t know the racial or political distribution of those who abort their offspring.

However, my gut feel is that the majority are kneegrows and liberals.

If that’s true, then had all those babies been born then we probably would never have another Republican president.

Am I making a case for abortion? No, I am not. But, it is something to think about.

“Can we really have an honest conversation about abortion?”

Nope. I don’t think it’s possible.

Evil, once unleashed, can’t be put back in the bottle.

— Those against abortion (such as me) will NEVER abide with evil by agreeing to legalize it.

— Those for abortion will NEVER abandon their proclivity towards evil.

So, how then can an honest conversation be had?

I agree, Stucky. Ottomatik is going to share this with his pro-choice friends. I salute him for trying to do that.
But I will tell you that I had to be slammed down and otherwise changed (by Christ) before I was open to thinking differently. That does not mean we should not at least try. Not all Christians are pro-life and not all non-Christians are pro-choice. In fact, the demographics for Christians that have abortions is hardly different than for any other demographic. I was going to include the demographics but I could not cover everything. They are interesting, though. maybe I will find them and post them in a comment.

Another thing I left out was information about protesters. Even when they are only praying and mostly silent they are intimidating. The loud obnoxious ones are rare, I have never encountered any but I know that they have been a problem before. Those people are a blot on humanity.

“In fact, the demographics for Christians that have abortions is hardly different than for any other demographic. ”

Indeed!! +1000

In fact, let’s take it a step further. The demographics between Christians and non-Christians is virtually identical in every area of life!” For example, there is little difference between divorce rates. Or, bankruptcies. Or, infidelity. Or most other areas of comparison.

What does that tell me? It tells me that generally Christianity make little to no difference in our American cultural, social, political, or moral life. None. Nada. Zip. It seems Christian influence in America is about the same as a slice of pecan pie. lol

Now, I said “generally”. There are outliers … people like yourself (really). But, such folks are the exception. I know what I observe with my own eyes. As such, I see very little influence of Christ on America … and that tells me most Christians today are nothing but a bag of hot air.

How is it that a handful of despised low-life (literally) band of Believers turned the entire Roman Empire inside out … yet, 100 million or so professed Christians can’t affect jack shit here in America??? And please, let’s not blame the devil. It’s Hot Air Christians — of which we have several here on TBP, imho.

Nice rant! And so true, too. It seems that the people who call themselves Christians are a bigger mess than the secular population. Mainly because they don’t really want to face their own sin issues. So they just ignore them or, worse, hide them.

By shedding more light on what is happening to our women after they make this decision, maybe we can truly make abortion rare, legal or not.

No doubt this piece is an important step in that direction and I hope it gets wide distribution, MC.

Furthermore, I suspect it is also an article that will stand the test of time and I want to believe the truth therein has the potential to set free entire generations.

Other than that, I’ll just say your article above moved me. It was all at once erudite, unflappable, practical, inspirational, well-referenced, humble, courageous, and profoundly poignant.

Thank you.

Mary Christine,

Thank you for your bravery in telling the truth and for your eloquence. I heard a pastor preach a sermon one time citing various and multiple Biblical scriptures on how there can be zero doubt that ALL children under the age of reason enter through the gates of heaven in the blink of an eye (Matthew 19:14, etc.).

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

David had this to say about the child God took from him and Bathsheba in 1 Samuel 12:23:
“But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.”

This seems to insinuate the child is in paradise.

If a man should become a father a hundred times and live for many years and reach old age, yet he* does not enjoy his good things before he reaches the grave,* I must say that a stillborn child is better off than he is.+ 4 For this one came in vain and went away in darkness, and his name is shrouded in darkness. 5 Even though he never saw the sun or knew anything, he is still better off* than the former one.+ 6 What is the benefit of living a thousand years twice over but not experiencing enjoyment?

Interesting that you chose that story. In it, David commands that the thief must die. Nathan reveals David is the transgressor. But because of David’s repentance, it is the innocent child who dies. In the Garden of Eden, it is also Eve’s son who dies for their transgression. Later, we see another innocent, God’s son dies for man’s transgression. The innocents have a chance to go directly to heaven but man is more apt to die in his transgressions like Hamlet’s father; unconfessed and unclean.

People always have a problem with those things, EC. I try not to question God’s judgment. I know lots of people have a problem with that. It’s all about trust, isn’t it? Many times the innocents suffer immensely before they get to go to paradise.

