U.S. created 500,000 fewer jobs since 2018 than previously reported, new figures show

So, in reality, the number of jobs reported in the last year were 20% LOWER than what was reported monthly. I don’t know about you, but if my numbers were off by 20% in reporting to my superiors, I’d be fired. But, these government drones reporting propaganda to the masses are promoted. CNBC won’t be reporting this massive negative revision. It doesn’t fit the narrative. There will be no tweets by the Orange Man about this revision. Do you find it interesting the revision is always negative? So it goes.

Via Marketwatch

Turns out hiring wasn’t nearly as strong in 2018 and early 2019 as the government initially reported — by about a half-million jobs.

The U.S. economy had about 501,000 fewer jobs as of March 2019 than the Bureau of Labor Statistics initially calculated in its survey of business establishments. That’s the largest revision since the waning stages of the Great Recession in 2009.

The newly revised figures indicate the economy didn’t get a huge boost last year from President Trump’s tax cuts and higher federal spending. They also signal the economy is a bit weaker than previously believed and could give the Federal Reserve even greater reason to cut interest rates in September.

“This makes some sense, as the 223,000 average monthly increase in 2018 seemed too good to be true in light of how tight the labor market has become and how much trouble firms are said to be having finding qualified workers,” said chief economist Stephen Stanley of Amherst Pierpont Securities.

The average 223,000 monthly increase in employment in 2018 — the strongest in three years — could be trimmed to 180,000 to 185,000, economists estimate.

Fewer jobs were created in restaurants, hotels, retailers and professional business services. Leisure and hospitality employment was reduced by 175,000, business services by 163,000 and retail by 146,400.

This annual “benchmark” revision is much larger than is typically the case. The preliminary revision in 2018, for example, showed the economy produced 43,000 additional jobs than initially reported.

Every year the Bureau of Labor Statistics updates its figures based on unemployment data that nearly all employers are required to file with the states. These revisions are usually quite small, reflecting about one-tenth of 1% of total nonfarm employment.

The current revision reflects an adjustment of 0.3%, although the number is not final. The 2018 revision was eventually changed again to -1,000 from 43,000.

The final results will be released in February 2020.

Zerohedge and the other alternative financial news sites all know the government lies about economic statistics–and everything else–yet they dutifully report them every month. Revising “estimates” down has been a favourite strategy for years. There’s virtually no cost to the strategy from the government’s perspective. Makes the economy look better than it is and no one will pay attention to the revision, especially since MSM ignores it. As a decided bonus, revising last month’s figure down, makes this month’s figure look better still since the reported gain will be larger. With no one to hold the politicians and public servants to account the practice will continue, and ZH and everyone else will continue to report the lies as if they have some validity.

There is no longer any such thing as alternative media. They sing from the same song sheet as MSM. It is possible that it is because of the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act. What few alt media sites exist will be shut down by Trump’s war on the media. Trump doesn’t mind fake news as long as said fake news supports his image. You know like the fake news of the unemployment rate.

During the 2016 campaign, Trump ripped government reports of falling unemployment rates for falsely inflated numbers because so many Americans were not in the labor force. “Our real unemployment rate … is 42 percent,” Trump insanely told Time magazine in August 2016, “because you have 90 million people that aren’t working, 93 million to be exact.”

votin harder…….TDS stands for Truth Doesn’t Sleep…

No body seems to ever mention the Smith-Mundt Act……..Trump bellows the “fake” news for 3 yrs. but to my memory I have not heard one word from any of Hegelian players in DC about it !

annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum<<<— the plan is moving forward.

Kind of like how none speak of E-verify for control of illegal interlopers. It will morph to a national ID card…for the safety of the beloved serfs, of course.

A national i.d. card tied to e verify is almost here… Real ID act has been around for days and states are being coerced to comply.

Precisely;

If Trump is so against “fake news” then why hasn’t he ever spoke out against the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 which legalized propaganda (fake news) in the U.S.A. ? He has never mentioned it even ONCE! How would he not know about this and be ignorant? He’s not!

The only reason the media is blaring Recession!! and these job numbers is to hurt Trump.

We all know the numbers are fake and have been fake for years.

No, the media blaring the recession story isn’t so much to hurt Trump but to maintain any semblance of credibility with the populous.

Don’t worry though, Trump will bring the jobs back, just not the 20% that were revised downward from last year.

It will be blamed on the trade war and nationalism just as it was scripted to be when the “Deep State” appointed the globalist wolf in a nationalist wolf costume, Emperor Trump.
It’s a novela….just as Obama, just as Dubya and Slickwilly and Daddy Spook Bush played their parts, so too Trump.

P.S.

I’m glad there are a few other honest, critical thinking Americans still left… Brandon Smith always says it better than me but I digress…

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-08-21/real-reasons-why-media-suddenly-admitting-recession-threat

One thing that is important to understand about the mainstream media is that they do tell the truth on occasion. However, the truths they admit to are almost always wrapped in lies or told to the public far too late to make the information useful. Dissecting mainstream media information and sifting out the truth from the propaganda is really the bulk of what the alternative media does (or should be doing). In the past couple of weeks I have received a rush of emails asking about the sudden flood of recession and economic crash talk in the media. Does this abrupt 180 degree turn by the MSM (and global banks) on the economy warrant concern? Yes, it does.

The first inclination of a portion of the liberty movement will be to assume that mainstream reports of imminent economic crisis are merely an attempt to tarnish the image of the Trump Administration, and that the talk of recession is “overblown”. This is partially true; Trump is meant to act as scapegoat, but this is not the big picture. The fact is, the pattern the media is following today matches almost exactly with the pattern they followed leading up to the credit crash of 2008. Make no mistake, a financial crash is indeed happening RIGHT NOW, just as it did after media warnings in 2007/2008, and the reasons why the MSM is admitting to it today are calculated.

Nearly one third of US population is not in the Labor force. While 646,000 move out of labor force only 263,000 gets the jobs, but the unemployment rate goes down. How do we explain the numbers? Here is a year old video that explains how this “propaganda” works.

19 times Trump trashed Obama’s jobs numbers as “fake”:
https://theguardiansofdemocracy.com/trump-called-obamas-jobs-numbers-fake-19-times-today-hes-celebrating-julys-jobs-report/

What happened when Trump took office to make the economic statistics and labor market statistics honest and not fraudulent as Trump and others said was the case under Obama?? Did Trump fire all of the workers responsible for analyzing the unemployment rate and other economic data? Did he drain any such swamp in these agencys like the BLS? I can’t find ANYWHERE where he did this.

So that means that if the economic numbers were faked under Obama and Trump did not correct the problem of falsifying this information, then said information HAS TO STILL BE FALSE!!

But “FAKE NEWS” is okay as long as it promotes Trump’s image.

So what’s the difference between Obama and Trump?
NOTHING!