I would not have believed this could have been written by an (astute, unwavering, repentant, loving (I hope)) woman. So well done.
Much I could speak to: my own participation (as a male) in two abortions. My repentance, and received forgiveness – Thank you Jesus.
But here is an angle that is not mentioned in your exceptional and candid article. What of the child?
If it is true (and I believe that it is) that a child can recognize it’s other and fathers voice, that it can sense soothing music, etc…then is it not also true that the child…the baby…the human can sense the heart of that mother and father? Is it not true that the child can sense that it is not wanted? In fact unwanted? Rejected? To much of a hassle? Inconvenient?
If this is true – I know that it is – would this explain in part the ‘attachment disorder in adopted children? My wife and I (of 34 years) have three biological children, and two adopted.
(One from China, and then other from Korea). The Chinese (girl) was ‘wanted’ by her parents, but forbidden by the state. Our Korean son was unwanted by his 16 year old mother, and one night stand father.
My wife and I work (volunteer) at a school for ‘wayward boys’. Over 45% of them are adopted. 45%!!! How can you explain 3% of children are adopted in America each year, and yet 45% at a residential ‘reform’ school are adopted. Are they not trying to fill the ‘God-shaped hole’ in their heart(s) of being un-wanted? Desiring to be ‘liked/wanted’ by looking good, or a sense of humor, or buying things for other people, or doing things that will make others think they are ‘so cool’, or cutting themselves to ‘fill the hole’? It’s primal. Way before something that words can be put too (with groans too deep for words!). But it’s true.
So a woman ( and the man) that engage in sex outside of marriage, that results in pregnancy and then gives their child up for adoption (way better than aborting), …well, look at the fallout.
MC you say early on in your article that you suspect this (abortion) to be the root of many of the ills of our world today (agreed! By the way). Could the lustful desires (fleshly desires) – outside or inside of marriage also be a major root of this ‘problem’?
Interesting to think through isn’t it…? What if a reborn baby knows it is not wanted, and this truth is where the enemy gets it’s first toe hole, that eventually becomes a stronghold…leading to 45% (year-in and year-out by the way) of reform school (juvenile detention as well) boys?
Maybe this is why God said (in so many words ‘have sex (be fruitful and multiply), but do it inside the covenant of marriage…to do otherwise is to invite tragedy, turmoil and brokenness – thereby allowing the enemy a (legal) toehold.
Many readers may ‘object’, or find ‘impossible’ what I am suggesting…may I encourage you to look past the offense, and into the reality of knowingness beyond intellect…
Just a thought in Him.

Not all of the women aborting are single. Many are married. It’s very sad. The reasons for this vary but it’s rarely health reasons. Sometimes it’s because they have been told the baby will have some sort of defect. Those tests can be wrong, by the way.

It reminds me of the story of a mother who’s child was diagnosed with severe birth defects. I can’t remember the name of the defect now but her husband was adamant she abort. The insurance company said they would not pay for any health coverage after the baby was born. Even her Catholic priest told her to abort. So she did. She was past 5 months and so had to deliver a dead child. The child was going to die anyway but she said she hated that she did not carry to term and let the child die naturally. She felt like she was responsible for the child’s death. Tiller the killer was the abortionist.

She was a client of mine in an abortion recovery class years after the event.

Edit: I only know what I have heard some, not all, adopted children say. Yes, they feel abandoned. Even though the adoptive parents chose them to be their child. But some children are rejected by their parents, one or both, even though the parents kept them. It’s a sad world, is it not? There are rays of joy and light, though and we have to hang on to those.

Long ago I read somewhere that Native American Indians held a belief that the reason for the rise in the frequency of autistic children was because the child did not recognize the spiritless world into which it was born. And do not connect.

There is a wonderful author: Eric M. Hill who has written a book ‘The Spirit of Rejection’ about an ‘attempted abortion’ and the consequences – spiritually for and to the baby. I loved the first 2/3rds of the book. Moved to tears at the life-long plight of the ‘nearly’ aborted girl in the fictional story. In my opinion it completes the picture of this exceptional and transparent article by MC…Well done…so importantly well done!

“Can we really have an honest conversation about abortion?”

I was late to this conversation because I knew honesty would require that I listen to inner screams as your questions rent scar tissue. Everyone knows someone painfully affected by the dishonesty.

The conversation should be framed in the context of anyone’s right to take life, even inside their own body. The questions shouldn’t be reduced to a personal right over one’s body, or when life begins.

Conception of life is the miracle, not life’s first breath. Who defiles miracles without defiling themselves? Many here echoed that question. Their stories were heartbreaking.

Sharing the burden you carried, unacknowledged, for so long, revealing its wounds and soul-scorching scars, you lightened the burdens of many and gave relief to those that never heal.

God bless you.

Not to be unnecessarily irreligious, but the virgin birth was once a miracle, and is now a simple medical procedure. The new IPO of Beyond Meat, purveyor of lab grown “meat,” is tantamount to biblical fishes and loaves, and walking on water is now the province of entertainment magicians. Is conception of life, as now done in a test tube , also a miracle?

Your link didn’t work for me. Here is one that has all kinds of interesting demographic information.

https://abort73.com/abortion_facts/us_abortion_statistics/

The majority are women in their 20’s. A fact I already knew but I think others should know that it is not mostly teens. People seem to believe that to be the case. 10% are teens. However, 40% of those teens had abortions without their parents knowledge.

Here are stats broken down by religion:

Women identifying themselves as Protestants obtain 37.4% of all abortions in the U.S.; Catholic women account for 31.3%, Jewish women account for 1.3%, and women with no religious affiliation obtain 23.7% of all abortions. 18% of all abortions are performed on women who identify themselves as “Born-again/Evangelical”.

This grave sits near the back of our family cemetery fenced off in the middle of a cow pasture a half mile walk in from the creek. That’s how you get there.

This grave had special meaning to my Grandmother Fannie, the Matriarch of my mother’s Irish family. Nellie never seems to have married and Baby Dau did not receive a name, but my Granny made a point to put some flowers on these two graves with a grandchild or two along to keep her from falling. In those days grandchildren were good for things other than handing candy and toys.

Flat Stucky had to pay respects to a little grave which is marked for all eternity on a Sacred Rock. I did not leave flowers. I left pretty rocks from the creek. They will last longer.
